Thelma E. Baldwin
Thelma E. Baldwin of Bourbon, Missouri, was born on March 3, 1915 in Bourbon,
Missouri to Henry and Edith (Williamson) Essman and passed away on Sunday,
January 9, 2011 at the age of 95 years.
She was a life long resident of the bourbon area.
On January 1, 1949 she was married to Earl Baldwin.
Thelma held a variety of jobs throughout her life that included several
civil service positions as a secretary and bookkeeper, book and record keeper
for Dr. Riffel and the Bank of Bourbon. However, first and foremost, she was
a homemaker. Thelma was an avid gardener and excelled in growing roses. She
was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Bourbon. She was
also a long time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion
Post 81 of Bourbon and Order of Eastern Star Chapter 105 of Sullivan,
Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Edith Essman; her
husband, Earl and a sister, Evelyn Souders.
She is survived by a daughter, Linda Mroz and husband Ed of Washington,
Missouri; one grandson, Jeremy Stephens; a great granddaughter, Brianna
Stephens; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the First United
Methodist Church of Bourbon, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2011
from the First United Methodist Church of Bourbon with the Reverend Judy
Jeffery officiating.
Interment was in Bourbon Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home
of Sullivan, Missouri.
Paul L. Bell
Paul L. Bell, 84, of Steelville, Missouri, was born September 6, 1926 in
St. Louis, Missouri to J. Leonard Bell and Eva (Deischer) Bell and passed
away Thursday, January 6, 2011 at his home at the age of 84 years.
On June 6, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri he was united in marriage to Deloris
Hubbard Bell.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W.II and served in the U.S.
Air Force National Guard during the Korean War. Paul attended Arkansas
College and Washington University where he graduated with a law degree.
In 1955, Paul moved to Steelville and worked for another attorney. A few
years later he went to work for himself and in 1960 bought the present law
building. He worked as the juvenile officer, prosecuting attorney and
magistrate probate judge for Crawford County. For over 55 years, he worked
as an attorney. Paul was instrumental in helping bring other businesses to
Steelville and in earlier years was a very active member of the Chamber of
Commerce. He had been a member of the VFW, Lions Club, a member of the
Steelville Presbyterian Church and very active in the Republican Party.
He started out as a stockholder in the Erma’s Fire Arms Company, which later
became Steelville Manufacturing and is owned by him and his three sons.
When not working, he enjoyed being at his farm feeding his cattle.
He is survived by his wife, Deloris Bell of Steelville, Missouri; six
children, Jean Thomasma and husband Lanin, Dennis Bell and wife Elaine,
John Bell and wife Melanie, Bob Bell and wife Kathy, Susan Bell and husband
Skip Hajek, all of Steelville, Missouri and Lucy Bell and husband Loren
Whetsell of Alton, Missouri; five sisters, Evelyn Wand of Texas, Vivian
Clemons and husband Jerry of St. Paul, Minnesota, Sylvia Tay and husband
Rick, Alice Cranston and Ann Saad, all of Kansas City, Missouri; two
brothers-in-law, Richard Hubbard and wife Sharon of Maryland and Michael
Hubbard and wife Sharon of Texas; aunt Opal Henry of Salem, Missouri;
17 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 2-8 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2011 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Loren Whetsell and Rev. Ron Durbin
officiating. Special music was played by Sylvia Tay.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Asher Cemetery at St. James,
Missouri.
Casket bearers were Dennis Bell, John Bell, Bob Bell, Lanin Thomasma,
Loren Whetsell and Skip Hajek.

