Jackson Clay County, Missouri LDS Film 2294581, Book D, page 142 In Vacation Be it remembered that on the 13th day of March in the year 1857 application was made at the office of the Clerk of the County Court within and for the County of Clay in the State of Missouri for Letters of administration upon the estate of Tucker M. Jackson deceased by Margaret Jackson and she the said Margaret Jackson having given bond with satisfactory security and complied with the requisition of the law, the same are granted her which said bond and letters of administration are in the words and figures following, to wit: Know all men by these presents that Margaret Jackson as principal and Eli Jackson and Moses McCoy as security are held and firmly bound unto the State of Missouri in the full sum of seven Hundred dollars. To the payment of which will and truly to be made, we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators jointly and severally firmly by these presents, Signed and sealed the 13th day of March AD1857. The condition of the above bond is that if Margaret Jackson administratrix of the estate of Tucker M. Jackson deceased, shall faithfully administer said estate account for pay and deliver all money and property of said estate and perform all other things touching said administration required by law or the order or decree of any Court having jurisdiction, then the above bond to be void otherwise to remain in full force. Jackson late of the County of Clay died intestate as it is said having at the time of his death property in this State which may be lost or destroyed or diminished in value if speedy care be not taken of the same, to the end therefore the said property may be collected preserved and disposed of according to law we do hereby appoint Margaret Jackson administratrix of all and singular the goods and chattels, rights and credits, which were of the said Tucker M. Jackson at the time of his death with full power and authority to secure and dispose of said property according to law, and collect all monies due said deceased and in general to do and perform all other acts and things which are or hereafter may be required of her by law. In testimony whereof I Thomas McCarty Clerk of the County Court in and for the County of Clay aforesaid have hereunto signed my name and affixed the seal of said court at office in this 13th day of March AD 185.
