C--jan 1848-oct. 1852, Lds Film 2294581, Book C, Page 272 Written: April 4, 1853 Recorded: April 4, 1853 Revised Letters of Administration for Estate of John Cruse (1814-1850) Clay County, Missouri LDS Film 2294581, Book C, page 272 In Open Court Be it remembered that on the 4th day of April in the year 1853 application was made at the office of the Clerk of the County Court within and for the County of Clay in the State of Missouri for Letters of administration on the estate of John Cruse deceased by Margaret Isaac Brown and he the said Margaret Isaac Brown having given bond with satisfactory security and complied with the requisition of the law, the same are granted him which said letters and bond are in the words and figures following, to wit: Know all men by these presents that we Isaac Brown as principal and Vincent S. Crawford & Henry Carwin his security are held and firmly bound unto the State of Missouri in the full sum of Four Thousand Dollars. To the payment of which will and truly to be made we bond ourselves our heirs executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents signed and sealed the 4th day of April 1853. The condition of the above bond is that of Isaac Brown Administrator De Bonis Non of theEstate of John Cruse deceased, shall faithfully administer said Estate remaining unadministered by Margaret Cruse late administratrix of said deceased and account for pay and deliver all money and property of said Estate and perform all other things touching said administration required by law or the order or decree of any Court having jurisdiction, then the above bond to be void otherwise to remain in full force. Crawford Henry Carwin County of Clay SS: The State of Missouri to all persons to whom these presents shall come Greeting: Know ye that whereas the letters of administration granted to Margaret Cruse upon the Estate of John Cruse deceased having become Void in Consequence of her marriage. Therefore to the end that the property belonging to the estate of said deceased remaining unadministered may be collected preserved & disposed of according to law, we do hereby appoint Isaac Brown administrator De Bonis Non of all and singular the goods and chattels, right and credits, which were of the said John Cruse deceased at the time of his death remaining unadministered by Margaret Cruse late administratorix of said deceased with full power and authority to secure and dispose of said property according to law, and collect all monies due said deceased, and in general to do & perform all other things which are or hereafter may be required of him by law. In testimony whereof I Greenup Bird Clerk of the County Court in and for the County of Clay aforesaid have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of said court-at office in this 4th day of April AD 1853.
