Dear Trib.: - On Thursday, 20th inst., there assembled at the Christian Church in Barry, a large concourse of friends to witness the departure of Miss Sallie E. Aker and Mr. Logan B. Lampton from the shores of single-blessedness to the port of matrimonial bliss: Elder Haley, in a short appropriate, ceremony, pronounced a few magic words and the “twain were made on flesh” – kissed the bride and amid the congratulations, etc., &c., of hosts of friends started them on the journey of life with bright prospects of a happy voyage through time – to the realms of eternal bliss. May they arrive safely! But as in all long voyages, so they may naturally expect, before they reach the port, a few “squalls.” They need not be alarmed!! The “windows were darkened” and the church brilliantly lighted – the altar and stand were handsomely decorated with wreaths of evergreens and bouquets of flowers, displaying much good taste and skill in the fair friends of the handsome bride. The bride and maids of honor were richly dressed in white Alpacca, ornamented and trimmed in the latest style of the art, and looked lovely as angels – sweet as nectar and happy as fairy queens. The bridegroom was dressed in plain black, was charming as Adonis and gallant as any Knight that ever claimed the affections of “God’s fairest, sweetest, best gift to man.
