This deed made and entered into this 15th day of Nov. AD. 1851 between James Hamilton and Mahala Withers both of the County of Cass and State of Missouri, Witnesseth, that said Hamilton hath this day for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty one dollars to him in hand paid by said Mahala Withers receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged bargained, granted and sold unto said Mahala Withers the following described tract of land situate in the County aforesaid and described as follows to wit: The Southwest quarter of the Northeast quarter of Section No. Twenty (20) in Township No. Forty five (45) of Range No. Thirty containing Forty acres. To have and to hold the above described tract of land with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto said Mahala Withers and unto her heirs forever with full and general warranty and Hamilton hereby warranting the title thereof to said Withers her heirs and assigns forever.  And it is distinctly understood and agreed by said parties that the land hereby meant to be conveyed is the same Forty acre tract on which said Mahala Withers now resides. In testimony of all which said James Hamilton hereto sets his hand and seal this date above writen.

     Be it remembered that on this 15th day of Nov. AD. 1851 the within mentioned James Hamilton personally came before the undersigned Clerk of the County Court in and for Platte County aforesaid and acknowledged the within and foregoing deed of conveyance to be his act and d-- for the uses and purposes in said deed and I further certify that the said James Hamilton so acknowledging said deed is personally known to me to be the same person whose name is signed to the said deed of conveyance. In testimony 

           whereof I Dan'l P. Lewis Clerk of said County Court aforesaid 

  Seal     have hereunto signed my name and affixed the seal of said 

           Court at office in Platte City on this 15th day of November

           1851.