Cordell “Corky” William Callahan
Cordell “Corky” William Callahan of St. James, Missouri was born
October 3, 1920 in Cherryville, Missouri to Jesse Robert and Ada Jennings
(Earls) Callahan and passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at his home at
the age of 90 years.
On November 15 1941, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Gray and two
children were born to this union. Dorothy preceded him in death on
Sept. 28, 1990. He later married Edith Hughes Moser and she preceded him in
death in 2005.
After leaving Crawford County, “Corky” served his country in the U.S. Army/
Air Corp from 1943-1945. After the service, he moved to St. Louis and worked
for Swift Packing Co. After 35 years, he retired in 1982.
He was a member of the St. James VFW.
Over the years, he always enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing shuffleboard
at the Steelville Country Club, Johnny’s and the VFW in St. James. He also
enjoyed traveling with his two daughters throughout the United States.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Ada Callahan; two wives,
Dorothy and Edith; one great granddaughter, Jessica Yarnell; four brothers,
Thurman Callahan, JL and wife Lee Callahan, Russell Callahan and Bobby
Callahan; and one sister, Hilda Callahan.
He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Ann Disandro and companion Kenneth
Schuch of Belle, Missouri and Paula Jane Bryant of Arnold, Missouri; six
grandchildren, Michelle Mooney and husband Scott, Kimberly Larson, Stephanie
Stucki and companion Brandon Adams, all of Arnold, Missouri, Kenneth Walling
and wife Nancy of St. Genevieve, Missouri, Larry Walling and wife Siaem of
Seattle, Washington and Mark Walling and wife Ashley of Cuba, Missouri; 21
great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Bob Coleman
officiating. Special music of “Old Rugged Cross,” “Amazing Grace” and a
medley of hymns was sung by Bob and Carol Coleman accompanied by Shirley
Brown as pianist.
Committal prayer and interment were on Friday, January 14, 2011 in the
Freeman Cemetery at Cherryville, Missouri. Full military honors were given
by the U.S. Army, St. James VFW and Patriot Guard.
Casket bearers were Kenneth Walling, Larry Walling, Mark Walling, Steve
Waters, Josh Walling and Matt Walling.

Opal E. Davis
Opal E. Davis of Rolla, Missouri was born on July 29, 1921 to John P. and
Elsie (Tyler) Cook and passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the age
of 89 years.
On August 26, 1939 she married Wilson Davis.
Opal helped her husband serve in the ministry at the Newburg Church of God
from 1949 until her husband’s passing.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie Cook; husband,
Wilson Davis; three brothers, Leslie Harris, Loren Cook and Lawrence “Sonny”
Cook and one sister, Francis Martin.
She is survived by two children, Peggy Eckert and husband Gerald of Rolla,
Missouri and Don Davis and wife Judi of St. James, Missouri; five grand-
children, Marcia Lane, Barbara Hook, Leigh Ann Smith, Rick Davis and Raedona
Davis; eight great grandchildren, Jeremy Lane, Zachary Lane, Caleb Lane, Aaron
Hook, Madison Davis, Jennifer Grace Davis, Elizabeth Hook and Colton Smith;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Null
and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at the Null
and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri with Rev. Dan Pitchers and Brian
Lester officiating.
Interment followed in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Owen Gregory Deppe
Owen Gregory Deppe of Shell Knob, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri
on January 7, 1947 to Harold and Mildred (Owens) Deppe and passed away Monday,
January 10, 2011 at the Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri at the age
of 64 years and three days.
On May 8, 1981 in Branson, Missouri he was united in marriage to Marilyn
Schalk.
He served his country with the U.S. Army for 17 years.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tiffany Marie Deppe.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; his children, Mekale Rooffener and
husband Marvin of Owensville, Missouri, Todd Deppe and wife Melissa of Cuba,
Missouri, Bethany Moore of Owensville, Missouri and Phil Pendergrass and wife
Michelle of Westville, Indiana; brother, Rodney Deppe and wife Christine of
Bay, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; other relatives and
friends.
A Memorial service was Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 3 p.m. at the
Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Rev. Terry Knight
officiating. His body was cremated.

