Witnesseth, that for and in consideration of the sum of thirty five Dollars, to the said Nealy Caroline Gordon in hand paid the receipt is hereby acknowledged, the said Nealy Gordon do grant bargain and convey unto the said John Swingle and George Swingle their heirs and assigns a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being in Cedar County & State of Missouri, that is to say, commencing at the North West corner of the East half of lot No. 2, of the N. E. quarter of section No. 3, township No. 33, of Range No. 26, thence South twenty rod thence East sixteen rod, thence North twenty rod, thence West to the beginning Containing two acres more or less with all the appurtenances thereunto. To have and and [sic] to hold the above described tract or parcel of land unto the said John & George Swingle & their heirs assigns forever and I will forever warrant and defend the same against the claim or claims of myself my heirs or assigns the claims of all and every other person. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my seal this the 7th Day of August 1863. Nealy Caroline Gordon (Seal) The State of Missouri) County of Cedar ) Be it remembered that Nealy Caroline Gordon was personally known to the undersigned a justice of the peace within and for said County, to be the person whose name is subscribed to the foregoing or within deed as party thereto this day appeared before me and acknowledged that she executed and delivered the same as her voluntary act and deed for the use and purpose therein mentioned or contained, the said Nealy Caroline Gordon being by me made acquainted with the contents of said deed acknowledged that she the same and relinquishes her right and title to said real estate therein mentioned.
