JANUARY 1--Charles E. Scott of Beaman and Miss Cora Waller of Pilot Grove were married in Sedalia. Julius Manger, formerly of Boonville and Miss Lillian Wessinger of Louisvlle, Kentucky, were married in New York. 2--Mrs. Nancy M. Langford, 72 years of age, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Edmonds. Carl Albert Dahlgren, 19 years old, died at the home of H. W. Jenkins. Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Debo celebrated their 25 anniversary at their home in Boonville. 4--R. C. Clark, the son of Col. R. C. Clark of Boonville, died at his home in St. Louis. W. Alec Givens, son of W. J. Givens, died at his home in Kansas City. 12--Paul Simon and Miss Julia Adams were married at the home of the bride by Rev. L. C. Clark. 22--Herman Reinhardt died at his home in Jefferson City. Mr. Reinhardt was 65 years old. 24--Mrs. Emma O. Gault, 34 years old, died at the home of her mother, Mrs. Ruth Davis, in Boonville. Mrs. Lowena Simmons, formerly of Boonville, died at her home in Columbia. FEBRUARY 1--Houston Harte and J. Donald Ferguson bought the Central Missouri Republican. 3--Henry R. Huber, 44 years old, died at his home in Boonville. 4--Systematic plans made for the aid of the needy. J. Ross Jeffress appointed Superintendent of the County Home. 5--L. G. Steinmetz and Miss Elizabeth Adams, were married at Boonville. 8--Joseph L. Judd, 71 years old, died at his home in Pilot Grove. 9--Mrs. George Lachner of California, the sister of George Brownfield, was fataly burned. 10--W. W. Gray celebrated his 80th birthday at the home of his son, W. A. Gray, east of Boonville, in Howard County. 14--James W. Morton, 67 years old, died at his home south of Boonville. 15--Capt. Charles Farris back on the Boonville ferry after an absence of twenty years. 16--J. R. Hedges, 39 years old, died at his home in Boonville. Joseph Youngkamp and Miss Maggie Judge were married at Clifton City. 22--Craig J. Stanfield and Miss Daisy Dorflinger of Pilot Grove were married by the Rev. L. C. Clark. 25--200 Kansas City Shriners were here and 15 Cooper County men crossed the hot sands to Mecca. Kemper Military School quarrintened on account of small pox. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schaumberg were surprised on their 25th anniversary by a large number of their friends and their children. 26--Mrs. Vic Colin, 67 years old, died at her home in Boonville. 28--Mrs. Moritz Schuster, 70 years old, died at her home near Lamine. MARCH 1--Entire block wiped out by fire in Bunceton. 11--E. W. Pfaffenberger was injured by a train at Gravette, Ark. Col. J. S. Elliott, 71 years old, kills himself at his home in Boonville with a revolver. 13--Mrs. Frank Reynolds, 40 years old, died at St. Joseph's Sanitarium. 14--Emil Huber of Blackwater and Miss Katherine Back of Boonville were married in Boonville. 18--Moritz Schuster died at his home near Lamine. Mr. Schuster was 75 years old. 18--Mrs. W. A. Reid, 70 years of age, died at her home in Boonville. 25--Victor Bros. moved into their new store. 28--George F. White, 63 years old, died at his home in Pilot Grove. 29--Mrs. Rebbeca Brown, 88 years old, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Harry Morgan, near Boonville. APRIL 6--Mrs. Anna Trigg Lionberger, 77 years old, died at her home in Boonville. 8--S. F. Mauck was elected Superintendent of Schools by a majority of 60 votes. Stonewall J. Coleman, (it looks like 47 years of age), died of heart failure at his home in Pilot Grove. Henry L. Lammers, 73 years old, died at his home in Pilot Grove. 12--C. M. Racey and Miss Rose Back were married by Rev. L. F. Clark. 15--L. F. Mitzel of near Pleasant Green instantly killed by a stump which he had blown up. 27--Mrs. William J. Wooldridge, 43 years old, died at her home in Wooldridge. MAY 2--Henry King and Miss Hermina Waller were married at Boonville. 