Emmett Homer Dillon
Emmett Homer Dillon of St. James, Missouri, was born April 22, 1917 at
Safe, Missouri in Maries County to Everett and Josie Dillon and passed away
January 13, 2011 at the age of 93 years, at the Missouri Veterans Home in
St. James, Missouri.
Emmett graduated from St. James High School and taught at Star School two
years. He was inducted into the US Army April 6, 1942, getting six weeks
of basic training in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He served in the 7th Army Aircorp
in the Central Pacific. He was discharged October 19, 1945 the end of
World War II.
Emmett married Beda Honse on March 30, 1946 and to this union five children
were born.
He was a great force in getting the new Baptist Church built in St. James,
Missouri. He taught a Boys Town Sunday School class for many years. He was
a member of the St. James Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, past president of the
St. James Chamber of Commerce, past president of St. James Lions Club and
past president of St. James Rural Fire Department. He was “Mr. Trout” of
Meramec Trout Association, and a member of St James School Board. He was a
member of the VFW and American Legion of St. James. He owned and operated
the Dillon Clay Mining until his retirement.
He helped make apple butter for a fundraiser for the old grade school
rehabilitation. Then made apple butter for the garden club. He enjoyed
pheasant hunting, fishing, and had a love of the outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Josie Dillon;
brothers, Floyd, Vernon, Arthur, an infant brother and a three-year old son,
Bruce Emmett Dillon.
He is survived by his wife, Beda of St. James, Missouri; four children,
Stanley Dillon of St. James, Missouri, Debra Bullock and husband Gary of
St. James, Missouri, Carol Flaim and husband Tony of St. James, Missouri
and Janet Nicholson of Fredrick, Maryland; 10 grandchildren, David Dillon,
Fred Bullock, Anne Crousore, Abby Schwalji, Mary Flaim, Lucia Flaim, Silvio
Flaim, Andrew Tisckos, Jessi Tisckos and Jamie Nicholson; six great
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Sunday January 16, 2011 at the Jones Funeral
Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. on Monday January 17, 2011 at the First
Baptist Church in St. James, Missouri with Jerry Bauman, officiating.
Pallbearers were David Dillon, Fred Bullock, Silvio Flaim, Josiah Crousore,
Kevin Schwalji and Andrew Tisckos.
Burial with full military honors was at the family plot at the Dillon
Cemetery near St. James, Missouri.

Paul Hendrix Dixon
Paul Hendrix Dixon of St. James, Missouri was born October 15, 1920 at
Pauls Valleys, Oklahoma, to John Calvin and Cora Mae Williams Dixon and
passed away Monday January 10, 2011 at the Harry S Truman Veteran’s Hospital
in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of 90 years.
He was united in marriage to Mae Rean Watson
Paul served in the service for 27 years. He served in the Navy for six years
and in the Army for 22 years. He was a World War II Veteran. He retired
from the service and worked for the Post Office in Tampa, Florida. He moved
to Salem in 1969 and worked at Amex Mineshute until 1974. Paul then went to
Phoenix, Arizona. He lived there for four years and then returned to
Missouri. He was a member of High Gate Baptist Church. He loved to travel,
fishing with his wife and loved to collect coins. He owned an antique shop
for 10 years in Drake, Missouri. Most of all he enjoyed being with his
family. Paul was very patriotic and loved his country and God. He had a
personality who welcomed friendship and he never met a stranger.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Cora Dixon; wife, Mae Dixon
on March 31, 2002; daughter, Pamela and grandson, John Michael.
He is survived by sons, Pete Vannatta and wife Patti of St. James, Missouri,
Rick Dixon of St. James, Missouri, and Timmothy Dixon and wife Bonnie of
Gerald, Missouri; one daughter, Brenda Joanne Naves and husband Vernie of
Meredosia, Illinois; 15 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday January 13, 2011 at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday January 14, 2011 at
the Jones Funeral Home with Douglas Lane, officiating.
Burial with full military honors was in the High Gate Cemetery.

Helen Dobkins
Helen Dobkins was born March 7, 1916, in Moore County, North Carolina to
Orlando M. and Rachel Ann Mosher Palmer and passed away January 11, 2011 at
the age of 94 years.
She married Marvin Dobkins on Leap Year, February 29, 1936 at Argo, Missouri.
She never tired of telling folks she only had four wedding anniversaries
when she had been married 16 years and had children already.
She worked many years for the Crawford Mirror, Steelville’s newspaper and
retired from there.
She was the happiest when accompanied by Marvin out into the back roads
searching out the best mushrooms, wild berries, herbs for medicines and
cooking and wonderful old bits of wood and stone for the handcrafts they
created.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orlando and Rachel Palmer; husband,
Marvin; daughter, Margaret Eshbaugh; stillborn son, Marvin Jr.; brothers and
sisters, Standish Palmer and wife Elma, Earl Palmer and wives Thelma and Anna,
Leslie Palmer and wife Evelyn, Mavis Bates and husband Roscoe, Fred Palmer and
wives Elmira and Kay, Juanita Dorf and husband Melvin, Lynn Palmer; stillborn
brother, John Palmer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ted and Lula Dobkins, Art
and Leyla Dobkins, Pansy Dobkins, Opal Dobkins and Charles Winfield Dobkins;

