Apr 18, 1846: In Clay county on Sunday the 12th inst., at Church, in the presence of a crowd of about seven hundred persons, by the Rev. Mr. Dodge, Dr. Wm. H. Cosby, to Miss Eliza, daughter of S.S. Porter, Esq. - all of this county. In Jackson county, on the 1st of February last, Mr. Elden Myers, aged 19 years, to Mrs. Mary Nash, the mother of TWENTY children! all of Sni Bar Township, Jackson county, Missouri. Apr 25, 1846: In Howard county on the 7th inst., by Rev. W.G. Caples, Dr. Osborne Henderson to Miss Lucy E, daughter of John Y. Stern all of that county. May 2, 1846: In Callaway county, on the evening of the 15th ult., by Elder Marcus Wills, Maj. Wm. S. Cave, of Boone county, to Miss Margaret Harrison, Callaway. May 9, 1846: In this county on the 7th inst., at the residence of Andrew Robertson, Esq., by the Rev. C.E. Dodge, Mr. Robert G. Gilmer, to Mrs. Margaret Searcy. In Boone county, on the 28th ult., by Elder F. Wilhite, Mr. Wm. L. Hartson, of Virginia, to Miss Elizabeth Wilcox, of Boone county. May 16, 1846: In this place on Thursday evening the 14th inst., by the Rev. Dan'l Patton, Mr. Coleman Younger, of this county, to Miss Rebecca J., daughter of Wm. L. Smith, Esq., of this place. Accompanying the bove notice was a lot of the most delicious cake we have had the pleasure "gnawing" for some time. And best of all, there was plenty of it - something like ten pounds. And in return we tender this new married couple our best wishes, and hope they may pass many happy days together in this life, and when they have finished their career on earth, may they be prepared to enter the mansions of eternal rest. Lightburne, Esq., of this place, to Miss Sarah Elizabeth, daughter of D.A. Sutton, Esq., of Platte county, Mo. Accompanying the above notice was a slice of excellent cake, for which, we return the newly married couple our sincere thanks. We hope they may spend together a long and happy life; and finally be prepared for the life to come. On Thursday last by the Rev. Charles E. Dodge, Mr. Littleberry Stollings to Miss Margaret Ann Wyatt - all of this county. Oct 24, 1846: In this county on the 9th inst., by the Rev'd Daniel Patton, Milton W.D. Shoot, M.D., to Miss Francis M. Miller, all of Clay county - and all Whigs. Cake received; and the printer's devil is now cutting up all kinds of "rusties" on the strength of it. He says it is a good omen to see a young married couple remember the devil in their youthful days, so that when they "become old they won't depart from it." If such be the fact, this young couple can look forward to the future with pleasing anticipations. In Savannah on the 13th of Oct. by the Rev. E.A. Carson, Mr. L. Lingenfelter, to Miss Susan e. Lancaster, all of Andrew county. Oct 31, 1846: In this county on Wednesday evening the 28 instant, by Elder A.H.F. Payne, Dr. A.P. Bowman, to Miss Maria M., daughter of A.M. Riley, Esq. - all of this county. We hope this young couple may find their path through life stewed with flowers, and that nothing may occur to mar their happiness. May they always look as happy as they did when they stood beforre the altar to take upon themselves the solemn vow. Nov 7, 1846: At Georgetown, D.C., on Tuesday morning the 13th ult., Ferdinand W. Risque, of St. Louis, to Miss Caroline Salomy Pickrell. Nov 14, 1846: In this county on the 12th inst., by Elder A.H.F. Payne, Joseph Morton, Esq., to Miss Sarah Jane, daughter of Maj. John Menefee - all of this county. On Crooked River, on the 27th ult., by the Rev. R. Scott, Mr. Jesse B. Tuggle to Miss Penitha H., daughter of George Daney. Nov 21, 1846: In this county on Thursday evening last, by Elder A.H.F. Payne, James H. Baldwin, Attorney at Law, Platte City, to Miss Susan M., daughter of Col. John Thornton, of this county. This newly married couple have our best wishes for their future happiness and prosperity; and may their lives be marked by that course of conduct calculated to render the close of their earthly career as calm and peaceful as the setting of a summer's sun. "And when the fleeting waves of time are passed, The Christian's far-seen port be their's at last." In this county on the 12th inst., by Elder A.H.F. Payne, Joseph Morton, Esq., to Miss Sarah Jane, daughter of Maj. John Menefee - all of this county. We are under obligations to the above newly married couple for a fine lot of delicious cake sent us, and which reached us after our paper of last week hav been issued; and believing it "never too late to do good, " we return the couple our sincere thanks, hoping that they may be in possession "Of all the gifts of Heaven above, Whilst they on earth reside."
