Chipman of Steelville, Missouri was born September 19, 1929 in Zion, Arkansas to James P. and Gusta Ramsey Chipman and passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 15 days. On January 27, 1951 in Leachville, Arkansas Charlie and Mary Lou Hanners were united in marriage and to this union four sons were born. In April of 1951, Charlie was inducted into the U.S. Army until 1953. The ChipmansÕ moved to Steelville, Missouri in 1959 and bought the Auto Supply Store with Jerry Cape. They renamed the store C&C Auto Parts. Eventually, Charlie became the sole owner of the auto store. Charlie retired in 1988, but continued to farm, fish, hunt, do woodwork, travel and be involved in his church. Charlie was involved in the community as a member of the First Baptist Church serving many years as a Deacon and other committees, the Crawford County CattlemenÕs Association, the IDA Board, the Crawford County Extension, VFW, being appointed a County Commissioner for District #1 and as an Alderman for the City of Steelville. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gusta Chipman; his wife, Mary Lou Chipman; one grandchild; two sisters, Wanda Majors and Betty Thompson and husband James; and brother-in-law, Dean Hanners. He is survived by his four sons, Mike Chipman and wife Barbara of Pensacola, Florida, Terry Chipman of Wesco, Missouri, Randy Chipman and wife Judy of Tucson, Arizona and Patrick Chipman and wife Yaxi of San Antonio, Texas; one sister-in-law, Mattie Hanners of Owensville, Missouri; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; other relatives and friends. Margie DeSpain-Chilton Margie DeSpain-Chilton of Houston, Texas (formerly of Fredericktown, Missouri) was born on May 17, 1935 in Marquand, Missouri to Arthur Sidney ÒRichardÓ and Zella Ann (Pope) Lawrence and passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at the age of 79 years. In July 1954 in Hernando, Mississippi she married John Paten DeSpain. He preceded her in death. In April 1956 she married Harold Eugene Chilton in Alton, Illinois. Margie was a hairdresser for many years. She lived in Viburnum, Missouri and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Viburnum, Missouri for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Zella Lawrence; her husbands, John DeSpain and Eugene Chilton; son, Thomas Eugene Chilton; brothers, Gerald and Billy Joe Lawrence; and grandson, Dean Parks. Laney was born March 25, 1923, in Walnut, Iowa to Ivan and Bernice (Kemp) Christiansen and passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the age of 91 years. NadineÕs first job was at the Busy Bee Laundry in Rolla, Missouri and later she was employed at the Rawlings factory in Newburg, Missouri. Nadine was a devoted wife and homemaker. She was a woman of faith and loved to read her Bible. Until she was unable, she was member and attended Southside Church of Christ, Rolla. Nadine was an amazing cook and will be remembered mostly for her blackberry cobbler. She spent countless hours gardening and loved her flower gardens most of all. Nadine loved to do needlework and embroidery, listen to gospel and country music. Nadine was united in marriage to Melvin W. Laney on June 10, 1944 and they shared 64 wonderful years together before his passing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Bernice Christiansen; her husband, Melvin in 2008; and her brother, Kenneth Christiansen. Georgia Elizabeth Leibensperger Georgia Elizabeth Leibensperger of St. Clair, Missouri, formerly of Lonedell, Missouri, was born in Leasburg, Missouri, on November 19, 1920 to Arthur Pinkney and Merle Sarah Copling (nee Mize) and passed away January 2, 2015 at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 14 days. As a young woman, she was united in marriage and blessed to have one son. On April 19, 1947, she was united in marriage to Francis Leslie Leibensperger, known to most as Frank, and two daughters came to bless this union. Georgia was a Christian and member of the First Assembly of God Church in St. Clair, Missouri. She had made caring for others her career in life and received her degree as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She worked at several hospitals as a young woman prior to working at Sullivan Hospital, now known as Missouri Baptist Hospital, in Sullivan, Missouri. She was employed when the hospital opened and stayed with them for 37 years. After retiring Georgia decided to open a restaurant and so founded GeorgiaÕs Restaurant in Lonedell, Missouri, now known as the Finish Line. She found time to volunteer each week to work at the Agape Thrift Store in St. Clair, Missouri. She enjoyed embroidery and quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Merle Copling; her husband, Frank Leibensperger; her daughter, Ruth Vorhees; one brother, Herbert Copling; and three sisters, Helen Reiner, Hester Land and Geneva Richardson. Sr. and Marie Jane (Lancaster) Mabe and passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015 at the age of 66 years, 3 months and 14 days. Richard served his country honorably in the Vietnam War and earned a Bronze Star while in active duty. He was employed by the St. Joe Lead Mines for 16 years and later worked for the Crawford County Road District #1 as a road grader operator for 23 years until retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and the outdoors. He loved spending special times with his daughter, Susan and grandson, Dylan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Marie Mabe; brother, Danny Mabe; sister, Julie Young; uncle, Jim Lancaster and wife Mary Ann. Agnes Romine Agnes Romine of St. James, Missouri was born September 27, 1913 in Waldheim, Germany to Herman and Elisabeth (Holtwisch) Bromeier and passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 at the age of 101 years. At the age of 13 Agnes moved to St. Louis, Missouri with her family and settled into to a German community, it was there that she met the love of her life Julius B. Romine Jr. Agnes did not speak a word of English and Julius didnÕt speak a word in German so somehow he got the message to her that she needed to learn English, because he sure couldnÕt learn German. Agnes was united in marriage to Julius on December 7, 1935 and to this union a son was born. Agnes enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, and playing Bingo. She and Julius loved to travel and bought an Airstream travel trailer, joined the Airstream Club and set off to see the country. She was also a member in two Bingo Clubs, and a past president of the Mothers Club when her son was in school. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Elisabeth Bromeier; her husband, Julius Romine in 2000; brothers, Herman and Walter Bromeier; and sister, Ida Peirich. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Kathleen Romine of St. Louis, Missouri; grandson, Jason C. Romine of Seattle, Washington; other relatives and friends. Michael Jonathan Sletten Michael Jonathan Sletten of Davisville, Missouri was born on Saturday, March 9, 1968 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Richard Allen and Jacquelyne ÒJackieÓ Marie (Telford) Sletten and passed away on Sunday, December 21, 2014 at the age of 46 years, 9 months and 12 days. Michael was confirmed at a young age in a Lutheran Church in DeKalb, Illinois. As a young boy, he was active in Cub Scouts, and later was interested in computers and making videos. After graduating from high school, he became employed as a legal ad clerk for ÒThe Daily PilotÓ in Costa Mesa, California, until he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Then subsequently pursued his computer interest further. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
