John T. Brown
John T. Brown of Meta, Missouri was born on Thursday,
October 12, 1967 in Lake Forest, Illinois to Bob Brown and Nell
Courtney Brown. He passed away at the age of 38 years, 2 months and
18 days on Friday, December 30, 2005, at University Medical Center,
Columbia, Missouri, from injuries sustained in an automobile
accident.
John was employed at Hart Furniture in Corning, Arkansas
for 15 years until moving to Meta, Missouri due to health problems.
He married Brandy L. Turrentine at Meta Christian Church in Meta,
Missouri on May 1, 2005. John had a great love for his family and
home.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Clara and
Glen Courtney, grandfather Harvey Brown and mother-in-law Vetrea
Peoples.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife
Brandy of the home; one daughter Danie Brown of Poplar Bluff,
Missouri; two brothers Mike Brown and fiancé Lori Miller and Jamie
Brown and wife Beth, all of Meta, Missouri; one sister Tammy Sue
Hart of Parkersburg, West Virginia.
Grandmother Blanche Brown of Meta, Missouri;
father-in-law Eugene Peoples of Engelburg, Arkansas; sister-in-law
and brothers-in-law Leeanna Sisco and husband James of Naylor,
Missouri, J.D. LeRoux and wife Lisa of Doniphan, Missouri and Jimmy
LeRoux and wife Susan of Indiana; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces,
nephews, cousins and a host of good friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, January 3, 2006 from 5-9 p.m. at
Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 11
a.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with Brother Bob
Courtney officiating.
Musical selections were "Eastern Gate", "Long Black
Train", and "Go Rest High on that Mountain" sung by Cindy Kampeter.
Burial at Cherryville Baptist Cemetery, Cherryville, Missouri with
pallbearers Jerry Courtney, Brian Matheny, Jason Matheny, Tyler
Sisco, Josh Maynard and David Johnson.
All arrangements under the direction of Hutson Funeral
Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Marie G. Hamm
Marie G. Hamm of Cuba, Missouri, was born at St. Louis
Missouri on March 4, 1911 to the union of Thomas and Charlotte (nee
Mason) Klonowski and passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at the
age of 94 years, 9 months and 29 days at the Life Care Center in St.
Louis, Missouri.
Marie was united in marriage to Leman Jenkins on July
25, 1931 and then to Edward J. Hamm on April 8, 1967 at St. Louis,
Missouri.
Marie had been a devoted homemaker since moving to Cuba
and was known to the Indian Hills community, as the lady who walked
all the time. Marie was a member of the Indian Hills Ladies
Auxiliary, Holy Cross Alter Society and the Senior Center of Cuba.
Marie is preceded in death by her husbands Leman Jenkins
and Edward J. Hamm; one son Lester Jenkins; and her parents.
Those who survive to mourn her passing are her son
Thomas Jenkins of St. Louis, Missouri; one stepson Edward Joseph
Hamm and wife Barbara of Chesterfield, Missouri; one stepdaughter
Sister Margaret Hamm of St. Louis, Missouri; four grandchildren
John, James and Paul Jenkins and Regina Tierney; six great
grandchildren Angela, Laura, Sarah and Adam Jenkins and Bridget and
Ryan Tierney; and other relatives.
Visitation was held Thursday, January 5, 2006 at Britton
Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral Mass was conducted at 10 a.m.
Friday, January 6, 2006 at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father
James Finder officiating. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, St.
Louis, Missouri.
Delight B. Kehr
Delight B. Kehr, nee Brand, was born November 9, 1913,
at Steelville, Missouri, the daughter of Levi D. and Mary Margaret
(Maggie) Brand (nee Gorman). She departed this life on Saturday,
December 31, 2005, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis,
Missouri.
In 1932 she married Roy Clay and to this union one son
was born, James Roy Clay. On January 15, 1939, she married Ralph E.
Kehr, son of the late Frank W. and Rosa Kehr, and to this union two
children were born, Rosemary Elaine Kehr and William Ralph Kehr.
Delight and Ralph enjoyed 52 years together before
Ralph's death on May 27, 1991.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers
and their wives, Lee Roy (Cecil) Brand, Floy M. (Ozella) Brand and
George W. (Marilee) Brand; five sisters and their husbands, Amy
(Earl) Nichols, Hazel (Manson) Munro, Helen (Richard) Winters,
Virginia (Albert) Haslouer, and Thelma (Albert) Breece; and one
brother-in-law, Walter Whittington.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her three
devoted children, James R. Clay, Rosemary E. Kehr and William R.
Kehr; grandchildren, Alan and Carita Clay of Mesquite, Texas;
Bradley and Alice Clay of Veyo, Utah; Delight and Glenn Everett of
Cuba, Missouri; Michael and Karla Clay of Denver, Colorado; and
Nathan Clay of Cuba, Missouri.
