The submitter has given permission to the USGenWeb Archives to store the file permanently for free access. http://www.usgenwebarchives.org ************************************************************************ WILSON Mary Frances Wells, the daughter of Joseph and Elisabeth Wells, was born Dec. 23, 1847 near Neeper, Mo., and departed this life Jan. 17, 1929, at 2 o’clock at the home of her daughter Elisabeth J. Russell, with whom she has made her home during her sickness, since the 20th day of June, 1927 being at the time of her death 81 yrs. and 25 days. In the year of 1867 at the age of 20 she gave her heart to God and united with the South Wyaconda Baptist church and has never departed from this faith. She was united in marriage to Rev. 0.F.D. Wilson March 26, 1871. She and Rev. Wilson spent all of their active ministerial life here in the state. Their service was of the highest type and many of the older Baptist today have happy memories of their devotion to God’s cause. To this union were born nine children. Two children preceded her in death; Sarah Frances died in childhood; Joseph William died June 30, 1927 also her beloved husband who died in 1921. She is survived by Elisabeth J. Russell of Gorin, Mo.; James T. Wilson, Rose Whipple, Mamie Goodwin, Martha Allen, Middleton, Idaho; Asa Ray Wilson Courtland, Calif. Besides the children named above she leaves 29 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, also two sisters, Mrs. Emma Adams, and Mrs. Susie Brookhart of Wyaconda, three brothers I. M. Wells of Wyaconda, J. M. and R. H. Wells of Kahoka. Two daughters were at her bedside when she died, Eliz. Russell and Mamie Goodwin. Funeral services were held on Fri. Jan. 18th, from the South Wyaconda Baptist church conducted by the Rev. Geo. C. Jurrens of Wyaconda. Words of comfort and hope were spoken from the 15th verse of the ll8 Psalm, “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints”. Interment was made in the Ballard cemetery where she was placed by the side of her husband waiting for general resurrection.
