Wilma Fern Turnbough Bell
Wilma Fern Turnbough Bell, nee Pitts, of Davisville, Missouri was born
March 4, 1922 in Salem, Missouri to Henry Harrison and Opal Jeraldine
Peters Pitts and passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Missouri
Baptist Medical Center in Sullivan, Missouri, at the age of 89 years.
She was united in marriage to Louie Turnbough in 1939 and to this union
three children were born. She later married Russell Bell.
Wilma was a member of the Cherryville Baptist Church. She retired in
October of 1987 from Brown Shoe after working there many years.
She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed
riding around the countryside, researching family history and visiting
cemeteries.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Opal Pitts; her son,
Gary Turnbough; two brothers, Raymond Pitts and Rainey Pitts and one
son-in-law, Joe Bobbitt.
She is survived by her two daughters, Vicki Brown and husband Jack of
Davisville, Missouri and Dixie Bobbitt of Cherryville, Missouri; one
daughter-in-law, Darlene Turnbough of Cherryville, Missouri; one
sister-in-law, Bettye Pitts of Ocala, Florida; eight grandchildren,
Steve England, Stacey England, Melody Allen and husband Tim, Jeff
Turnbough and wife Tonya, Kip Turnbough and wife Tracey, Paula O’Neail,
Lisa Turnbough and husband Glendel and LeAnn Brown; 14 great
grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Doug
Windle officiating. Special music selections were played by granddaughter
Melody Allen. Prayer was given by grandson Jeff Turnbough and memories
were shared by granddaughter Lisa Turnbough.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in
Salem, Missouri.
Casket bearers were Jeff Turnbough, Luke Turnbough, Steve England,
Stacey England, Kip Turnbough and Eric O’Neail.

Herman E. “Benny” Benson
Herman E. “Benny” Benson of St. James, Missouri was born on March 16, 1938
in St. James, Missouri to Herman Edward and Ruby Stambaugh (McDonald) Benson
and passed away at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on
Monday, January 2, 2012 at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 17 days.
Benny Benson Benny was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Parrish on
November 18, 1961 at the St. James Christian Church in St. James, Missouri.
Benny worked for the St. James Volunteer Fire Department for 15 years;
also for UMR for 24 years; International Shoe Company for 6 years; Bowling
Coachlite in Rolla, Missouri for five years, and also for the Jess Nelson
Bowling Alley and the Movie Theatre in St. James, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Edward Benson; his mother,
Ruby Stambaugh (McDonald) Benson and step-father, Wilbur Stambaugh.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy of St. James, Missouri; one son,
Bruce Benson and wife Laura of St. James, Missouri; one brother,
Lawrence “Larry” Braziel and wife Sue of Portland, Maine; three
sister-in-laws, Alice Gnemi; Helen Harris; and Shirley Parrish; one
special grandson, Jeremiah; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 5, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at
the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, January 6, 2012 at 11 a.m.
at the Jones Funeral Home with Craig Rippy officiating. Music was
furnished by Avis Rainbolt the vocalist and organist Becky Rippy.
Pallbearers were Randy Ray, Don Licklider, Tom Brown, Bruce Parton,
John Douglas and Scott McWhorter and honorary pallbearers were the
St. James Fire Protection District.
Burial was in the family plot in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens in
Rolla, Missouri.

Jack Hershel Bouse
Jack Hershel Bouse of St. James, Missouri was born on May 6, 1931 in Butts,
Missouri to John James and Maggie Belle (Sites) Bouse and
passed away at his home on Monday, January 9, 2012 at the age of 80 years,
8 months, and 3 days.
Jack enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting wood, Cardinal ballgames (and heated
discussions of the managers skills and the players lack of them), playing
with the grandchildren, walking in the woods. He lived most of his life in
Missouri except for five years, which he and his wife, Julie, lived on the
coast of Alabama. Jack had a small orchard of citrus trees, walked the
beaches collecting shells, weathered two severe hurricanes, went deep-sea
fishing, trapping for crab and enjoyed visiting the old plantations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John James and Maggie Belle Bouse;
daughter, Julie Ratliff; brothers, Bill, Luther, Ron, Dick, Pete, and Chuck
Bouse; sisters, Betty Jo Bouse, Verna Ayers, Eileen Winer and Vera Lee
Hewkin; brothers-in-law, Armin Ayers and Jerry Winer; and sister-in-law,
Joanne Bouse.
He is survived by his wife Judith (Julie) Bouse of St. James, Missouri;
daughters, Deanna Wiggins and husband Michael of Ardmore, Alabama, Phyllis
Lacy and husband Terry of Lonedell, Missouri, Susan Ealer and husband Jimmy
of Steelville, Missouri, Maria DeBord and husband Steven of St. James,
Missouri, Rita Carpenter and husband Daniel of St. James, Missouri; brother,

Burial was in the family plot in the St. James Cemetery.

