Villages of Crawford County, Missouri - SEITZ The Seitz post office was established in May 1906 with Julius H. Seitz the first postmaster. The Seitz family moved from Oak Hill where Julius had served as the first blacksmith and as postmaster after August 1905. When J. H. Seitz moved to the newly purchased farm in the Iron Ridge community he opened a little grocery store. The post office and the store served the people in the neighborhood for a few years and was closed when the other post offices on the route were all closed. ------ CRAWFORD COUNTY AND CUBA MISSOURI James Ira Breuer, 1972 p. 76-77 ==================================================================== USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
