Goldie J. Caldwell
Goldie J. Caldwell, nee McAllister, 97, of Pacific, died Sunday, December
24, 2000 at Beverly Nursing Center in Sullivan.
Mrs. Caldwell, daughter of the late Flavel M. McAllister and his wife Nora
B., nee Raper, was born March 29, 1903 at Norwood.
She received her education at Lallarge, Kansas and at the University of
Missouri. She taught school in Lebanon, Hallsville, Steelville and Pacific
grade schools.
She was married to Fred Caldwell and they were blessed with two children.
She was a member of Pacific Presbyterian Church and the P.E.O.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Fred
in 1967, by her son, Robert R. Caldwell Sr., and by her daughter, Virginia
Caldwell.
Among her survivors are one sister, Gladys Francois of Grovesprings; three
sisters-in-law, Vera McAllister of Illinois, Nina McAllister of St. Louis
and Osie McAllister of Illinois; two grandchildren, Katherine Spicer of
Bourbon and Robert R. Caldwell Jr. of Villa Ridge; eight great
grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins,
other relatives and friends.
Funeral service were held Friday, December 30, 2000 at Nieburg-Vitt-Thiebes
Funeral Home, Pacific, with Rev. Matthew Drumheller, officiant. Interment
was in Sunset Cemetery, Pacific.
Arrangements were in the care of Nieburg-Vitt-Thiebes Funeral Home,
Pacific.
Ida Mae Fox
Ida Mae Fox of Cuba, Mo. was born on June 26, 1940 at Pittsburg, Illinois
to Fred Fox and Lillie Fox nee Burnett and passed away on December 23, 2000
at the Missouri Baptist Hospital, Sullivan, Mo. at the age of 60 years, 5
months and 27 days.
Ida was preceded in death by her father, Fred Fox and one sister, Betty
Buckner.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her loving
daughter Kelly Fox; mother Lillie Fox Siburt; one sister Delores Huggins
and husband William; six stepbrothers Tommy Siburt and wife Carol, Glenn
Siburt and wife Martha, Roger Siburt and wife Betty, Gary Siburt and wife
Angie, Vincent Siburt and wife Dana and Joseph Siburt and wife Suzanne.
Five stepsisters Judy Utterson and husband James, Lavern Hosp and husband
Barry, Rosemarie Kopp and husband Thomas, Janet Siburt and Christine Campos
and husband Julian; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Ida devoted her life to raising her family. She was a devoted mother,
loving daughter, sister, stepsister, aunt, good friend to all who knew her
and will be sadly missed.
Ida Mae Fox was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. where
funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 27, 2000 at 2 p.m. with
Rev. Jack Shepard officiating. Interment was in the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba,
Mo. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home
of Cuba, Mo.
Mary Ruth Murray
Mary Ruth Murray of Bourbon passed away Thursday, December 21, 2000 at the
age of 92 years.
Mary was born May 16, 1908, third of eleven children, to the late Alfonzo
and Lula (Hull) Hawkins at Superior, Wisconsin. The Hawkins family later
moved to Missouri where Mary met and married Paul Edward Murray in 1927 at
Clayton, Mo. Four children were born to this marriage. After the children
were grown Mary and Paul moved to the state of California where Paul was
employed in the construction industry. In 1986, after retirement they moved
back to the Bourbon area. Mr. Murray preceded Mary in death on February 9,
1995.
Mary was a wonderful mother, not just to her own children but to many
others as well. Her own mother passed away at an early age and Mary raised
the children that were left at home. She also took in other members of her
family. She was known as a peacemaker, and her door was always open to
anyone who needed a home. Many of the qualities that she possessed,
strength, wisdom, kindness, were because of her strong faith in God. Mary
was a devoted Christian and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of
Bourbon.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Barbara Murray
of Bourbon, one brother, John Hawkins of Wright City, Mo., four sisters,
Lucille Harper, Muriel Palitzsch and Vivian Gardner, all of O'Fallon, Mo.,
Jane Hobbs of Paradise, California, twenty-three grandchildren, forty-six
great-grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other
relatives and many friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by two sons,
George Murray, Sr., and Richard Murray, one daughter, Dorothy O'Neil, two
brothers, Harold and Donald Murray, three sisters, Fern Hawkins, Eunice
Edmond, and Dorothy Hortsman, one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2000 from the
Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Rev. Jerry Tullier officiating. In lieu
of flowers memorials may be given to the Seventh Day Adventist Church of
Bourbon in memory of Mrs. Mary Murray.
Correction:
Concerning Joshua Callahan's obituary, the original copy had Machery Ruble
as pallbearer, it should of read Zachery Ruble.