Dr. James Neil Braden
Dr. James Neil Braden of Jonesboro, Arkansas, was born to Alton and
Lucille Braden on July 4, 1938 and passed away December 24, 2011, at the age
of 73 years. He was raised in Childress, Arkansas. He attended the University
of Arkansas and graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia,
Arkansas.
It was at Ouachita where he met Ella Blackmon, who became the love of his
life.
He earned Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Education from the University of
Missouri at Columbia, Missouri.
Jim enjoyed a distinguished 40-year career in public education. The first
30 years spent in Missouri and the last 10 years in Arkansas. During the
final 23 years of his career, he led, as Superintendent, school systems in
St. James, Missouri; Waynesville, Missouri; Dardanelle, Arkansas and most
recently, the Green County Tech school system in Paragould, Arkansas.
He served as member and later chair of the Missouri State High School
Activities Association, which governed all high school sports in the
state.
Jim was a sports fan and was a follower of the St. Louis Cardinals, the
Arkansas Razorbacks and the Missouri Tigers. He loved spending time in his
workshop and around the yard, as well as planning trips to see the country
with Ella. Regardless of where they lived, Jim and Ella have been devoted
members of a local Baptist church. Through the years he served as a deacon
and Sunday School teacher, and worked on numerous committees. He served as
chair of the Building Committee at the First Baptist Church of Paragould,
and oversaw the construction of their new Multi-Ministry Center. He was an
active member of the First Baptist Church of Jonesboro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Lucille Braden.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ella of Jonesboro, Arkansas; sons,
James Edward Braden and wife Brooksie of Dallas, Texas and William Thomas
Braden and wife Susan of Richmond, Virginia; daughter, Rachel Elizabeth
Braden Moix and husband Chris of Shawnee, Kansas; grandchildren, Katherine
Lee Braden, James Brooks Braden, Ashley Renee Braden Bell and husband Rossi,
John Reed Braden, Jake Taylor Moix, Abbie Grace Moix, Mia Louise Moix and
Noah Joseph Moix; great granddaughter, Haley Renee Bell; sister, Peggy
Braden Smith and husband Larry of Waco, Texas; other relatives and freinds.
Visitation was Monday, December 26, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at the Emerson
Funeral Home, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11 a.m. at
the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Arkansas, the Reverend Bruce Tippit
officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were Jim’s three grandsons, as well as Jerry Barnes,
Jim Miles, Bob Hout, Harrell Stark and Norman Myers.
Family burial was private.

Jack P. Carollo
Jack P. Carollo of Sullivan, Missouri was born in Sullivan, Missouri at
the old Northside Hospital on June 28, 1954 to Pete and Norma (Berti)
Carollo and passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the Missouri
Baptist Sullivan Hospital age of 57 years, six months and one day.
He was a life-long resident of Sullivan and graduated from Sullivan High
School in 1972. Jack was employed in various jobs between the time he
graduated and was married. He enjoyed in his spare time riding
motorcycles and racing in Enduro and Hare Scrambles.
On September 15, 1984 Jack was united in marriage to Rebecca Kim Burnett
at Sullivan, Missouri.
He then became self-employed as a locksmith and also had an awards and
trophy business on the side. Jack loved fishing on the river and in Canada
and was also an expert marksman. He found pleasure in cooking, especially
Italian cuisine. Jack was an Apple computer fanatic, was a classic rock
fan, enjoyed bonfires, barbeques and pool volleyball. On a weekly basis,
Jack had lunch or breakfast with his aunts and cousins. Family was his
dearest possession; he was fiercely independent and had a big heart. He
enjoyed talking to everyone and never knew a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Kim of the family home; two aunts, Vivian
Carbone and Vera Bell; a host of cousins, Jack and Melinda Carbone and
family, Jack and Laura Carollo and family, Concetta Sellers, Lou and Peggy
Carollo and family, Bob Carollo and Juanita Schuler and family, Mark and
Barb Austin and family, Michael Austin, Damon and Mary Jo Berti and family,
Dick and Judy Berti and family, Deanne Weber and family, Jerry Berti and
family, Robert Berti and family, Norma Lee Hill and family; special
friends, Chris and Karen Yoest, Carl and Kelly Sohn, Jim and Deb Jones,

A visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2012 at the
Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.

