Evans, farmer, section 4, postoffice Garrettsburg, was born in Garrett County, Kentucky, May 16, 1845. In 1850, his parents emigrated to Clinton County, Missouri, where he remained until 1880, at which time he removed to Buchanan County. Was married to Miss Rebecca Modrell, October 18, 1877. She was born April 29, 1856, in Missouri. They have two children: Lizzie L., born August 20 1878, died July 28, 1880; Virgil, born September 15, 1880. Mr. E. owns 119 acres of land in section 4 and 5, all under fence and in good state of cultivation. He has been road supervisor for four years.
