James Edward Brasure
James Edward Brasure was born February 26, 1925, in Obion County, Tennessee
to Cebern A. Brasure and Evia M. (French) Brasure and passed away Monday,
January 5, 2009 at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 10 days.
In 1944 he was called to duty by the U.S. Navy Sea Bees and fought the
Japanese in the Pacific theatre. In 1946 he returned home to Tennessee and
married Kansada Dean-Jones. To this union three children were born.
On February 16, 1993, he married Shirley Scantlin-Maxwell of St. James,
Missouri and with this union came four step children.
He was employed by M.F.A. in St. Louis, Missouri. By 1965 he was working as
a foreman for Edwin Ryder in St. Louis and in 1969 moved to Dent County.
After his retirement he moved to St. James and drove a school bus for the
St. James School District.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; his parents; five brothers, Joe,
Jimmy, Raymond, Ernest, and Willard Brasure and one sister Ruby Brasure-
Marrow.
He is survived by his wife of St. James, Missouri; three children, James
Roy Brasure of Aurora, Colorado, Joan Brasure-Mogab and Bonnie Gwen Brasure-
Mauzy both of Tiptonville, Tennessee; four step children, Travis Gerald
Maxwell and Shawn Lucas Maxwell, both of Jacksonville, Florida, Stephanie
Ann Gann and Amy Sue Maxwell, both of St. James, Missouri; 10 grandchildren,
Michelle Brasure-Kurtz of Littleton, Colorado, Roy Mogab of Sullivan,
Missouri, Danelle Mogab-Preston of St. James, Missouri, Denese Mogab-
Chamberlain of Union City, Tennessee, Shawn Mauzy-Nolan of Atoka, Tennessee,
Denise Lynn Mauzy of Columbia, Missouri, Meadow Maxwell, Jamie Lynn Gann,
Lucas Maxwell, and Madelynn Mason, all from St. James, Missouri; 12 great
grand-children; siblings, Grace Mann and Fon Brasure Jr. of Fulton,
Tennessee; Lucille Skaggs of Potosi, Missouri, Beulah Jackson of Springfield,
Missouri, and Lorene Morriss of Peoria Illinois.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2009, at the Jones Funeral
Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2009, at Jones Funeral
Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Burial will be in the family plot with full Military Honors in the Carty
Cemetery in rural Salem, Missouri.
All arrangements under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James,
Missouri.
Pamela R. Clark
Pamela R. Clark of Sullivan, Missouri was born at Holyoke, Massachusetts on
April 10, 1970 and passed away at her home on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the
age of 38 years.
In 1977, she moved with her family to the Leasburg area and graduated
Bourbon High School in 1988.
She was a devoted mother and deeply cared for her children. Pam was fond of
animals and enjoyed gardening and collecting recipes. She was a member of
Temple Baptist Church of Sullivan.
She was preceded in death by her step-father, Henry Wells.
She is survived by two daughters, Samantha Clark and Savannah Clark-Gray both
of the family home; her mother, Judy Wells of Bourbon, Missouri; one sister,
Marcella Roberts and her husband Rollin of Brookhaven, Mississippi; a special
friend, Laura Lockhart of Leasburg, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 3:30 p.m. until time of service at 5 p.m. at Temple
Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 5 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2009 from
Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Scott Perry
officiating. Cremation followed the services.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan,
Missouri.
Doyle E. Colgate
Doyle E. Colgate was born in Petersburg, Indiana on June 23, 1936 to Joseph
and Dessie Marie (Charles) Colgate and passed a, J 2, 2009 at the age of 72
years.
He honorably served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Air Force.
On May 9, 1959 he was united in marriage to Janice Arnelda Aldridge at
La Puente, California and to this union three children were born.
In 1986 he and Janice moved to Sullivan, Missouri. He was employed several
years at Jefferson-Smurfit in Pacific, Missouri as an assembly man and later
was employed at Esselte-Pendaflex Manufacturing at Union, Missouri.
