Carroll County, Missouri Obituary - Woods, Mrs. Harry E. d. September 18, 1913 Source: Norborne Democrat Newspaper A SUDDEN DEATH Mrs. Harry E. Woods, died at her home in this city, at three o’clock, Thursday morning, September 18, 1913, of heart disease, aged 47 years. She has been sick for some time but has been confined to the house less than ten days. A few weeks ago she went to Kansas City expecting to spend a month or more with Mrs. S.B. Cary; but became ill and accompanied by Mrs. Cary, returned to her home in this city. She was quite sick for several days and required constant nursing day and night; but gradually grew stronger and on the day prior to her death was able to sit up; in fact strong enough to walk around the house. About 1 o’clock Thursday morning she suddenly became worse and the nearest physician was summoned; but death had put the seal upon her and she passed away about three o’clock. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Mildred Crumpacker, and was born in Carroll county about 1866. Later the family moved to Norborne and where she has since made her home. A number of years ago she was united in marriage with Harry E. Woods, who survives her. She was a good woman, a devoted wife, a kind neighbor and was esteemed and respected by everybody. For many years she has been a member of the Methodist Church, South, and her life has been spent in the service of the Master. Her husband was in Spokane, Washington, at the time of her death, and funeral services will be held in abeyance until he arrives, or is heard from. He will in all probability arrive Saturday and doubtless the funeral will be held Sunday.
