Gurley of Leasburg, Missouri was born on Monday, October 29, 1945 in Golden, Colorado to Ira William and Hallie "Evelyn" Licklider Gurley and passed away at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 26 days. Warren graduated from Lynwood High School in Lynwood, California and then attended Compton Community College. He worked in electronics for many years and then after he moved to Missouri he worked at McDonald's in St. James, Missouri where he also retired. Warren accepted the Lord early in life and attended First Baptist Church of Leasburg, Missouri. Warren was a people person. He talked to people all over the world on his CB handheld radio and was also a member of the local HAM Radio Club. Warren also loved trains, which he collected models and enjoyed living by the railroad tracks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Evelyn Gurley; brother, R. Keith Gurley; and niece, Sonja Starkey. He is survived by his sisters, LaDonna Perry of Burlington, Kentucky and Cynthia (Paul) Sumner of Newport Beach, California; sister-in-law, Susanne Gurley of Scott, Louisiana; companion, Wanda Heads of Leasburg, Missouri; other relatives and friends. A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at the Licklider Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri with Bro. Paul Ransom officiating. Minnie "Sue" Kuehn Minnie "Sue" Kuehn of Sullivan, Missouri was born in Hickman, Kentucky on December 17, 1940 to James Howard and Lucy Marie (Johnson) Green and passed away Monday, December 21, 2020 at the age of 80 years. Sue married Joseph P. Kuehn. She was an avid cook, she enjoyed training her dogs and she loved country western music by Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley. Sue loved red and yellow roses. Some of her favorite past times were roller skating, dancing on skates and singing in choirs. For many years, Sue taught Sunday school, as well as Bible school, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Kuehn on March of 1990; parents, James and Lucy Green; and one brother, Robert E. Palmer. She is survived by her children, Joseph "Michael" Kuehn and wife Kim of Sullivan, Missouri, Patty Hofer and husband Eric of Chicago, Illinois, Penny Lloyd and husband Brett of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Gary Kuehn and wife Robbin of Ozawkie, Kansas, Anna Parker of Cuba, Missouri, Peggy Turnbough of Cuba, Missouri, and Laura Ripley of Murphysboro, Illinois; 15 grandchildren, Tyler, Richard, Nicholas, Joe, Mindy, Chris, Jamie, Anthony, Danny, Johnny, Shawn, Rickie, Rickey, Naureen and Allan; numerous great grandchildren; one sister, Ollie of Oklahoma; other relatives and friends. Anne Elizabeth Larson Anne Elizabeth (Priuska) Larson of Sullivan, Missouri was born in Negaunee, Michigan on December 28, 1933 to Matt and Olga (Saukko) Priuska and passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the age of 86 years. Her parents immigrated from Finland to Michigan. Anne graduated from Negaunee High School in 1952. She married Merrill Larson on December 27, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Negaunee, Michigan. At the time, Merrill was enlisted in the United States Air Force and was stationed in England. During his time in the service, they also lived in Texas and Massachusetts before returning to Michigan. The Larson family moved to Grants, New Mexico in 1958 and to Sullivan, Missouri in 1964. Anne was employed at the Sullivan Hospital for a total of 34 years. She was a nurse's aide for 10 years, a medical secretary for three years and then in the admitting department of the emergency room for 21 years. Also, during this time, she worked as a part-time secretary at St. Matthew Lutheran Church for nearly ten years. Anne was an avid reader and she attended Concordia Lutheran Church in Bourbon, Missouri. In her younger years, she was in a bowling league here in Sullivan, Missouri. Helen Rose McDermott Helen Rose McDermott of Sullivan, Missouri was born in Indian Creek, Missouri on March 22, 1936 to Edward and Rosa (Bailey) Schoenfeld and passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the age of 84 years. Helen worked in the cafeteria of St. John's Mercy Hospital in Washington., Missouri She often told stories of working at the old hospital and then when it moved to the new building. Helen married Francis J. Hoke. In 1985 she married Patrick McDermott. They served the Lord together and shared their love of dogs. Helen loved her roses. Helen gave her life to the Lord as a child. Her dad exchanged the neighbor a ride to town for piano lessons for Helen. She faithfully used this gift in church and played for the residents once she was in the nursing home. She was a member of Full Gospel Assembly of God for over 30 years, teaching children in Sunday School and teaching in the Nursing Home ministry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick McDermott; one great great grandchild, Rae-leigh Hoke; two brothers; and one sister. She is survived by her five boys, Bobby Hoke and friend Linda of Robertsville, Missouri, Gene Hoke and wife Connie of Sullivan, Missouri, Kenny Hoke and wife Joyce of Bourbon, Missouri, Ray Hoke and wife Liz of Doniphan, Missouri