All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mo/mofiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Woody Lee Franklin wlfranklin@iname.com October 7, 2006, 11:57 am Clark County Courier 13 September 1940 Clark County Courier, Kahoka, Missouri 9-13-1940 page 6 Miss Lura Hecox, daughter of Goodsil and Anna Hecox, was born on a farm south of Wayland, Clark County, Missouri, and died at her home in Wayland, Missouri, Saturday, September 7, 1940, at 8:30 o'clock, at the age of 79 years, 10 months and 10 days. She was converted when a young woman and united with the Christian church at Canton, Mo. later moving to Kahoka, she put her membership in the Christian church at that place, in which place her membership is still held. She was the only remaining one of seven children. Preceding her in death were her parents: three brothers, George, Frank and Samuel Hecox and three sisters, Mrs. Ika Moulden, Mrs. Barker and Parmelia Hecox. The only surviving relatives are nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Jennie Hecox, who so tenderly cared for her in her declining years. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the former South Methodist church, with Rev. James Shultz in charge. The pallbearers were Joe Lehr, Newton Waples, Willard Cooey, Leslie Young, Guy Wiggins and William Burke. Mr. an Mrs. Otto Dommerman, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Snakenberg furnished the music with Mrs. H.F. Kircher at the piano. There was a profusion of flowers testifying to the love and esteem in which she was held. Burial was in Frazee cemetery.