Charles Edward Coggins
Charles Edward Coggins of Leasburg, Missouri was born on January 10, 1952
in Blytheville, Arkansas to John Marvin and Jean (Adkirson) Coggins and
passed away Friday, January 6, 2012 at the age of 59 years.
Charlie, as most knew him, honorably served his country in the US Army.
He married Sharon Kay Hansel on August 18, 1979 in Arnold, Missouri.
Charlie retired from the UAW Local 110 after working at the Chrysler plant
in Fenton, Missouri. Charlie really enjoyed spending time with his family,
barbecuing and playing with the kids. “Good Time Charlie” as he was
referred to by his motorcycle friends, was adored by children and was a
big kid himself with a colorful personality and sometimes language.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of the family home; five children,
Anthony “Todd” Dunn and wife Christie of Rolla, Missouri, Sean Dawson and
wife Shannon of Festus, Missouri, Dawn Coggins and fiancé Terry “Jim”
Johnson of Rosebud, Carrie Toon and husband Brad of Lubbock, Texas, and
Celina Coggins and friend Troy Steller of Fenton, Missouri; his father,
John Marvin Coggins of St. Louis, Missouri; two brothers, Theodore Coggins
and wife Oxsun of Scottsdale, Arizona and John Coggins and wife Billie of
Imperial, Missouri; a sister, Donna Turner and fiancé Carl of Desoto,
Missouri; 14 grandchildren: Brooke, Rob, Chris, Alyssa, Olivia, Luke,

Gregory Alen Gilmore
Gregory Alen Gilmore of St. James, Missouri, was born February 5, 1948 in
St. Louis, Missouri to Francis Marion and Maxine Irene (Matlock) Gilmore
and passed away Monday, January 2, 2012 at his home at the age of 63 years,
10 months and 28 days.
On June 22, 1968, at Hazelwood, Missouri, Gregory was united in marriage
to Donna Lou Modglin.
Greg was in the Machinist Union of over 30 years, mostly working in
St. Louis, Missouri. He moved with his family to St. James, Missouri in
1999, and enjoyed his fishing and hunting and being with family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Marion Gilmore.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, of St. James, Missouri, of 44 years;
mother, Maxine Gilmore of St. James, Missouri; son, David Alan Gilmore
and his wife Theresa of Troy, Missouri; one daughter, Jeannie Louise Spiller
and her husband Jonathon of Troy, Missouri; brother, Gerald Wayne Gilmore
of Wentzville, Missouri; one sister, Debora Weidner of Florida; four
grandchildren, Peyton, Erica, Isabella and Jared; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation began at noon Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Jones Funeral
Home in St. James, Missouri.
Services were conducted at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the
Jones Funeral Home with military honors following the service.

Elsie Mae Lottmann
Elsie Mae Lottmann of Owensville, Missouri was born April 7, 1938, at
Jakes Prairie, Missouri, to Henry and Gertrude (Spurgeon) Dueker and passed
away Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Capital Region Medical Center in
Jefferson City, Missouri at the age of 73 years.
On July 14, 1956, in Gasconade County, she was united in marriage to
Kenneth Lottmann.
Elsie was a member of the Owensville Christian Church. She and her
husband owned and operated Elsie’s and Ken’s Cafe in Rosebud, Missouri for
many years. She also sold Stanley products.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Gertrude Dueker; four
brothers, Larue, Donald, Jerry and Tommy Dueker; three sisters, Hazel
Schmidt, Fay Fuchs and Merle Eatherton.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Lottmann of Owensville, Missouri;
four children, Sharon Mace and husband Gary of Cuba, Missouri, Ronald
Lottmann and wife Phyllis of Rosebud, Missouri, Beverly Klausner of
Owensville, Missouri and David Lottmann and wife Ellen of Owensville,
Missouri; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; other relatives
and friends.

