Some the marriages did not occur in Clay County. The date of publication is shown prior to the item(s). Jan 9, 1857: On the 30th ult., by the Rev. Jno. G. Fackler, Mr. John C. Dunn, to Miss Margaret J. Bowman, all of Liberty. On the 1st inst., by the same, Mr. Simpson Kensinger, of Ohio, to Miss Susan Watson, of Richfield, Mo. On the 29th ult., by Elder Henry Hill, Mr. John Haynes, to Miss Lurinda S. Wirt, all of Clay. Thanks for the dollar. On the 1st inst., by Elder W.C. Barrett, Mr. R.S. Osborn, to Miss Kate Miller, all of Clay county. Good old Spanish dollar received, for which we make our bow. On the same day, by the same, Mr. Moses Lake, to Miss Mary W. Jones, all of Clay. In Independence on the 29th ult., by Father Donnelly, Mr. John Polk, of California, to Mrs. Ann Eliza Smith, widow of the late Jabez Smith, of Independence. Jan 16, 1857: On the 8th inst., by the Rev. Jno. G. Fackler, Mr. Wm. M. Thomason, to Miss Margaret Carson, all of Clay. On the 6th inst., by Elder Henry Hill, Mr. Beverly Petty, to Miss Martha Ann Estes, all of Clay. Dollar received – may happiness attend them. Jan 23, 1857: In this county on the 15th inst., by Rev. Mr. Prather, Mr. Charles S. Stark, to Miss Permelia C. Thompson, all of Clay co. We acknowledge the gold dollar &c., the usual fee in such cases, and with pleasure extend our congratulations to the happy couple who have taken upon themselves this most sacred of all relations. We hope their lives may be one of continued sunshine and prosperity, and that not a single cloud of misfortune may, for a moment, overshadow their happiness. Morton, Mr. Darius Sessions, of Richfield, to Miss Mollie Fisher, of this city. In Sacramento, on the evening of the 20th of April, by Rev. J.L. Shuck, A.C. Hunter to Miss Edith, daughter of E.
