Lloyd William Cassidy
Lloyd William Cassidy was born at Dillard, Missouri on Monday, August 12,
1918, a son of the late Effie (Bell) and William Alfred Cassidy.
He entered eternal rest Friday, December 20, 2002, in the Missouri Baptist
Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 84 years, 4 months and 8
days.
On June 26, 1937, at the Steelville court house, Lloyd was united in
marriage to Mary Lou Talent. Five sons, Jimmy Ray, Lloyd Jr., Bill, Perry
and Terry, and three daughters, Fay, Doris and Carol were born to this
union. They enjoyed over 64 years together before her death on February 13,
2002.
In addition to his parents, William and Effie Cassidy, and his wife, Mary,
Lloyd was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Ray Cassidy, one sister, Faye
and husband Cliff Earney, sister-in-law, Bessie Cassidy, and
brothers-in-law, Floyd Bell, Ed Brown, Jim, John, Elvin, Jessie and Chris
Talent.
Among those who remain to mourn his passing are four sons and three
daughters, Fay and husband Don Chandler of Cherryville, Missouri; Doris and
husband Glen Snyder of Royal, Arkansas; Carol and husband Harry Evans of
House Springs, Missouri; Lloyd Cassidy, Jr. and wife Gay, Bill Cassidy and
friend Loretta, Perry Cassidy and Terry Cassidy all of Steelville,
Missouri.
Daughter-in-law, Sandy Cassidy of Cuba, Missouri; two brothers, Clarence
Cassidy and wife Bernice of California; Harry Cassidy of Salem, Missouri;
sisters-in-law, Lula Bell of Salem, Missouri and Nellie Brown of
Cherryville, Missouri; 19 grandchildren; several great grandchildren;
nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends who loved him
and will miss him.
Lloyd William Cassidy lay in state after 11 a.m. Sunday, December 22, 2002,
at the Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2002, in the
Britton Chapel with Dr. Cardis Bryan officiating.
Committal prayers and interment were in Ellis Cemetery, rural Salem,
Missouri. Pallbearers were Jeff Cassidy, Lloyd A. Cassidy, Rodney Cassidy,
Timothy W. Cassidy, Steve Evans and Jeff Gansmann.
Arrangments were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri.
Robert Campbell Jr.
Robert Campbell Jr. of Owensville, Missouri was born in Browning, Kentucky
to the union of Robert Campbell and Luney (Randolph) Campbell and passed
away on Sunday, December 22, 2002 at his home near Cuba, Missouri at the
age of 78 years 6 months and 21 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Jay Joel
Campbell, sister-in-law Pauline (Rose) Campbell, parents-in-law Ruby
(Johnson) Thomason and Charles D. Thomason.
On October 2, 1961 Robert was united in marriage to Leean Thomason in
Madison, Illinois.
Robert worked at the Granite City (now National) Steel in the BOF for 32
years retiring in January 1979. He was a member of Local 16 U.S.W.A.
He leaves behind his wife Leean Campbell, one daughter Deborah (Keith)
Jones of Woodward, Oklahoma, three sons Sam (Phyllis Mouser) Campbell of
Houston, Texas, Robert Lee Campbell of the family home and Donald Ray
Campbell and fiancé Brenda Bonner of Greenville, Illinois; one brother
Edward (Betty Jo Moore) Campbell of Morgenfield, Kentucky; daughter-in-law
Patricia (Erbar) Campbell of Centraila, Illinois.
Sisters-in-law Nell Grubbs of Madisonville, Kentucky, Betty Billick of
Venice, Illinois, Mary Jo Stratton of Granite City, Illinois, Georgia
Kittrell of Holly Hills, Florida, Janie Reynolds of Alton, Illinois;
brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Chin) Thomason of Spanaway, Washington, Charles
(Sara) Thomason of Tarkio, Missouri; many grandchildren and great
grandchildren; many special grandchildren and great grandchildren; many
nieces, nephews and many friends.
He did his best to leave lots of happy memories to all. When you think of
him, do it with a smile. He has left us, but he will never be forgotten.
