Tribune. – Dear Sir: After a residence of forty years in Clay county on their farm, a part of which was entered as government land, my parents have left the dear old home and come here to rest, and, as I trust, to enjoy a “green old age.” William Frick, Sr., was born in Germany in 1810, came to America in 1839, and will be 74 years old tomorrow. My mother was born in Ohio, and her father, David Hoblit, was an early settler in Clinton county, Mo. He afterwards removed to Worth county, where he died at the age of 84 years. Born in Philadelphia, in 1787, the year the constitution was made, he was a soldier to defend it in the war of 1812. My mother’s maternal grandfather was a nephew of James Wilson, of Pennsylvania, who signed the Declaration of Independence. My father leaves two brothers, Henry and Nicholas Frick, and one sister, Mrs. Charles Faller, in old Clay, besides many friends. We shall, therefore, welcome the weekly visits of the Tribune.