She is survived by her children, Patricia FitzGerald and husband Bert of New

Sadie M. Greathouse
Sadie M. Greathouse of Cuba, Missouri was born to Gregorio and Emma
(Pacheco) Garcia on August 27, 1936 in Delta, Colorado and passed away
Friday, January 14, 2011 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center in
St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 74 years.
Sadie was a homemaker and enjoyed babysitting, making crafts and spending
time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gregorio and Emma Garcia and
one brother, Sonny Garcia.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Greathouse of Cuba, Missouri;
three children, Debbie and husband Marty Voss of St. Charles, Missouri,
Ricky Greathouse of Lindenwood, New Jersey and Larry Greathouse and friend
Cheryl of St. Charles, Missouri; one brother, Phil Garcia of Ogden, Utah;
one sister, Fannie Lopez of Provo, Utah; other relatives and friends.

Mae Elizabeth Huskey
Mae Elizabeth “Kizzy” Huskey of Rolla, Missouri was born on September 20, 1919
in Crawford County, Missouri to William and Ava (Roberts) Gravatt and passed
away Thursday, January 13, 2011 at the age of 91 years.
She married William T. Huskey.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ava Gravatt; husband,
William Huskey and sister, Blanche Wycoff.
Elizabeth was proud to have worked for and retired from Phelps County Regional
Medical Center.
She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, quilting and playing cards. Above all, she
enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was a member of the First Church of God in St. James, Missouri.
She is survived by one son, William “Bill” H. Huskey and wife Barbara of
Rolla, Missouri; one brother, Bill Gravatt of Drakesville, Iowa; one sister,
Mary McIntosh and husband Calvin of Salem, Missouri; three grandchildren,
Brad Huskey, Amy Huskey and Brownie Binkely and husband Taylor, all of Rolla,
Missouri; three great grandchildren, Caylee Huskey, Lane Mabe and Carter Mabe;
other relatives and friends.

Billie Jean Kelley was born in Cuba, Missouri July 26, 1926 and passed away
in her home on January 9, 2011.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Catherine Marie Marr and father,
Walter Johnson of Cuba, Missouri, daughter, Toni Lynn Engel of Ash Grove,
Missouri; grandson, Jason Abraham Engel of St. Louis, Missouri; brother,
Robert W. Johnson; step father, George Marr of Cuba, Missouri and nephew,
John (Jack) Julier of Chesterfield, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, who kept her in flowers and
candy, Donald G. Kelley, known to his friends as Dean; daughter, Terry and
husband Don Magness of Springfield, Missouri; son, Robert and wife Anna Engel
of Kitzingen, Germany; step-son, Donald P. Kelley of O’Fallon, Missouri;
step-daughter Carol and husband Dave Perkins of St. Peters, Missouri;
grandchildren, Greg and wife Jean Anne Magness of Superior, Colorado, Josh
and Jake Perkins of St. Peters, Missouri, Alex Kelly of Wheatland, Wyoming,
and Danny Kelly of Columbia, Missouri, Valarie Magness of Portland, Oregon,

Kathryn Louise Libhart
Kathryn Louise Libhart of Eureka, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, was
born Monday, March 15, 1920 at St. Louis, Missouri to August and Clarabel
(nee Creason) Thurmond and passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Price
Memorial Home in Eureka, Missouri at the age of 90 years, 9 months and 27
days.
Kathryn was united in marriage to Marvin DeWayne Libhart on October 10, 1938
at Vienna, Missouri and to this union four children were born.
She spent her life taking care of her family. In her younger years she was
a waitress at the Wagon Wheel, sold Avon and was the President of the Cuba
School Board. She was a member of the Bourbon United Methodist Church. In
her spare time she enjoyed embroidering, crocheting, playing the organ,
reading magazines and going for a drive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, August and Clarabel Thurmond;
husband, Marvin DeWayne Libhart; two brothers, Modie and Kenneth Thurmond;
other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her children, Darlene M. and husband Bill Hensley of
Eureka, Missouri, Pamela L. and husband Bob Clay of St. Charles, Missouri,
Donald M. and wife Jane Libhart of Cuba, Missouri and James “Jim” E. and
wife Sandi Libhart of South Hill, Virginia; sister-in-law, Erma Thurmond of
Cuba, Missouri; 13 grandchildren Darcell (Alen), Diana (Scott), Jeffrey,

