My second Great Grandfather, Wiley W. HEDGPETH born January 29, 1814 in North Carolina migrated to Giles Co., TN where he married Charlottie EDWARDS in 1837. Their families were farmers. Wiley and Charlottie brought their seven children in a wagon train with the EDWARDS families and others in 1852 to settle in Christian Co., Porter Township, Missouri. They engaged in farming the rest of their lives. Wiley and Charlottie had twelve children, of which three died very young. Their children were: A. Martha; William P.; Matilda; Mary Jane; James C.; Frances; John W.; Robert Franklin; Millard F.; Wiley N.; Lula M.; Emma. Charlottie died April 28, 1865 in Nixa, Missouri and is buried in Payne Cemetery in Nixa, Christian Co., Missouri. Wiley married Rutha Horn September 20, 1868. They had Laura, Clarence and Clyde Hedgpeth. Wiley died October 31, 1870 in Nixa, Christian Co., Missouri and is also buried in Payne Cemetery, Nixa Nancy Jane Ramsey Norris, Goddard, Kansas .