5--Dr. F. R. Smiley and Mrs. Anna L. Martin were married in Boonville. 6--Richard Stegner, 8 years old, died at his home in Bell Air. 12--Charles Jaeger and Miss Bertha Moehle were married on the farm of Ernest Moehle near Boonville. 19--Mr. and Mrs. George Carl were surprised by a reunion of their children on their 35th anniversary. 29--Julius Sombart, 90 years old, died at his home in Boonville. John Zahringer of Pilot Grove seriously injured in a collision between his motorcycle and a car. The Missouri reached its highest point at Boonville. JUNE 3--The car of Miss Ida Belle Shannon hits freight train at Boonville. Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Nelson gave a housewarming to their friends at their $50,000 home, Eastwood. 10--Mrs. Laura Owens, 86 years old, died at her home in Boonville. Chester Byler, Leonard Windsor, and Bert Teel were injured when their motor car skidded at the Hurt turn on the Prairie Home road. 11--Miss Antonia Zschirpe died at her home in Boonville. 12--H. Max Herzog and Miss Corine Sahm were married at Boonville. 14--I. E. Alexander, pioneer citizen and contractor, 76 years old, died at his home in Boonville. P. W. Johnson and Mrs. Grace M. Mathis were married at St. Louis. 16--Carl E. Noyes and Miss Mary Elizabeth Volrath were married at Boonville. 20--The largest family reunion ever held in Cooper County was held at the home of Robert Lacy's near Prairie Home. The reunion was composed of the Lacy and W. H. Ellis families. 21--Chris Smith of Lone Elm, wins prizes at the Panama-Pacific Exposition. 22--A. B. Chrisman and Miss Edith M. Schieberl were married in Boonville. 23--Mrs. Anna M. Steinmetz, 55 years old, died at her home in Boonville. 25--Mrs. C. C. Snoddy, 38 years old, died at her home in Boonsboro. Walnut Grove Church dedicated. 26--G. H. Smith, a former Pilot Grove man, seriously wounds his wife and then kills himself in Sedalia. F. V. Potts of Springfield bought the steam ferry, Dorothy. Miss Kathryn Clark and Fred Sombart were married at the residence of the bride. JULY 7--Leo Felten won the Bunceton-Boonville road race. William Viertel was second and Frank Brickey a contested third. 11--Jim McCubbins hangs himself at Boonville as a result of being teased. 13--Mrs. Hile Hirsch died at her home in Versailles. 16--Mrs. Phillippine Langkop died at Lone Elm. 17--Jacob Deck, Jr., and Miss Mildred Mitchell were married in Boonville. 20--The Ferry, Dorothy, saves eight persons from plunging into the river when a car dashes down Wharf Hill. Grover Brownfield accidently killed when shotgun goes off. 21--Mrs. Robert McMahan of Lamine seriously burns her eye while making lye soap. 22. Mrs. Ben Powell, 63 (?) years old, died at her home in Boonville. 25--The car of C. S. Hirsch of Boonville hit handcar at M. K. & T. crossing and Mrs. Hirsch was injured. 28--Julius Kremer, 57 years old, dropped dead at his home in Boonville. Ben Nye leaves wife and children and goes away with woman he calls his mother. 30--Local company of National Guard attend annual encampment at Excelsior Springs. AUGUST 2--Light franchise given Sombart Light, Heat & Power Company. 7--Blackwater fire destroys the store of the J. A. Harris Mercantile Co. 8--Martha Higgerson, a 16-year-old Boonville girl, and Paul Goode elope in a boat. J. M. Adams sells poultry house. 9--William L. James and Miss Elvira Mills were married at Boonville. 13--B. Carlyle was discharged from Training School for clubbing a boy. 19--Owen Phillip Mills, 19 years old, died at his home in Boonville. Prairie Home Fair goes on in spite of rain and bad weather. 