This deed made and concluded this twenty third day of July in the year of our
Lord Eighteen hundred and thirty one by and between James Keyte & Eliza, his
wife, of the county of Chariton and State of Missouri of the one part and John
F. Chrane of the county of Chariton and State of Missouri of the other part.
Witnesseth, that the said party of the first part for and in consideration of
the sum of one dollar current money of the United States the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged and said party of the second part from the payment of the
same forever acquited and discharged, hath granted, bargained, sold and conveyed
and doth by these presents give, grant, bargain and sell and convey unto the
said party of the second part the following described lot of ground situated
near Keytesville in the County of Chariton, State aforesaid, viz: Beginning at
the south east corner of said lot running north 25 west 50 poles 16 links to a
stake from which a white oak bearing west 12 inches in diameter marked 2 notches
thence north 65 west 12 poles 16 links to a stake from which is a white oak
marked 3 notches 24 inches in diameter bearing south 22 East 22 links thence
south 25 west 50 poles 16 links to a stake, from which a white oak bearing north
65 East 20 inches in diameter, 6 links, thence north 65 East 12 poles 17 links
to the beginning containing four acres, the same being included in the West half
of the southwest quarter of section thirty three, township fifty four in Range
Eighteen west of the fifth principal meridian. To have and to hold the above
described tract of land with all and singular the rights and appurtenances
thereunto belonging or in wise appertaining unto him the said party of the
second part, his heirs and assigns forever and the said party of the first part
for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to
and with the said party of the second part, his heirs, Executors, administrators
and assigns to warrant and forever defend the same against the claims or claims
of any person or persons by through or under him, the said party of the first
part. IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, the said parties of the first part have hereunto set

Be it remembered that on this twenty third day of July in the year of our Lord
Eighteen Hundred and thirty one before me a Justice of the County Court,
personally came James Keyte and Eliza, his wife, both personally known to me to
be the persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing instrument of writing
as having executed the same and severally acknowledged the same to be their act
and deed for the purposes therein mentioned. She, the said Eliza, being by me
first made acquainted with the contents thereof and examined separate and apart
from her husband whether she executed the said deed and relinquishes her dower
to the lands and tenements therein mentioned voluntarily, freely and without
compulsion or undue influence of her said husband, acknowledged and declared
that she executed the said deed and relinquishes her dower to the said lands and
tenements therein mentioned, voluntarily, freely and without compulsion or undue
influence of her said husband.
