Mr. Hardy was born in 1849 the 18th of February. When he was but two years old his parents left Kentucky and came to Iowa, settling on a farm near Charleston Lee county. Here he remained until 1860 when the family moved to Clark county Missouri, and this has been his home ever since. In 1864 although but 15 years old he enlisted in the 39th Mo. Infantry, Co. I. and served until the close of the war. In 1870 he was married to Miss Sarah Leighton. Mr. Hardy by his study honesty perseverance and work has acquired a competence and is one of the substantial men of Clark county, and is looked up to and respected by all his neighbors.