Doyle spent quality time with his children and grandchildren and was a very
social individual who had a sense of humor, was good natured and never met
a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Earl D. Colgate.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Chad Colgate and wife Chrissy of F.E.
Warren Air Force Base, Cheyenne, Wyoming; two daughters, Cynthia Wilson and
husband Raymond of Hemet, California and Candice May Schebaum and husband
Dean of Sullivan, Missouri; one brother, Joseph Colgate of Marino Valley,
California; eight grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2009
from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with the
Reverend Steve Williams officiating.
Interment with military honors was in the National Cemetery, Jefferson
Barracks, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan,
Missouri.
Cletus Carson Fink
Cletus Carson Fink of Rolla, Missouri was born October 14, 1925, in Elk
Prairie, Missouri to Carl Fink and Irene (Carson) Fink and passed away
Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at the age of 83.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Clyde Fink.
He is survived by one brother, Merle Fink of Belton, Missouri; one sister,
Elaine Rutz and husband, Warren of Granbury, Texas and six nieces and one
nephew.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2009, at the Null and
Son Funeral Home of Rolla, Missouri with Rev. R. Lee Jennings officiating.
Interment in the Elk Prairie Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Null and Son Funeral Home
of Rolla, Missouri.
Helen Louise Hill
Helen Louise Hill of Bourbon, Missouri was born in Webster Groves, Missouri
on September 26, 1914 to the late Harry B. and Jennie (Baker) Comfort and
passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the age of 94 years.
As a teenager, she worked in her father’s store. Later she owned her own
beauty shop in Webster Groves and during World War II worked with the U.S.
Army Records Department.
On February 14, 1942 she was united in marriage to Robert Julius Hill who
preceded her in death in 1996.
After the war, she and her husband lived in St. Louis County until 1973
when they moved to Bourbon, Missouri.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bourbon, Missouri,
American Legion Auxiliary and Webster Groves Nature Society.
She was very talented and did numerous kinds of needlework. She crocheted
hundreds of baby layettes for newborns for the poor in countries overseas.
Helen loved playing bridge, traveling, nature and animals. She and her
husband visited all 50 states, Europe and North and South America.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, James Frank
Comfort.
She is survived by a sister, Emma Jane Dunn of Bourbon, Missouri; other
relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2009
from the First United Methodist Church in Bourbon with the Reverend Leo
Shumaker officiating.
Interment in the Hill Cemetery.

Jean Ann Catherine Hinds
Jean Ann Catherine Hinds of Sullivan, Missouri was born on August 4, 1936
at Mt. Vernon, Ohio to Fred and Pauline (Conway) Williamson and passed away
on Friday, January 2, 2009 at the age 72 years.
She was raised in her youth by her grandparents and later resided in the
state of California where she was self-employed as a tax accountant.
From 1960 to 1965 she was married to Bascom Johnson who preceded her in death.
In 1975 she was united in marriage to Edward Hinds in San Diego, California.
They resided in Sullivan in the off season of the tax business to be closer
to their children.
Jean Ann was known as a strong willed individual who was independent and had
a big heart. She loved her children and grandchildren and found enjoyment in
cooking, reading and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; two children, Daniel
Yuson and Shilynne Johnson and a sister, Carolyn Simpson.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; one son, Brett Johnson of California;
five daughters, Michelle Johnson and husband Phillip Sindeff of Vichy,
Missouri, Brettina Johnson of California, Lisa Johnson of Owensville,
Missouri, Autumn Soliz and husband Daniel of Sullivan, Missouri and Jeanann
England and husband Steve of St. Clair, Missouri; one brother, Thomas
Williamson and wife Barbara of Sullivan, Missouri; 16 grandchildren; five
great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jerry Simpson; a special uncle who was
like a big brother, Conard Conway and wife Rita of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; other
relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 2009 from
the chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Rev. Father
Dennis Zacheis officiating.
