MO Local Obituaries for the Week of Jan. 15, 2003 Shannon Ray Baker Shannon Ray Baker was born on Tuesday, September 11, 1973 in Blythe, California to Wesley Ray Baker and Rose Lee Turner Baker, and passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2003 in rural Franklin County, Missouri at the age of 29 years, 3 months and 27 days. Shannon moved with his family from California to Oklahoma then to Missouri. He finished school in Sullivan, Mo. where he graduated from Sullivan High School in 1992. Shannon played football in high school. Growing up in a close family, he really enjoyed family bar-b-ques, and playing baseball. Shannon also liked spending time with his grandparents. As he grew up he became a Raiders fan, and was known for keeping his car clean and spotless. Before moving to Cuba, he was employed as a meter reader with Union Electric in St. Louis, Mo. On March 4, 2000 Shannon was united in marriage to Carla Isbell in Boone County, Arkansas, and to this union one daughter was born. Shannon was preceded in death by his grandmothers; Adelia Baker and Deliah Turner Lewallen. Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Carla Baker of Festus, Mo.; one son, Shawn Nicholas Baker; two daughters, Megan Nicole Baker and Molly Nicole Baker; and one step-daughter, Lucy Isbell; his parents, Wesley and Rose Baker of Cuba, Mo.; grandparents, Wesley Buford Baker of Chachula, California, and Calvin and Mary Turner of McAlester, Oklahoma; two brothers, Wesley Ray Baker, Jr. and Jason Lee Baker of Cuba, Mo.; one sister, Michelle Lee Baker of Cuba, Mo.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Shelley Willman and husband Kenny of Florissant, Mo., and Christy Hites and husband Don of St. Charles, Mo.; and father-in-law and mother-in-law Frank and Marleen Isbell of Arnold, Mo.; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends all who will sadly miss and fondly remember Shannon Ray Baker. Visitation was held on Thursday, January 9, 2003 from 6-9 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, Mo. Funeral services was held on Friday, January 10, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Chapel in Cuba, Mo. with Rev. Larry Buettner officiating. Burial was in the Kinder Cemetery in Cuba, Mo. with pallbearers Wesley Baker, Jason Baker, Darin Hedges, Doug Nix, Troy Conant, and Jesse Drake. All arrangements were under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, Mo. Memorials are suggested to the family of Shannon Baker to assist with expenses. Raymond Harrison Earney Raymond Harrison Earney was born March 3, 1924 in Wesco, Mo. to the union of Everett Earney and Anna Mae Earney (nee Gunter) and passed away January 5, 2003 at the Simmerlin Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada at the age of 78 years, 10 months and 2 days. Ray, as everyone knew him, was preceded in death by both parents, four brothers, Ray Clifton Earney of Steelville, Mo., Delmar Wilson Earney of Memphis, Tennessee, Maurice Edward Earney of Steelville, Mo.; one baby brother Donnie Lee Earney of Wesco, Mo. One sister, Fern Elizabeth Meiser of Cuba, Mo.; two sisters-in-law Faye Earney of Steelville, Mo. and Memory Earney of Memphis, Tennessee. Father-in-law Theodore (Ted) Hibbard of Orrville, California. Ray served in WW II as an anti aircraft machine gunner in France and Germany. He was honorably discharged in December, 1945 with four bronze stars and a good conduct medal. After the war he moved to San Francisco, California where he married Elberta Patterson. To this union two sons were born, Stephen Earney and David Earney. Ray worked as a printer in San Francisco for a paper company. Later moved to Alameda, California working as a printer there. Later he bought a print shop near Oakland and moved to San Leandio, California. In 1966 he was married to Estrallita Juanita Hibbard in Union City, Nevada. To this union one son, Darin Ransom Earney was born. Ray later sold the print shop and worked part time. He also had a flea market and retail shop for several years. In the late 1990's Ray retired and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a devoted husband and father, always caring for someone and being jolly. He loved to cook, especially grill or BBQ and loved to be in the kitchen. Those who survive to mourn are his loving wife Estrallita of the home, three sons, Darin and wife Rayleen of Las Vegas, NV, Stephen and wife Donna of Castro Valley, CA, David and wife Debbie of Union, City, CA,; two sisters, Pearl Stites and husband Cecil of Steelville, Mo., Bonnie Stephens and special friend Larry Turnbough of Davisville, Mo.; one brother, Lawrence Earney and wife Debra of Springfield, TN, brother and sister-in-laws Louis Hibbard and wife Josie, Dr. Pearl Hibbard and husband Dr. John Laughlin, Earl (Butch) Hibbard and wife Dianne, Faith Kerns and husband Terry, Shawn Hibbard and wife Kate, Forrest Hibbard of Orville, CA. Private memorial services were held for Ray as he was cremated. Ray will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Bobbie Kenneth Green Bobbie Kenneth Green was born Thursday, August 5, 1937, at Davisville, Mo., a son of the late Mabel Fannie (Brown) and John Edward Green. He entered eternal life Thursday, January 9, 2003 at his home on Hobo Road, Davisville, Mo., at the age of 65 years, 5 months and 4 days. In 1960 Kenneth was united in marriage to Doris Lea. Three sons and three daughters were born to this union. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Michael and Kenneth and one daughter, Pamila Green; two brothers, Charles Green and John Green and wife Shirley, and one sister, Linda Louise Green. Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted wife, Doris Green of the home; one son, Bobbie Dale Green and wife Julia of Berryman, Mo.; two daughters, Carol Stricklin and Mary Lynn Carrick of Steelville, Mo. Althea Ruth Killebrew Mrs. Killebrew died Saturday, January 4, 2003 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama. Survivors include two sons, David Killebrew of Weaver, Alabama and Jerry Killebrew of Anniston, Alabama; two sisters, Mildred Booker of Steelville, Missouri and Mable McCarthey of Union, Missouri; one brother and his wife, Haskell and Letha Coleman of Windsor, Colorado. Several nieces and nephews, her extended family, Rev. John Johnson and Rev. Jim Kelley officiating. Burial was in Anniston Memorial Gardens in Anniston, Alabama. Emma Elizabeth Lawson Emma Elizabeth Lawson nee Rost was born on September 10, 1911 to the union of Jacob and Dena Rost nee Ruegge and departed for her heavenly home on January 4, 2003 at the age of 91 years, 3 months and 24 days. Emma was born and raised in Drake, Mo. and had moved o St. Louis at the age of 17. She married Marvin Lawson on June 28, 1931, and to this union two sons were born, Kenneth Gene and Nolan Earl. Emma was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in St. Louis until her and Marvin retired and moved to Cuba in 1972. She attended the Cuba Church of Christ until her health failed her. Emma's hobbies included fishing, gardening, cooking for her family, creating all sorts of crafts and spending time with her many friends. Emma has been living at the Stubblefield Residential Care for almost two years where she continued making friends. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Dena Rost, her husband Marvin Lawson, three sisters, Florence Ebker, Helen Bournemann and Esther Sewing, one brother, Lewis Ebker and one great-granddaughter, Felisha Woollard. She is survived by her two loving sons and daughters-in-law Ken and Nova Lawson of Cuba, Mo. and Nolan and Marilyn Lawson of Taneyville, Mo.; and a special sister-in-law Dorothy Ebker of Florissant, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Kenny Lawson of Gamaliel, Arkansas, Sherry Turnbough of Ozark, Mo., Janice Eder of Leasburg, Mo., Allan Lawson of Taneyville, Mo., Rhonda Kent of Sullivan, Mo., Pam Beeler of Taneyville, Mo. and Curtis Lawson of Stafford, Mo.; eleven great grandchildren, Aaron, Justin, and Ryan Turnbough of Ozark, Mo., Gabe Lawson of Gamaliel, Arkansas, Bradley and Jordan Kent of Sullivan, Mo., Cody, Kelton, Keylan and Kenzie Beeler of Taneyville, Mo. and Avery Lawson of Taneyville, Mo.; four great great grandchildren, Trey, Autumn, Shi-Ann, and Bryce Turnbough; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and many, many friends. Gabrielle Marie Seiler Gabrielle Marie Seiler died Thursday, January 2, 2003 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born January 2, 2003 at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Brent D. and Jennifer Marie Lowes Seiler. Survivors include her parents of Jackson, Missouri; maternal grandparents, Michael G. and Kathy S. Besand Lowes of Cuba, Missouri. Paternal grandparents, Glenn R. and Jackie L. Crader Seiler of Leopold, Missouri and maternal great grandparents, Doris M. Besand of Perryville, Missouri and Arline B. Lowes of Jackson, Missouri. Her maternal and paternal great grandfathers and her paternal great grandmothers preceded her in death. The funeral was held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2003 at St. John's Catholic Church in Leopold with the Rev. Ralph Duffner and Rev. Bill Huggins officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Julia Ann Young Julia Young nee Mabe, Alba, Texas was born October 29, 1960 at Steelville, Missouri, to the union of Richard and Marie Lancaster Mabe of Steelville and entered eternal rest Wednesday, January 1, 2003 at the age of 42 years, 2 months and 3 days at EMTC Tyler, Tyler, Texas. She was proceded in death by her father, and one brother Danny Mabe. Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her husband, Troy of Alba, Texas; daughter Jennifer and husband Ben Gardner of Grand Saline, Texas; sons David Duncan Jr., of Mineola, Texas, Steven Duncan of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Robert Riley of Dallas, Texas.