Kathy (Mary) Macklin
Kathy (Mary) Macklin of Sullivan, Missouri was born on May 8, 1934 at
Flat River, Missouri to Edward and Betty Marler and passed away on
Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the age of 77 years.
She was raised and later graduated from high school at Flat River and
moved to Sullivan, Missouri in 1962. Kathy was employed at Meramec
Industries in Sullivan and at the same time raised six children by
herself. She was first married to David White but after a time
divorced. She later was married to James Macklin.
Kathy found pleasure in needlepoint, Bingo, yard sales and reading.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene, the Fraternal Order of
Eagle Auxiliary and held several offices there and lastly the V.F.W.
Auxiliary of Sullivan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Betty Marler; and
husband, James in 1998 and a grandson, Brandon White.
She is survived by three sons, Michael White of Houston, Texas, Ken
White and wife Janice of Friendship, Tennessee and Robert White and
wife Angel of Bourbon, Missouri; three daughters, Sherry Sanders and
husband Tony of St. Louis, Missouri, Terry Luecke and husband Jim of
Sullivan, Missouri, Sandy Smith and husband Mike of Robertsville,
Missouri; a step-daughter, Linda Davis of Sullivan, Missouri;
14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2012 from
the Eaton Funeral Home Southside Chapel in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday,
January 4, 2012 at the Eaton Funeral Home Southside Chapel in Sullivan,
Missouri with Jim Reed officiating.
Interment was in the Odd Fellows Memorial Cemetery in Sullivan,
Missouri.

Richard Carl Scott
Richard Carl Scott was born on June 19, 1948 and passed away on
December 20, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Richard enlisted in the US Navy, where he served as a Medic in Vietnam.
He also served with the US Coast Guard. He lived in Mobile, Alabama for
the last 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Bonnie Jenkins Scott;
his parents, Raymond Stanley and Roberta J. McIndoo Scott.
He is survived by three daughters, Bobbie (Mitch) Ferguson of Portage,
Indiana, Gillian (Cecil) Caldwell and Geneva Scott of Mobile, Alabama;
seven grandchildren; two brothers, Stan (Pat) Scott of Steelville, Missouri
and Larry Scott of MacClenny, Florida; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Friday, December 27, 2011 at 6 p.m. at
the Cedar Grove Baptist Church of Theodore, Alabama.
Henry T. Slovenksy
Henry T. Slovensky of Steelville, Missouri was born on Sunday, May 11, 1919
in Steelville, Missouri to Ed and Stell Brown Slovensky and passed away on
Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Gibbs Care Center at the age of 92 years,
7 months and 18 days.
He married Vivian Campbell on November 21, 1940 in Cherryville, Missouri
by Sam Roper and to this union four children were born.
He served his country honorably in the United States Army during WWII and
was a member of the VFW Post #6479. He made a profession of faith early in
life at Liberty Methodist Church. He was a member and deacon at Center
Point Baptist Church, Steelville, Missouri. He was a life-long resident of
Crawford County and was a former Crawford County Road District worker. He
was a former chief deputy serving under Crawford County Sheriff Mont
Turnbough. He worked 22 years and retired as a maintenance man from Brown
Shoe Co. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, and a
great storyteller, also a Crawford County Historian.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Stell Slovensky;
daughter, Joyce Marie Slovensky; one great great grandson, Simon Slovensky;
one brother, Ernest (Marie) Slovensky; two sisters, Elizabeth Smith and
Mary Lou (Robert) Woods; sister-in-law, Luna Slovensky; parents-in-law,
Francis and Margaret Campbell.
He is survived by his wife, Vivian of Steelville, Missouri; children,
Thomas (Donna) Slovensky and Ronald (Tena) Slovensky, all of Steelville,
Missouri and Terry (Sally) Slovensky of St. Charles, Missouri; brother,
Edward Slovensky of Fair Oaks, California; brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Edward (Fern) Campbell of Steelville, Missouri, Mary