Interment in the Midlawn Memorial Gardens, Union, Missouri.
Tracy Margaret Redding
Tracy Margaret Redding of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday May 30, 1979
at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Charles and Mary Redding and passed
away Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 29 years,
7 months and 9 days.
Tracy enjoyed spending time on her computer, listening to music, writing
poetry and she loved to draw. She had a great love for life, her family,
especially her nephew and nieces and she enjoyed spending time with her
family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Charles Redding, Frank and
Margaret Zeiss; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her parents of Cuba, Missouri; brother, Greg Redding of
Cuba, Missouri; “like a brother,” Joe Cunningham; grandmother, Edna Redding
of St. Louis, Missouri; nephew, David Redding; three nieces, Dyanna, Fayth
and Hope Redding; God parents; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, January 11, 2009 from 2-9 p.m. at Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Service was at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 12, 2009 at Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Paul Lathum officiating. Special
music for the service “Live Like You Were Dying,” “When I Get to Where I’m
Going” and “Butterfly Kisses.”
Honored to be serving as pallbearers are Greg, Mark, Rocky, Ron, Jeff,
Steve, Matt and Joe.
Interment in Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Kenneth R. Reiner
Kenneth “Sonny” R. Reiner of Leasburg, Missouri was born to the union of
Michael E. and Ivy L. (Moyer) Reiner on Wednesday, May 18, 1927 in St. Clair,
Missouri and passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 in Cuba, Missouri at the
age of 81 years, 7 months and 21 days.
Ken attended Lick Creek School and later graduated from Cuba High School in
1943.
He started working at Crawford Electric until 1948 and at this time a family
band was formed with his parents and brothers. He also played baseball for
the Sullivan Merchants in the Mozark Semi-Pro League.
He worked with Rice/Stix Dry Good in St. Louis, Missouri and then in Seattle,
Washington and then to San Mateo, California. He then took a position with
Levi Strauss & Co where he retired from the company. He build a home on his
parents property and moved to Missouri.
Ken was united in marriage to Leola I. “Lee” Waye on July 30, 1955 in
Seattle, Washington and to this union four children were born.
He was a parishioner at Holy Cross Catholic Church and was an avid golfer,
St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Bill Reiner; one sister,
Alene Reiner; one great grandson, Ryan Blackwell; other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife of Leasburg, Missouri; two daughters, Robyn Reiner
of Ozark, Missouri, Roslind (Scott Peters) Reiner of Cuba, Missouri; two sons,
Jack and wife Carrie Reiner, Bill Reiner, both of Cuba, Missouri; one brother,
Jack Reiner of Scobey, Montana; three grandchildren, Becky and husband Chris
Blackwell of Cuba, Missouri, Brydget and husband Rob Snook of Marshfield,
Missouri and LeeAnne Pendleton of St. Louis, Missouri; three great
grandchildren, Lorran and Noah Blackwell and Lucy Snook; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was held Friday, January 9, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Mass was Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 10 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic
Church with Father James Finder as the Celebrant.
Honored to be serving as pallbearers were Scott Peters, Chris Blackwell, Robert
Snook, Paul Aazar, Don Avery and Mike Hutson.
Interment in Lea Cemetery, Leasburg, Missouri.

Sgt. Mark D. Reynolds
Sgt. Mark D. Reynolds was born October 17, 1968, in St. Louis, Missouri, and
passed away January 4, 2009, in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 40.
Mark was united in marriage to April (Griffith) Reynolds on April 27, 1996,
and to this union two children were born.
He graduated from Lafayette High in Ballwin, Missouri in 1986, Southeast
Missouri State University in 1991, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol
Academy in June 1992 as a member of the 64th Recruit Class.
Mark served as a member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol for 17 years,
attaining the rank of Zone Sergeant.
