Betty was united in marriage to the love of her life Irving Hudson on April 1, 1961. Together they shared 52 years of marriage. Betty was a homemaker. Taking care of her home and family were a very important part of her life. She enjoyed bowling, gambling, traveling, bingo, reading and being around people. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlie and Madeline Frederick; one son, Charles David O’Dell; two sisters, Deloris Parsons and Carol Ellis; three brothers, Carl, Jim and Ronnie Frederick. Jackson, nee Gavin, of Steelville, Missouri was born on Wednesday, November 5, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri to John William and Marie Virginia Wallace Gavin and passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at the age of 72 years, 1 month and 16 days. Joan married Erman Jackson on December 29, 1979 in St. Louis County. They moved from Bunker, Missouri to Steelville, Missouri in 1988 and she worked many years in the assembly line at Brown Shoe Company. She enjoyed her puppies, doing yard work, gardening, baking, and collecting angels. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Marie Gavin; brother, Donald Gavin and brother-in-law, Larry Babb. Curtis Joseph Kamler Curtis Joseph Kamler of Webb City, Missouri was born near Japan, Missouri on November 12, 1929 to Joe and Ida Kamler and passed away on Saturday December 28, 2013 at the age of 84 years. Curtis graduated from high school in Cuba, Missouri in 1948 and began his long teaching career that fall.  He taught grades 1-8 at Bailey and Taylor Schools in Cuba, Missouri while pursuing his college education.   He attended Southwest Baptist College, where he met his late wife Reba whom he married in 1951.   He received his Bachelor’s degree from Southwest Missouri State Teacher’s College and his Master’s degree from Kansas State College of Pittsburg.  Curtis taught high school industrial arts in Appleton City, Missouri for two years before moving to Webb City, where he taught from 1959 until his retirement in 1988, when the industrial arts center was named in his honor.   Throughout his career he received several honors, including the Southwest District Teacher of the Year award from the Missouri State Teachers Association and the Jim Coffee Inspirational Teacher award.   He was very active in the Missouri State Teacher’s Association, serving on legislative and executive committees and serving as President of the MSTA Southwest District in 1981.   He was instrumental in the development and passage of Proposition C in 1982 to better fund education in Missouri.  His passion for education prompted him to return to teaching part time for an additional nine years after his retirement. He was a long time member, Sunday school teacher, and deacon of First Baptist Church in Webb City, Missouri. Curtis enjoyed traveling with his wife Dee, whom he married in 1991. He also enjoyed fishing with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Reba; his daughter, Karen; sisters, Georgetta Shasserre and Marie Klouzek. He is survived by his wife, Dee; sons, Larry Kamler and wife Paula and Bill Kamler and wife Kathy; step-sons, John Stadler and wife Cathy and Robert Stadler and wife Jill; step-daughter, Cindy Lamere; brothers, Melvin Kamler and John Kamler; sister, Frances McNary; 17 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. LaPlant of Sullivan, Missouri was born on September 11, 1943 to Charles and Mildred (Miller) LaPlant in the state of Alabama and passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 at the age of 70 years, 3 months and 12 days. He lived his early years in Annapolis, Missouri and as a teenager moved to Sullivan, Missouri, where he lived the remainder if his life. Lynn honorably served his country in the United States Army and was discharged in June 1971. He was employed by N.B. West until retirement. He was united in marriage to Jeannie King. Lynn enjoyed hunting and fishing, but loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was known to like a good brawl now and then and was also known for his “hands.” He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mildred LaPlant; wife, Jeannie; one daughter, Lynnette LaPlant; and 11 brothers and sisters. On December 18, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri, Gladys was united in marriage to Glenn Luna and to this union two children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eliza Seaton; husband, Glenn Luna on August 21, 1994; son-in-law, Vernon Franke; four sisters, Lucille Seaton, Adda Bottorff, Beatrice Breuer and Delores Bennetsen; one grandson Matthew. Matthews of St. James, Missouri was born on December 12, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri to Josephine Reinwald and passed away Monday, December 23, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in St. James, Missouri at the age of 79 years. Theresa was united in marriage to Robert Matthews on July 30, 1949 and to this union four children were born. Theresa and Robert celebrated 63 of marriage in 2012. Theresa loved to cook and was able to turn her passion into her career. She cooked for many local restaurants along with always making her family delicious home cooked meals. She enjoyed sewing, being outdoors and the love and companionship of her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Josephine Reinwald; husband, Robert on February of 2013. She is survived by her children, Linda Peachey of St. James, Missouri, Brenda Chambers and husband Don of Vichy, Missouri, Ken Matthews of St. James, Missouri, Shelia Matthews of St. James, Missouri; grandchildren, Angelica Newton, Karen Tuthill, Harvey Cavinder, Robert Theberge, Theresa Theberge, Raymond Theberge, Billy Matthews, Tanny Sauers, Kristy Matthews and Bobby Matthews; 23 great  grand- children; two great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Robert “Bob” Lee Sharp Robert “Bob” Lee Sharp of St. James, Missouri was born on July 26, 1944 in Rolla to George and Viola (Price) Sharp and passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 at the age of 69 years. On May 4, 1971 he married Diana (Lin) Sharp in Taipei, Taiwan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served for 26 years.   He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Viola Sharp; five brothers, Jessie, Floyd, Woodrow, Bill and Mitchell; and two sisters, Mary Ann Shelton and Joann Sharp. He is survived by his wife, Diana Sharp; two sons, Andrew Sharp and wife Melissa and David Sharp; one brother, Edward Sharp and wife Mary Kay; four sisters, Viola Mae Sharp, Jennie Maxwell, Bonnie Brownsberger and Barbara Jarvis and husband Fred; three grandchildren, Thomas Casto, Logan Sharp and Shannon Sharp; other relatives and friends.