Robert Campbell Jr. was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba,
Missouri where funeral services were held on Saturday, December 28, 2002 at
2 p.m. with Rev. Leo Robinson officiating.
Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of
Cuba, Missouri.
Marie Inez Gamblin
Marie Inez Gamblin nee Howdeshell was born Monday, May 18, 1931, at
Cherryville, Missouri, a daughter of the late Audry Alton Howdeshell and
Lillie Mae Elizabeth Howdeshell nee Wilson.
She entered eternal rest Thursday, December 12, 2002, at the Phelps County
Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Missouri, at the age of 71 years 6 months
and 24 days.
In addition to her parents, Marie was preceded in death by one grandson,
Jeremy Ramos; two sisters, Erma Lee Pearson and Darlene Asbury, and one
infant brother James Alton Howdeshelll.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her devoted daughter Connie
Sue and husband Fil Ramos of Lemoore, California; two loving sons, Ronald
A. Gamblin and Donald L. Gamblin and wife Janel all of St. Louis, Missouri;
one grandson, Robert "Bobby" Gamblin and one granddaughter, Malia Ramos.
Four sisters, Myrna Petty, Shirley Bradley, Ruby and husband Bob Szabolesky
all of St. Louis, Missouri, Dolly and husband Dan Vahey of Arnold,
Missouri, two brothers, Willis Howdeshell and wife Ruth of Crestwood,
Missouri and Don Howdeshell and wife Sondra of Snohomish, Washington; one
brother-in-law, Charles Pearson of Freeburg, Illinois; nieces, nephews,
cousins, other loving relatives and friends.

Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.

Cherryville, Missouri.
Serving as pallbearers were Donald and Ronald Gamblin, Brian, Kevin and
Steven Howdeshell and Gary L. Petty.
Arrangments were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri.
James Allen Hoke
James Allen Hoke of Cuba, Missouri was born on January 29, 1932 at
Blackwater, Missouri to the union of Francis Hoke and Elizabeth Thorpe Hoke
and passed away on December 22, 2002 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 70
years 10 months and 23 days.
On November 9, 1951 James was united in marriage to Hilda Jane Breeden at
Bethesda, Maryland. One son, Allen and three daughters, Sandra, Wanda and
Vickie were born to this union. They were happily married for 47 years
until Hilda preceded him in death on January 22, 1999.
James was a veteran, having proudly served his country in the army.
He was a member of the Cuba VFW Post #7147, member of the Moose Lodge of
Rolla, Missouri and a member of the Southside Conservation Foundation of
Missouri.
Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving son
Allen Hoke and wife Pam; three daughters Sandra Delcour and husband
Stanley, Wanda Myers and husband Lloyd and Vickie Bridgeman and husband
James.
Five brothers Junior Hoke, Frank Hoke and wife Henrietta, Joe Hoke, Tom
Hoke and wife Charlotte and Don Hoke and wife Sue; one sister Katherine
Adams; 11 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; other
relatives and many friends.
Graveside services for James Allen Hoke was provided by the Cuba VFW Post
#7147 and the Honor Guard was provided by the Missouri Reserves on Monday,
December 23, 2002 at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Interment
was in the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. All arrangments under
the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Mary Ann Lancaster
Mary Ann Lancaster was born on January 28, 1917 at Steelville, Missouri to
the union of Henry W. Peetz and Mary Ann Cummins Peetz and passed away on
December 19, 2002 at Brevard, North Carolina at the age of 85 years 10
months and 21 days.
On May 21, 1940 Mary Ann was united in marriage to James Joseph Lancaster
at Cuba, Missouri. Two sons, Joseph Timothy and James Patrick. James Joseph
preceded Mary Ann in death.
When Mary Ann lived in Cuba, Missouri, she was a member of Holy Cross
Church of Cuba, Missouri.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, one son Joseph Timothy
Lancaster and one sister Iona Parkin.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her loving son
James Patrick Lancaster; grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Mary Ann was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, good
friend to all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
Mary Ann Lancaster nee Peetz was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of
Cuba, Missouri where funeral services were held on Monday, December 23,
2002 at 1 p.m. with Father James Finder officiating.
Interment was in the Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri. All
arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba,
Missouri.