He enjoyed taking his 1995 Impala SS to car shows, winning first place on
several occasions. He also enjoyed playing sports, fishing, and water sports
activities. Above all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, April Reynolds of Rolla, Missouri; twin children,
Landon David Reynolds and Lauren Olivia Reynolds; parents, David and Ruthann
Reynolds of Rolla, Missouri; sister Traci Reynolds of Rome, New York;
grandmother, Ada Reynolds of Kimberling City, Missouri; and mother and
father-in-law, Ed and Jeanie Griffith of Union, Missouri; other relatives
and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother; and two grandfathers.
Funeral services for Sgt. Mark D. Reynolds were held at 11 a.m. on Friday,
January 9, 2009, at First Assembly of God Church in St. James, Missouri
with Rev. Mick Thrasher officiating.
Visitation for family and friends was held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday,
January 8, 2009, at James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla, Missouri.
Interment will be at the Rolla City Cemetery.
All arrangements are under the direction of James & Gahr Mortuary of Rolla,
Missouri.
Theresa B. Sabatino
Theresa B. Sabatino of Bourbon, Missouri was born on June 2, 1928 at
St. Louis, Missouri to Emmanuele and Filippa (Spano) Finazzo and passed away
Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at the age of 80 years.
On June 22, 1947 she was married to Lawrence M. Sabatino in St. Louis,
Missouri and to this union four children were born.
In 1967 the family moved to the Bourbon, Missouri area where Theresa was
employed for a time in the school cafeteria and later became a bus driver for
the bourbon School District. She retired from there in the early 1990’s after
22 years of service to the district. She then volunteered her time in the
kindergarten classes at Bourbon, Missouri. This volunteer program was
designed and started around her involvement with the children.
She was a member of Saint Francis Parish of Bourbon and enjoyed her farm,
especially her John Deere and cows. She was also an avid St. Louis Cardinal
baseball fan.
She is survived by one son, Marion Michael Sabatino and wife Deborah of
Bourbon, Missouri; two daughters, Ann Marie Claypool and husband Bill of
Ashland, Missouri and Phyllis Arnett and husband Don of Bourbon, Missouri;
eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2009 from
the Bourbon Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim Delacourt
officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bourbon, Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home.
Kenneth William Smith
Kenneth William Smith of St. James, Missouri was born in Richland, Missouri
on Sunday, March 23, 1924 to William Gustus Smith and Dorothy Durkop Smith.
He passed away at his home on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at the age of 84 years,
9 months and 12 days.
Kenneth married Roselean Callahan on May 10, 1947 and to this union three
children were born.
Kenneth accepted the Lord many years ago and was a member of the Moline
Baptist Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
He worked as a meat cutter for over 30 years before retiring. He was a member
of the meat cutters local #88; a member of Lamb Skin Masonic Lodge #460 where
he received his 50-year pin in October of 2005. He loved sports and played
fast pitch softball for many years, later coaching his children’s softball
league. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and won several trophies. Most of all
he enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, Kevin and Matt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Arleen Smith;
brother, Paul Smith; and sister, Marjorie Smith.
He is survived by his children, Gary Smith of Union, Missouri, Myrna and
Terry Geiler of St. James, Missouri; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law,
Kenny and Rose Callahan of Eureka, Missouri and Omalee Smith of Davisville,
Missouri, grandsons, Kevin McDonough of Kansas City, Missouri and Matt
McDonough of Rolla, Missouri; step grandchildren Josh Geiler of Bonne Terre,
Missouri and Resa and Tyler Cureton of Fredericktown, Missouri; step great
grandchildren, Carlee and Evan Cureton of Fredericktown, Missouri; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, January 6, 2009 from 5-9 p.m. with Masonic service
at 7 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Delmar B.
Hutson officiating.
Burial in the Cherryville Baptist Cemetery Cherryville, Missouri with full
military honors.
All arrangements under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville,
Missouri.