Randy Lee Miller
Randy Lee Miller of Sullivan, Missouri, was born on September 24, 1955 in
Sullivan, Missouri to Marvin and Thelma (nee Witt) Miller and passed away,
Sunday, January 9, 2011, at the age of 55 years.
He was a life long resident of the Sullivan-Bourbon area. Randy was a
journeyman sheet metal worker. He was an out going person who enjoyed
spending time with friends and family on his boat or along the banks of the
Meramec and Gasconade Rivers. He was especially proud of his daughter.
He was preceded in death by his father, Marvin Miller.
He is survived by his daughter, Rachelle Roe and husband Kevin of Imperial,
Missouri; Kolten Mulligan of Bourbon, Missouri; his mother, Thelma Miller of
Bourbon, Missouri; brother, Garry Miller of Bourbon, Missouri; two sisters,
Terry Dempsey and husband Tom of Owensville, Missouri and Jeanie Miller of

William Ranalli
William (Pop) Ranalli of St. James, Missouri was born on Friday, May 17, 1929
in Chatsworth, New Jersey to Vincenzio and Pasqalina LePore Ranalli and
passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Golden Living Center,
St. James, Missouri at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 26 days.
He retired from N. Hampton Textile Mill in New Jersey as a textile weaver.
He married Shirley Strain on February 23, 1974 in Pemberton, New Jersey.
His hobbies were hunting, fishing and also deep sea fishing. He was a member
of the St. John’s Lutheran Church, St. James, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincenzio and Pasqalina Ranalli;
brothers, Ben (Nitze) Ranalli, Joseph (Clara) Ranalli and Alfred Ranalli;
sisters, Rose Poinsett, Helen Dunfee and Anna (Doc) Nixon.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Ranalli of St. James, Missouri; sons,
William Ranalli, Jr. of Mt. Holly, New Jersey, Lee Ranalli of New Jersey;
daughter, April Ranalli of NJ; stepdaughters, Conni (Chester) Romine of
St. James, MO, Gale (Lonnie) Tyler of Doolittle, MO and Dianna (Steven) Burke
of Shawnee Mission, KS; sisters, Gloria Leonard and Joyce (Jim) O’Hara all
of Burlington, NJ; sister-in-law Vi Ranalli of Maine; 10 grandchildren and
6 great grandchildren.
No public services were held.