Two great grandchildren, Christina Clay of Mesquite, TX
and Ian Clay of Denver, Colorado; one sister, Perline Whittington,
of Phoenix, Arizona; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Delight was a long-time member of the Steelville
Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder; taught Sunday
School, belonged to the Philathean Circle, and remained active as
long as her health permitted.
She was a 50-year member of Martha and Mary Chapter,
Order of the Eastern Star, where she served in many offices
including Worthy Matron. She was active in Federated Club work,
especially the Pathfinder Club and later the Quest Club.
Delight and Ralph published The Crawford Mirror
newspaper for 45 years. In the last years she served as Advertising
Manager and got to know and make friends with the many people who
were her advertising customers. In the 1960's, the Kehrs and Lowell
McFarland, then of Potosi, Missouri, also established the
Quad-County Star at Viburnum, Missouri, which is now owned and
published by Mr. and Mrs. Gary Dickens.
After their retirement in 1979, Delight and Ralph were
able to travel some and enjoy their home and family. In the years
when she was alone, she spent time helping Rosemary in her store
business. She was a dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother and
loyal friend who will be sadly missed.
Visitation was Wednesday, January 4, 2006, from 4-8 p.m.
at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 11 a.m.
at the Steelville Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mary Arnold
officiating. Congregational music was "In the Garden" and "Amazing
Grace" accompanied by Mrs. Deloris Bell.
Burial was at Steelville Cemetery with pallbearers
Nathan Clay, Glenn Everett, David Leslie, Kerry Brand, Kem
Schwieder, and Paul Harmon.

Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Jeanette "Janie" Loretta Keogh
Jeanette "Janie" Loretta Keogh of Cuba, Missouri, was
born July 15, 1905 in Florissant, Missouri to the union of John
Baptiste Overy and Mary Virginia (nee Guitar) Overy and left from
this life on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Sullivan, Missouri at the
age of 100 years, 5 months and 18 days.
Janie was the owner and operator of Janie's Restaurant
for 14 years in Cuba. Prior to owning the restaurant, Janie worked
in a factory and as a waitress. She enjoyed reading, quilting,
crocheting, gardening, being with her family and friends and always
feeding stray pets.
Janie was united in marriage to Harold Keogh on December
29, 1922 at E. St. Louis, Illinois and to this union seven children
were born, Richards, Colleen, Frank, Lee, Mike, Martha and Sonny.
Janie is preceded in death by her parents; husband
Harold; two sons Richard and Frank Keogh; brothers; sisters; and a
host of other relatives.
Janie was a loving mother, grandmother, great
grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Those who survive to mourn her passing are her three
sons, Lee Keogh and wife Shirley of Sullivan, Missouri, Ronald Keogh
and wife Geneva of Leasburg, Missouri, Sonny Keogh and wife Debbie
of Cuba, Missouri; two daughters, Colleen Ray of Leasburg, Missouri
and Martha Hardecke of Sullivan, Missouri.
Friend and companion Raymond Pasch; 28 grandchildren; 62
great grandchildren; 31 great great grandchildren; and other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Friday, January 6 from 5-8 p.m. at
Britton Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri. Funeral services were held
Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 10 a.m. at the Britton Funeral Home
with Rev. James Finder officiating.
Burial followed at Crossroads Cemetery, Leasburg,
Missouri. Pallbearers were Richard Keogh, Chris Ray, Josh Skaggs,
Nick Miller, Stephen Keogh and Matthew Keogh.
Charles Richardson
Charles Richardson was born on February 25, 1927 in
Safe, Missouri, to Thomas Jackson Richardson and Anna (Dahl)
Richardson, and passed away on January 3, 2006, in Rolla, Missouri.
Charles is preceded in death by his parents; his wife
Wanda Richardson; and brothers Delmar and Raymond Richardson.
Charles loved gardening and doing yard work. He met a
lot of his friends running his filling station "Charlie's Auto
Service." He also loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by one daughter, Mary Moreland of St.
James, Missouri; three sons, Roy Richardson and wife Pansy of Vichy,
Missouri, Troy Richardson and wife Helen of Rolla, Missouri and Bob
Richardson and wife Rhonda of Cuba, Missouri; one sister, Nora
Grotha of St. James, Missouri; one brother, Mack Richardson and wife
Betty of St. James, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 26 great
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends was held Thursday,
January 5, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. at James and Gahr Mortuary in St.
James, Missouri. Services were Friday, January 6, 2006 at 10 a.m. at
the James and Gahr Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Brother Ron
Thomas officiating. Interment at Meramec Memorial Lawn in Cuba,
Missouri with military honors.
Arrangements were under the direction of James and Gahr
Mortuary of St. James, Missouri.
