Unknown Cemetery, Clay County, Missouri Jan 16, 2007 Received e-mail from submitter advising me that the unknown cemetery at Excelisor is Story Cemetery and it to has been moved due to building, it was moved to Hillcrest Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Hillcrest cemetery is on land owned at one time my the Story family. This small cemetery looks to be a family plot. It has not be taken care of and is in very poor condition. They have just started building home around the cemetery in the last six months. It sits in the middle of this new housing addition under a big shade tree. Looks as if someone has tried to sit some of the stones back up which are still readable. Only six stones are readable, all the rest are broken or just so old that the inscription is gone. Some of the graves are falling in, don't know if this is from them moving the dirt all around the cemetery for streets and houses or just from not being taken care of. This makes be very sad to see out history disappearing like this. It is my wish that what little information is left will be helpful to someone. Location: Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Clay County.
