Also a basket of cake, raisins, &c. The cake was very fine indeed – and the lady that can make such will make a good wife, and no mistake. Many thanks. “May life with them flow smoothly on, With naught to dim the flame of love; And when their earthly joys are gone, Sublimer find in realms above.” Feb 28, 1867: At the residence of the bride’s father, on the 20th inst., by Elder Josiah Waller, Mr. Isaac McCarty, of Kansas City, to Miss Kate Price, daughter of John Price, Esq., of Clay county. Across the threshold led, And every tear kissed off as soon as shed, His house she enters, there to be a light. We congratulate the young couple on their good fortune and happiness, and trust their lives may be prosperous and joyous. “And as time flies from year to year, May all their days in pleasure glide; Still may He learn how far more dear The loving wife is than the bride.
