Accompanying the above notice was a Gold Dollar, and the following song, which was sung by the “Bachelor’s Club” on the occasion. We wish the couple a long, happy and prosperous life: (first verse) Not a laugh was heard or a joyous note As our friend to the bridal we hurried; Not a wit discharged his farewell shot At the bachelor just to be married. Clay Roulder, Mr. Andrew Horn to Miss Julia Parker, President of the Young Ladies’ Temperance Society. We have copied the above with extreme regret. We are very sorry that the charming bride has forgotten her obligations to the cause, and gone back to the world. – However, we respect her for the good she did when “one of us,” and cheerfully write her epitaph, now that she is no longer one us: Fair Julia lived a temperate maid, Preached temp’rance ditties night and morn; But still her wicked neighbors said She broke her pledge and took A. Horn. (Nat. Temperance Organ.) Jun 30, 1854: In this city, on the 25th inst., by Rev. E.S. Dulin, John T. Colman, Esq., of Pilot Grove Cooper county, Missouri, to Miss Frances I.
