First Annual Settlement of the Estate of John Cruse
This first annual settlement of Margaret Cruse administratrix of the estate of 
John Cruse deceased made at the May Term A.D. 1851 of the Clay County Court of 
Clay county in the State of Missouri.

Additional Comments:
Transcribers Notes:  Not sure about the “L” McCracken who rented part of the 
farm but there was a McCracken family living next door to Margaret Cruse in the 
1850 census.  The family was headed by the Widow Sarah McCracken and judging 
from the 1840 census, her husband was John W. McCracken since there was only 
one name between his and John Cruse.  Smith Cummins was a single 34 year old, 
farmer living in the household of John and Eliza Clevenger in dwelling number 
1248 in the 1850 Census.  Margaret Cruse was in dwelling 1259 in the 1850 
census.  John and Eliza Clevenger were the parents of Jane Clevenger who 
married Absalom Cruse.