Floyd “Dale” Stulce
Floyd “Dale” Stulce of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri,
was born on Thursday, December 14, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri to Fred
Marion and Rosalee Gilliam Stulce and passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012
at the age of 61 years and 18 days.
Dale married Nona Rena Wilkinson on May 19, 1979 in Steelville, Missouri.
He worked at Eagle trailers in Cuba, Missouri, then later for GMR
Enterprises in Sullivan, Missouri. His hobbies were hunting, fishing,
camping, watching NASCAR races and sports. He was a cut-up and liked to tease.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Rosalee Stulce;
father-in-law, Johnny “Tim” Wilkinson; brothers, Homer “Sonny” Stulce,
Fred Jr. “Jobie” Stulce and Barry “Lynn” Stulce; brother-in-law, Lovell

Mickey L. Summers
Mickey L. Summers of Steelville, Missouri was born on Monday,
October 1, 1973 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on Friday,
January 6, 2012 at the age of 38 years, 3 months and 5 days.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Calvin Greenwalt and James
Land; grandmother, Louise Skiles; sister, Rhonda Bridgett; brothers,
Daniel Leonard and Bobby Skiles.
She is survived by her mother, Cathy Greenwalt of Steelville, Missouri;
father William Skiles of St. Louis, Missouri; husband, Michael Summers of
St. Louis, Missouri; daughters, Jamie Skiles of Cuba, Missouri and
Stephanie Skiles Jones of Steelville, Missouri; sons, Joshua Skiles of
Steelville, Missouri and Michael Summers, Jr. of Cuba, Missouri;
grandson, Cameron Skiles; grandmother, Dorothy Land of Steelville,
Missouri; sister, Chrissy (Danny) Jones of Steelville, Missouri and brother,
Tim (Tracy) Granger of Maplewood, Missouri; sister-in-law, Linda Leonard
of Warrenton, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation Wednesday, January 11, 2012 from 5-7 and funeral service at
7 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Delmar
Hutson officiating.

Wayne Christifer Taylor
Wayne Christifer Taylor of Steelville, Missouri was born on Saturday,
August 26, 1967 in Sacramento, California to Harry and Charlotte Taylor
and passed away on Monday, January 2, 2012 at the age of 44 years,
4 months and 7 days.
Wayne went to High School in Red Bluff, California where he was on the
high school diving team and won several ribbons and trophies. He also
was a former Northern CA State Diving Champion. After high school he worked
a short time as a logger. After moving to Missouri in 2004, Wayne worked
for McGinnis Sawmill, Dana Brake Factory, Barton Construction and most
recently at Odd Jobber Construction in Cuba, Missouri. His hobbies were
hunting, fishing, camping, and working on cars. He enjoyed the outdoors
and having BBQ’s.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and brother, Paul Taylor.
He is survived by his wife, Tracy Hackett Taylor of Steelville, Missouri;
children, Christopher Taylor of Sullivan, Missouri, Sarena Taylor of Cuba,
Missouri, Rayanna Hackett and Megan Taylor, all of Steelville, Missouri;
brothers, Steve (Mellissa) Taylor of Cook Station, Missouri, David Taylor
of Red Bluff, California, Joseph (Martha Jean) Taylor of Redding, California
and Harry Taylor III of Washington; sisters, Cheryl (Jeff) Nielsen of
Paynes Creek, California and Louetta Bullinton of Red Bluff, California;
other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service is Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Hutson
Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with Bro. John Cramer officiating.

Mary Ann Townley
Mary Ann Townley of Cuba, Missouri was born Friday, July 20, 1923 at
Salem, Missouri to Silas A. and Mary Ellen (nee Massie) Phillips and
passed away Thursday, December 29, 2011 at Cuba Manor at the age of 88
years.
Mary Ann was united in marriage to James H. “Bud” Townley in 1962 at
Los Angeles, California.
Mary Ann spent her life taking care of her home; shopping and she always
loved having her dogs with her. She enjoyed dancing to Big Band music
and collecting rocks from her and Bud’s trips in their motorhome.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Silas and Mary Ellen Phillips;
her husband, Bud in 1989; five brothers, Hadley, Dale, Chester, Marvin
and George Phillips; two sisters, Lois Phillips and Arlene Sparks; other
relatives and friends.
She is survived by her two brothers, Silas A. “Bob” Phillips of
Springfield, Missouri and William D. “Bill” Phillips of St. Peters,
Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Memorial visitation was held on Saturday, January 7, 2012 at 10 a.m.
until time of memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home in
Cuba, Missouri.
Inurnment and prayers followed at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 7, 2012 at
Cedar Grove Cemetery, Salem, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba,
Missouri.
