Villages of Crawford County, Missouri - CONAWAY--SHOAL CREEK Shoal Creek founded many years ago was first called Conaway. About 1900 there was a post office, but nothing is known about its history. Years ago there was a little country store called Shoal Creek operated by Haskel Lefler but it too is now closed. The leading institution on Shoal Creek today is the Shoal Creek Baptist Church, a thriving country church and stands adjacent to a well kept cemetery. ------ CRAWFORD COUNTY AND CUBA MISSOURI James Ira Breuer, 1972 p. 112 ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
