MO Clark County Deed Book D, page 139-140 This indenture made and entered into this sixteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and forty four by and between Susannah Howard, Isaac L.V. Howard and Elizabeth his wife, Thomas F. Howard and Katharine his wife, Elihu Howard and Sophia his wife, Edmund J. Howard, John J. Martin and Pheby his wife, James Eli and Nancy Martha his wife, and Mark Noe and Polly his wife of the first part and Adrain A.H. Howard of the second part all of the County of Clark and state of Missouri and all heirs at law to the Estate of John N. Howard deceased late of the said County. Witnesseth that the aforesaid parties of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars which is justly due to the said Adrain A.H. Howard of the second part by the aforesaid Estate of John N. Howard decd. Hath bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do bargain sell convey and confirm unto the said Adrain A.H. Howard and all their right to the claim or demand that they may have into or upon in law or equity as heirs or legatees of the said John N. Howard decd. to the following described land that the said John N. Howard seized and possessed of viz. Twenty six acres and 32/100 of an acre of section nineteen, also forty two acres and 84/100 of an acre being the south half of Lot No. two of the south west quarter of Section nineteen all in township Sixty six north of the baseline Range No. Eight West of the fifth principal merdian containing in all according to public survey sixty nine acres and sixteen hundreths of an acre to the same more or less Together with all and singular the appurtenances those unto belonging as in anywise appertaining. To have and to hold the above described premises unto the said Adrain A.H. Howard his heirs and assignees forever and the said parties of the first part the aforesaid promises unto Adrain A.H. Howard his heirs and assignees againest the claim or claims of all and every person claiming under by or through them do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents in testimony whereof the parties of the first part hath herein to set our hands and seal this day and year first above written. Martin and Pheby his wife, James Eli and Nancy Martha his wife and Mark Noe and Polly his wife all personally known to me to be the persons whose names are subscibed to the foregoing instrument of writing and severally acknowledged the same to be their act and deed for the purpose therein mentioned and declared and all of the said wives being separate and apart from their said husbands by me examined declared that they had made the same acknowledgement freely and with their own consent without being induced thereto through fear or the acts of undue influence of their said husbands.
