Carroll County, Missouri Obituary - Wheeler, Martha Jane d. November 29, 1929 Source: Local newspaper Carrollton, MO 6 Dec 1929 Wheeler, Martha Jane - Obit Mrs. Martha Jane Wheeler died at the home of her son, Levi Wheeler, near Wakenda, Friday morning, Nov 29th, at 10:30. She was aged 78 years, 5 months and 10 days. Martha Jane Wheeler was born June 19, 1851, in IA, and was the daughter of Perry and Lettie Mott Wheeler. She came to MO many years ago and has since resided in this state, living with he son near Wakenda for several years past. She was the mother of 10 children, eighth of whom survive. They are Levi Wheeler, Mrs. Merty Naught, of Wakenda; Mrs. Violet Jones, of Monmouth, KS; Perry Wheeler of Vandalia, MO; Benjamin Wheeler of Meramack, OK; Edward Wheeler, of Cherokee, KS, and Everett Wheeler, of Valley Springs, AR. Two daughters predeceased her, having died many years ago. Mrs. Wheeler also leaves one brother, Joseph Wheeler, of Wakenda, and one sister, Mrs. Ketle Leonard, of Roads. Two sisters also preceded her in death. Funeral services were held Saturday morning, at 11, at the home, conducted by Rev. G. L. Bush.