Edna Lucille Summers Rommelman
Edna Lucille Summers Rommelman, of Sullivan, Missouri, was born on
September 6, 1912 to Charles Henry and Leona Blankenship Summers at
Anthonies Mill, Missouri and passed away January 6, 2011, at the age of
98 years, 4 months.
She entered Oak Hill rural school at age six and was a proud graduate from
Sullivan High School in May 1929. She was one of two from the class of 1929
that attended their 80th class reunion in 2009, at the age of 96, proudly
wearing her 1929 graduation pin and her gold and black outfit.
Lucille started teaching school on September 3, 1929. She taught at Oak
Hill rural school in Washington County, starting with 24 students. She was
hired to teach at Flint Hill (Washington County) rural school in September
1930.
Lucille married her childhood sweetheart, Vernon Rommelman, also in the class
of 1929, on April 26, 1933.
Lucille worked at the International Shoe Factory. She was a “stay-at-home mom”
until she started substitute teaching in 1941 when World War II drafted
teachers from the classroom. Lucille taught in Bourbon Public School and
Sullivan school. After 20 years, she started finishing her college degree
in 1951, taking correspondence courses, night classes and summer school
throughout the years graduating with her B.S. in Elementary Education
from Washington University, St. Louis in August 1960.
She was a lifetime member of the Presbyterian Church where she was active in
many capacities. She also loved to garden, travel, play bridge and pinochle
and was an avid crossword puzzle worker.She was preceded in death by her
husband, Vernon on October 8, 1994; brother, Bob Summers and sisters, Inez
Jones, Vela Harrison and Glendora Coffman.
She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Scott and husband Royce (Scottie) of
Chesterfield, Missouri; son, Robert Vernon (Sonny) Rommelman and wife Marilyn
of Benton, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Deborah Nunley and husband David of
Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Monte Rommelman and wife Kim of Paducah, Kentucky, Kevin
Scott and wife Lori of Wildwood, Missouri, Eric Rommelman and wife Rebecca of
Pylesville, Maryland and Lia Thompson and husband Robert of Benton, Kentucky;
11 great grandchildren, Dorian Craft and husband Adam of Sacramento,
California, Lyle, Marcus and Hunter Rommelman, all of Paducah, Kentucky,
Maggie and Jackie Scott of Wildwood, Missouri, Macey, Eliza and Zane
Rommelman of Pylesville, Maryland and Ryder and Rylee Thompson of Benton,
Kentucky; two sisters, Katherine Dollar of Phoenix, Arizona and Hazel
Schnatzmeyer of Lewisville, Texas; one brother, William (Bill) Summers of
Pacific, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were on January 11, 2011 at the First Presbyterian Church
in Sullivan, Missouri with burial following in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan,
Missouri.
Ethel Faye VanBibber
Ethel Faye VanBibber of Rolla, Missouri, was born September 23, 1937 at
Rolla, Missouri to Carl Eugene and Velma Spencer VanBibber and passed
awayJanuary 15, 2011 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center, Rolla,
Missouri, at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 23 days.
Faye was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church. She retired from the
Phelps County Regional Medical Center Dietary Department where she was
honored for employee of the month and her years of dedicated service. She
enjoyed writing to her friends, volunteering her time and service to her
church, going out to eat with her nieces Tena and Flo, reading her Bible,
and visiting with friends and family. In her younger days Faye enjoyed the
love of the farm tending to the chickens and cats. She was a very giving
individual always putting others first.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Velma VanBibber and
one brother, Eugene Spencer VanBibber.
She is survived by her sister, Carol VanBibber of Rolla, Missouri; nieces
and nephews, Cora Benoit of Alaska, Mark VanBibber of St. James, Missouri,
Tena Richard and husband Dan of St. James, Missouri, Flo Feeler of
St. James, Missouri, Rita Anderson and husband James of Minnesota; great
nieces and nephews, Cody and Amy Feeler of St. James, Missouri, Daniel
Richard Jr. and Mark Richard of St. James, Missouri, Natasha Richard of
New York, Kacie, Spencer, and Wesley VanBibber of St. James, Missouri, Kayla
and Joshua Anderson of Minnesota, Michael Benoit Alaska and Christiana and
Andrew Benoit of California.
A celebration of life was held at the Jones Funeral Home on Tuesday 18, 2010
from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday 19, 2011 at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James with David Scudder officiating.
Pallbearers were Daniel Richard Jr., Daniel Richard Sr. Mark Richard, Cody
Feeler, Spencer VanBibber and Westley VanBibber. Honorary pallbearers were
Amy Feeler, Kayla Anderson, Natasha Richard and Kacie VanBibber.
Burial was in the family plot at the Macedonia Cemetery.

Missouri.
Mary Lou Woods
Mary Lou Woods of St. Clair, Missouri was born in Steelville, Missouri on
May 26, 1921 to Ernie Otto and Stella Brown Slovensky and passed away
December 14, 2010 at Washington, Missouri at the age of 89 years, 6 months
and 18 days.
On December 25, 1948 she married John Robert Woods and to this union two
children were born.
Mary Lou was a Christian and a long-time member of the United Methodist
Church of St. Clair, Missouri. She was active as a Sunday school teacher
and prayer group leader and was also a member of the United Methodist Women.
She had received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education at Southeast Missouri
State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She taught at various schools
in both Franklin and Crawford counties. She then was employed at St. Clair
Elementary School and continued there as a third grade teacher for 25 years.
She was a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association. She served as
a 4-H leader, was an avid reader, enjoyed camping, fishing and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernie and Stella Slovensky; her
husband, John; son, David Leroy Woods; one brother, Ernest Slovensky and one
sister, Elizabeth Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Diane Woods of Maryland Heights,
Missouri; two brothers, Henry Slovensky and wife Vivian of Steelville,
Missouri and Edward Slovensky of Grants Pass, Oregon; other relatives and
friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 17, 2010 at the
Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, Missouri with Rev. Linda Harris
and Rev. Thomas Slovensky officiating.
Interment was in the Liberty Community Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri.

St. Clair, Missouri.
