He returned to Maryland where he met and married Miss Mariah E. Davis. To this union were born 10 children. "After his marriage they remained in Maryland for a few years when he with his family moved to Missouri, settling on a farm near Ashton. They lived in Clark county until called to his reward. "During early life, he with his wife, united with the German Reformed church, but when moving to Missouri there was no church of that denomination here, so they united with the Cumberland Presbyterian church. He was always faithful to his church, and lived a devoted christian life all his days. He was a great bible student and delighted in reading his bible to the last. "He was a farmer during all his active life.... The funeral services were held at the J. M. Schnebly home Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 pm.... Internment in the Ashton cemetery." - printed in the Clark County Courier, Kahoka MO, 26 Sep 1924.
