All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/mo/mofiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Ronald Reid rreid21@cox.net August 17, 2006, 10:18 pm SE 1/4 and SW 1/4 of the SW1/4 of Section 11, T50, R30, Clay Co., MO Written: November 18, 1839 Recorded: January 27, 1840 This indenture made this eighteenth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty nine between Lewis Hardwick and Elizabeth his wife of the County of Clay and State of Missouri of the one part and John Cruse of the county of Clay and State aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said Lewis Hardwick and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and seventy five Dollars to them in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged to hereby grant bargain sell convey and confirm unto Jno Cruse his heirs and assigns forever all that piece of parcel of land situate and being in the County of Clay and State of Missouri. VIZ. The South East and South West quarters of the South west quarter of section No Eleven in Township No fifty one and Range No thirty containing eighty acres of land more or less. Together with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to hold the above described premises unto the said John Cruse his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Lewis Hardwick and Elizabeth his wife the aforesaid premises unto the said John Cruse his heirs and assigns against all lawful claim or claims of all and every person whomsoever do and will warrant and forever defend by these presents in witness whereof the said Lewis Hardwick and Elizabeth his wife party of the first part have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written. Lewis Hardwick Elizabeth Hardwick State of Missouri County of Clay On this eighteenth day of November eighteen hundred and thirty nine Lewis Hardwick and Elizabeth his wife came before me and severally acknowledge that they had executed the within conveyance and the said Elizabeth Hardwick on a private examination apart from her husband acknowledged that she executed the said conveyance freely and without any fear or compulsion of her husband and I further certify that I know the persons who made the said acknowledgement to be the same individuals described in and who executed the said conveyance.
