Memorial dedicated to Mary Ellen Hinton - Clay County, Missouri

IN MEMORY OF DAUGHTER (died 22 Jul 1923):

The following article is taken from the Liberty Tribune and is regarding a 
memorial class room dedicated at the Baptist church in that city (Liberty, 
MO) in memory of the little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hinton.  Mr. 
Hinton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. S. Hinton of this city (Dawn, MO) and 
Mary Ellen, their granddaughter, has visited at their home here frequently 
and will be recalled by a number of our readers.

"Part of the services at the Baptist church on Christmas included the 
dedication of the Mary Ellen Hinton Memorial class room.  This is a class 
room of the primary department of the Sunday school which Mr. and Mrs. Walter 
Hinton have furnished and given to the new church in loving memory of their 
daughter, Mary Ellen, who was a faithful member of the department of the 
Sunday school.  The furnishing included twelve white chairs, white circular 
table and a white chair for the teacher.  Mrs W.H. Woodson, superintendent of 
the primary department, and Dr. O.R. Mangum, pastor of the church, both spoke 
of the interest Mary Ellen had taken in the building of the new church, her 
delight in planning for the time when she would attend Sunday school in it 
and the desire of Mrs. Hinton to give the furnishings in her memory.  A Mary 
Ellen Hinton Memorial tablet is at the entrance of the room."
