Wm. F. Bartlett who lives on section 27, Des Moines township, is a native of 
the county.  He was born October 17, 1865.  His farther Richard F. Bartlett 
was also born in the county from early pioneer stock.  Mr. Bartlett was reared 
on the home place, receiving a common school education.  He was married in 
1886 to Miss Ella Murphy.  He is a man of great energy and we predict for him 
a long life of usefulness and prosperity.  The home he occupies is a part of 
the ancestral homestead and his farm is one of the most fertile and best 
improved in the east section of the county.