and Howard Hoke and wife Katie of Sullivan, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren, plus one more on the way; one sister, Marie Schoenfeld; other relatives and friends. Charles Curtis Martin Charles Curtis Martin of Belle, Missouri was born April 28, 1948 in Clarksburg, Missouri to Curtis J. and Melva (Winebrenner) Martin and passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at the age of 72 years. He attended school in Clarksburg, Missouri and then in California, Missouri. After school he went to work for Gerhart Concrete Construction where he was employed for 30 years. He then was employed by Enloe Aluminum, installing gas station canopies for 10 years. Later he was employed by the Missouri Department of Corrections as an officer and retired from there after 10 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, puzzle books, game shows, playing the lottery and Kansas City Chiefs football. His loved his dog, Auggie who passed away December 11, 2020. Charlie liked to shoot the breeze and his all-time two favorite television shows were Survivor and Big Bother. He never missed an episode or season of either one. In 1989 Charles met Alice Cheryl Olsen in Eldon, Missouri. They remained together until Cheryl passed away on April 17, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Jess and Melva Martin; companion, Cheryl: and a sister, Charlotte Brandt. He is survived by his children, Tina Cox and husband Wesley of Belle, Missouri, Curtis Martin and wife Lisa of Holts Summit, Missouri, Angelique Degraffenried and husband Daryl of Blue Springs, Missouri and Kimberly Martin of St. James, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Matthew Arnold of Eldon, Missouri, Benny Wright, Curtis Martin Jr. and wife Callie of Colorado Spring, Colorado, Charles Martin and Destanee Martin, all of Holts Summit, Missouri, Ishmul Martin of Owensville, Missouri, Jadrien Martin of Gerald, Missouri and Arieanna Stewart of St. James, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Taya and Dreson Ellis of Blue Springs, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Roger Maxwell Miller Roger Maxwell Miller of Bourbon, Missouri was born on October 13, 1944 and passed away Saturday, December 26, 2020 at the age of 76 years. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley; two sons, Lyle Miller and Shawn Miller and wife Kara; daughter, Lynn and husband Eric Huck; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three sisters, Barbara Pinnell, Carol Clonts and Crystal Richards; one brother, Bill Miller; other relatives and friends. Jennielou "Lou" Leonard Morton Jennielou "Lou" Leonard Morton was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 27, 1928 to Gilbert A. and Myrna M. (Plank) Leonard and passed away January 1, 2021 at the age of 92 years, 7 months and 5 days. While she was young, the family moved to Dent County, Missouri to be near the Leonard and Plank families. They moved back to St. Louis, Missouri for her father's work, where Lou attended grade school and graduated from Maplewood High School. Lou met her husband, E.W. "Tex" Morton on a blind date with friends. He was stationed at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois. He served flying missions over the Balkan countries and France. After completing 51 missions he returned to the states and Lou kept her promise to marry him (She was only 16). Returning to St. Louis, Missouri, Lou finished her high school studies and worked while Tex completed his service in the Air Force. Lou worked various jobs, usually in a bookkeeping capacity. She was an expert seamstress. The family moved to Vernon, Texas. Tex's construction skills took the family to Sherman, Wichita Falls, Irving and Amarillo, Texas. Every house they ever lived in was either designed, built, remodeled or upgraded by both Tex and Lou. They moved back to St. James, Missouri in 1967. Lou retired from her work with Contel Telephone in 1988, and they began traveling. They visited all 50 states, Mexico and Canada. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2014. Lou enjoyed photography and always had her camera handy. Lou and Tex were members of the St. James Christian Church, and later at Ozark Highlands Christian Church in Rolla, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tex Morton; her parents, G.A. and Myrna Leonard; mother and father-in-law, E.F. and Mary Morton; sister, Ellamae Risner Bucher; sister-in-law, Mary C. Yarbrough; and brothers-in-law, Jim Risner, Al Bucher, Tommy King and Jimmy Yarbrough. Collin Michael Oetting Collin Michael Oetting of Concordia, Missouri was born on August 19, 1997 in Rolla, Missouri to Kimberly Loughridge Oetting and Michael Spangler and passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the age of 23 years. Collin lived in Concordia, Missouri most of his life and was a 2016 graduate of Saint Paul Lutheran High School. Following graduation, he attended Concordia University Nebraska in Seward, Nebraska and East Central Community College in the Rolla area. He was currently employed at Heins Family Farms in rural Higginsville, Missouri and was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia, Missouri.
