Carroll County, Missouri Obituary - Oscar Schroeder d. September 20, 1914 Oscar Schroeder "Oscar Schroeder Dead" Oscar, the 18-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Schroeder, living one mile Southeast of Norborne, died at the home of his parents Sunday evening at 6:30 o'clock. Oscar Schroeder was born and raised in this county and all his life had been spent in and around Norborne. He was an industrious young man and one who had won the confidence of every one in the community. He was converted when a child and it seemed only natural for him to do the right at all times. He was first taken sick early in the spring and suffered intensely with rheumatism. After a time he was again strong enough to return to his work and was able to be about until two weeks ago when the disease again returned this time lasting to the end. He is survived by a father and mother and many close relatives and friends. We join with the sorrowing friends and the heart-broken parents who have the sympathy of the entire community in the loss of this good young man who was just entering manhood. The funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock by Rev. John D. Tussey, pastor of the Methodist church in this city, after which the body was taken to Fairhaven cemetery for burial.
