Liberty Weekly Tribune; Date: 1857 Apr 17; Section: None Page Number: 3 April 17, 1857
TAKEN UP as a stray, by Eli Jackson of Fishing River Township, in clay county, 
one pide cow, three years old next spring, marked with a swallow fork in the 
left ear and a split in the right – no other marks or brands perceivable, 
appraised to fifteen dollars by Samuel Clevinger and Absalom Cruise, both 
householders of clay county appointed by me for that purpose.  This 28th
