This Indenture made and entered into this seventh day of August in the Year of our Lord one
Thousand Eight hundred and forty nine between Alexander Smith of the County of Cass and State
of Missouri of the one part and William Ison of the County and State aforesaid of the other
Witnesseth that the said Alexander Smith for and in consideration of the sum of one Dollar and
Twenty five cents per acre have this day granted bargained and Sold and by these presents doth
grant bargain sell alien and convey unto William Ison and to his heirs and assigns forever one
certain tract or piece of Land situate lying and being in the County of Cass and State of
Missouri and being part of the North East quarter of the South West quarter of section No (13)
thirteen in Township No (45) Forty five and of Range No (31) Thirty one and is bounded as
follows (to wit) Beginning at the South East corner of said Tract of land as above named at at
stone or stake and running thence West six chains and seventy five links to a stake thence
North 35° East Eleven chains and and forty five links to a stake on the East line of said tract
thence South nine chains and thirteen links to the place of beginning containing two acres and
Seventy nine hundredths together with all and singular the appurtances thereunto belonging or
in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the land and premises unto the said William Ison
and to his heirs and assigns forever and the said Alexander Smith for himself his heirs assigns
Executors and administrators against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons to
the aforesaid tract of land doth and will warrant and forever defend by these presents In
witness whereof the said Alexander Smith have hereunto set his hand and Seal the day and date

County of Cass        Be it remembered that Alexander Smith who is personally Known to the
undersigned a Justice of the peace to be the Same person whose name is Subscribed to the within
deed as a party thereto this day appeared before me at the County of Cass and acknowledged that
he executed the said Deed voluntarily for the uses and purposes therein Expressed.  In
testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 7th day of September 1849
