Monticello Journal. During a stop in the Snake river valley, while on the road home from Caldwell with a load of freight last Sunday afternoon, apparently in the best of health, James G. Fretwell suddenly expired. His body was taken back to Caldwell and prepared for burial. Funeral service was conducted at the grave in the cemetery here Wednesday afternoon by Rev. Armstrong. The rich casket was sealed in a steel vault. Mr. Fretwell was a native of Missouri and was nearly sixty-three years of age. He came to this country in 1880 and, by industry and thrift, had accumulated a very comfortable fortune in lands and cattle. He is survived by nine brothers and sisters. Additional Comments: James Green Fretwell died at Homedale, Idaho. He is buried in Jordan Valley, Oregon beside his sister, Lucy Fretwell Staples.
