This Indenture made and entered into this third day of November Eighteen Hundred 
and thirty eight by and between Jaley Hubbard of the county of Chariton and 
State of Missouri of the one part and Stokely Mott of the county of Howard and 
State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth, that the said Jaley Hubbard for 
and in consideration of the sum of Five Hundred and thirty dollars cash in hand 
to her paid by the said Mott, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and for 
herself and her heirs freely clearly and absolutely doth grant bargain sell 
confirm and convey unto the aforesaid Stokely Mott his heirs and assigns forever 
a certain tract or parcel of land containing Eighty Acres, lying and being 
Situate in the County of Chariton and State aforesaid, it being the East half of 
the South East quarter of section five (5) in Township fifty two (52) of Range 
sixteen (16) with all and every of its appertenances to the said Stokely Mott 
and to his heirs and assigns and the said Jaley Hubbard do further covenant with 
the said Mott that she has good right and title to the above described Eighty 
acres of Land and the same to him the said Stokely Mott and to his heirs and 
assigns she will and shall by these presents forever warrant and defend against 
the claim or claims of herself or her heirs and all and every person or persons 
whomsoever.  In testimony whereof the said Jaley Hubbard hath herewith set her 
hand and seal the day and year first above written.

November the 3d 1838.  Be it remembered that in the year of our Lord one 
thousand Eight Hundred and thirty Eight, before me a Justice of the peace within 
and for the county aforesaid personally came Jaley Hubbard personally known to 
me to be the person whose Name is subscribed to the foregoing Instrument of 
writing as having Executed the same, and acknowledged the same to be her act and 
deed for the purposes therein mentioned.  Taken and certified this day and year 
above written.  Martin Winn a Justice of the Peace