25--The Republican put out a daily newspaper on the Bunceton Fair grounds during the Bunceton Fair. 29--Lawrence Stretz and Ernest Stretz were injured when their car dashes off culvert on the Jefferson City road. SEPTEMBER 2--W. W. Gilbreath, 84 years old, died at his home in Boonville. 3--Republican installs largest type-setting machine in Missouri. 5--Mrs. Fannie Gray died at the home of Mrs. Wilbur Johnson. 8--Joseph Trester, 19 years old, died at his home in Boonville. 11--Ringling Brothers Circus at Boonville. 15--Miss Martha Higgerson and Paul Goode were married in Boonville. 16-A. Bauman, 79 years old, died as a result of fall from a ladder at his home in Boonville. Mrs. E. P. Lampkin, 75 years old, the sister of Judge W. M. Williams, died at her home in Clinton. OCTOBER 1--S. L. Rankin, 70 years old, dropped dead near his birthplace at Rankin's Mill. 4--Mrs. Anna Back, 75 years old, died at her home in Boonville. 5--Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Cunninham of Boonville celebrated there 63rd wedding anniversary. 8--The Bunceton postoffice was robbed of $196. 18--George Sahm, 83 years old, died at his home in Boonville. 23--Edward L. Melkersman and Miss Bertha Louise Bechtold were married at Boonville. William Schuster, 65 years old, and father of 21 children, died at his home in Pilot Grove. Mrs. Fred Dauwalter, 52 years old, died at her home in Boonville. 31--John Bornhauser of near Clark's Fork was killed when his car turned turtle on the Jefferson road. NOVEMBER 4--Cooper County Round-Up big success. Republican issues two daily newspapers of the show. 5--Judge Starke, 73 years old, died at his home in Otterville. 8--W. H. Harrison, 73 years old, dropped dead on the Santa Fe Trail. 9--Peter Miller, 71 years old, died at his home in Boonville. 16--Albert J. Meyer and Miss Anna M. Strickfadden were married at Pilot Grove. 17--Paul Hill of near Lamine and Miss Fay Sombart of Boonville were married in Marshall. Curley Potter and Miss Anna Schuster were married in Boonville. Leonard Brownfield and Miss Leona M. Rockwood were married at Pilot Grove. 19--Captain A. G. Tuttle, 82 years old, died at his home near Boonville. 23--Layton Miller and Miss Edna May Erhardt were married at Boonville. 24--Roscoe W. Stewart of Springfield and Miss Clara Louise Bell were married in the Boonville Presbyterian Church. 27--Ralph E. Bridges and Miss Flora Schmidt were married at Boonville. DECEMBER 2--Louis H. Levens died at his home in Kansas City. 3--Boonville local option election gave the wets a majority of 316. 6--S. H. Drinkwater and Miss Mary E. Short were married at Boonville. 7--Cooper County Local Option League called for a local option election for Cooper County. 12--Cooper County Permanent Roads Association formed. 13--Robert F. O'Brien, 91 years old, died at his home in Boonville. 15--Fred Ohlendorf and Miss Barbara Honerbrink were married at Marshall. 16--Judge and Mrs. W. M. Williams celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. 18--Frank Gerke was killed on his 42nd birthday by a falling tree. Samuel D. Figgins and Miss Iola Pulley were married at Speed. 24--Mrs. Lena Schiedegger, 76 years old, died at her home in Pilot Grove. Doctors estimate there are 1500 cases of la grippe in Cooper County. Maj. F. W. Pralle, 59 years old, died at his home in Boonville. Louis Meyer, 57 years old, died at his home in Pilot Grove. 26--Mrs. Maria C. Pinnell, 95 years old, died at her home in Boonville. 27--Miss Mary Robein of near Speed, died in Fulton. Hirsch Wholesale Grocer Company banquets its customers. 28--Miss Elizabeth Pearson, 56 years old, died at her home in Boonville. 29--George Reed and Miss Mary Dougherty, both of Blackwater, were married in Blackwater. 30--George Putnam and Miss Grace Roe were married in Bunceton. 31--J. B.
