MARRIAGES IN CLAY COUNTY MISSOURI

The following marriages appeared in The Weekly Tribune, Liberty, Clay County, 
Missouri during the year of 1855.  Some the marriages did not occur in Clay 
County.  The date of publication is shown prior to the item(s).

Jan 5,1855:
In Lexington, Mo., on the 31st ult., by Rev’d B. Donnelly, Mr. M.C. Finney, of 
Liberty, Mo., to Miss Kate Kathrens, of Lexington.

On the 21st December, 1854, by Elder M.E. Lard, Mr. Joseph N. Baker, to Miss 
Lou. E., daughter of Judge Benj. Ricketts – all of Clay county, Mo.  Gold 
dollar received.
“Since hand in hand, life’s journey through,
They vow to walk together;
Long be their day and useful too,
Then end in joy forever.”

In this county on the 24th, by Elder Henry Hill, Mr. W.M. Keys, to Miss Louisa 
Chaney, all of Clay county.  Gold dollar rec’d.
“Oh! Married love! each heart shall own,
Where two congenial souls unite,
Thy golden chains inlaid with down,
Thy lamp with heaven’s own splendor bright.

Jan 19, 1855:
On the 9th inst., by Rev. Jacob Broadhurst, Mr. Gallatin Moseby, of Clay 
county, to Miss Eliza Stone, of Platte county, Mo.

Jan 26, 1855:
In Kansas Territory, on the 26th ult., by Rev. Dr. Barker, Mr. N.R. Stone, to 
Miss Doty – all of this county.

Feb 9, 1855:
On the 30th ult., by Rev. J.B. Harbison, Capt., Wm. M. Jacobs to Miss Amelia, 
daughter of Maj. James McCoun – all of Ray county.

Feb 16, 1855:
On the 6th inst., by Elder M.E. Lard, Mr. John H. Moseby, to Miss Sarah, 
daughter of John D. Hall, Esq., all of Clay county.

On the 7th inst., by Elder M.E. Lard, Dr. A.J. Chapman, of Richfield, to Miss 
Mildred F., daughter of Wade Moseby, Esq., of this county.

Mar 2, 1855:
In Lexington, on Sunday morning, 17th ult., by Father Donnelly, Mr. Jacob Saqui 
of Liberty, to Miss Margaret Earl, late of St. Charles, Mo.

In Kingston, on the 15th ult., by the Rev. Mr. Canfield, Dr. S.T. Bassett to 
Miss Carrie D., eldest daughter of John H. Ardinger, Esq., all of Kingston, Mo.

May 11, 1855:
Married – On the 3d inst., in Platte City, by the Rev. Jno. G. Fackler, H. Clay 
Cockrill, Esq., to Miss Sallie E., daughter of Hon. Wm. B. Almond, all of 
Platte county.

Jun 1, 1855:
On the 22d ult., at the residence of J. Hollingsworth, of this county, by Rev. 
Dr. Bainbridge, Mr. M.C. Talkington, of Elkton, Kentucky, to Miss Callie O. 
Jesup, formerly the latter place.

In this county, on the 17th, by Rev. Mr. Patton, Mr. A.W. Tracy, to Miss Mary 
C. McCrorey – all of this county.

In this county, on the 12th inst., at the residence of Stephen Majors, Esq., by 
Elder R.C. Morton, Dr. Charles N. Palmer, to Miss Sue Cook – all of this county.

Jun 29, 1855:
In Columbia, on the morning of the 21st inst., by Rev. N.H. Hall, Mr. Robert 
Clark, of DeKalb county, Mo., to Miss Mary, daughter of the late Gen. Richard 
Gentry, of the former place.

Aug 10, 1855:
On the 7th inst., in Platte City, Mo., by Rev. Jno G. Fackler, Dr. Addison T. 
Guthrie to Miss Martha E. Williams, all of Platte Co.  

Sep 28, 1855:
In Andrew County, on the 11th inst., by Rev. E.A. Carson, Mr. John W. Holt, to 
Mrs. Ruth C. Adkins, - all of Andrew.

Oct 5, 1855:
In this county on the 25th ult., by Ellis Williams, Esq., Dr. Reuben Samuel, to 
Mrs. Zerelda Simms, all of Clay county.

Near Lexington, on the 25th ult., by Elder Allen Wright, Mr. N. Field, of Clay 
county, to Miss Catharine, daughter of Dr. Carter, of Lafayette.

Oct 12, 1855:
On Wednesday evening, Oct. 10, 1855, by the Rev. B.T.F. Cake, Mr. Oscar A. 
McFarland, of Osawatown K.T., to Miss Catharine M. Hubbell, of this city.
WE return our kindest thanks for cake received and wish them many a year of 
unalloyed bliss.

In Richmond, on the 4th inst., by Rev. Mr. Blackwell, Mr. David D. Bullock, to 
Mrs. M.L. Tebbs, all of Ray county.

Nov 9, 1855:

Weston, to Miss Sallie Keller, of this county.

daughter of Thos. Arnold, Esq., of this county. 

Nov 16, 1855:
On Thursday Evening, 25th ult., by the Rev. Middleton R. Jones, Charles C. 
Birch, Esq., of Plattsburg, to Miss Mollie F., daughter of Willis W. Young, of 
Buchanan co.

Nov 23, 1855:
In this city, on Tuesday the 20th inst., by Elder M.E. Lard, Mr. William A. 
Hall, of Richmond, to Miss D. Florence Ringo, daughter of the late Samuel 
Ringo, of this city.
We acknowledge the receipt of a bright gold dollar.  We tender our thanks, and 
wish them complete happiness.  May they realize that
 “There is a Bliss beyond all the minstrel has told,
When two that are linked in one heavenly tie,
With heart never changing, and brow never cold,
Love on through ills, and love on till they die.”

Howard.

to Miss Mattie M., daughter of Capt. John A. Pitts, of Randolph.

Miss Bettie Huston – all of Clay co.
