Rose Marie Addison
Rose Marie (nee Casten) Addison, was born in Steelville,
Missouri to the union of Harold and Edith (Riggs) Casten. She passed
away on Thursday, January 13, 2005, at the age of 72 years.
Beloved wife for 42 years of Ray L. Addison. Dearest
mother of Matthew (Peggy) Addison and Allison (Larry) Gillum. She
was the loving grandmother of Zachary Addison, Jacob and Trevor
Gillum. Our dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.
Rose Marie became a fan of Gene Autry as early as 1939.
She was thrilled to become a member of his fan club in 1947. From
1952 to the present she had served in several capacities including
contributor, co-president and president.
Visitation was at Kutis South County Chapel, St. Louis
on Monday, January 17 from 2-9 p.m. She was then taken to Bayless
Baptist Church on Tuesday, January 18 for visitation 11:30 a.m until
time of service at 12:30 p.m. Interment was in the Jefferson
Barracks National Cemetery.
Harold D. Helms
Harold Dewayne Helms of Steelville, Missouri was born on
Sunday, January 13, 1924 in Dillard, Missouri to John David Helms
and Alma E. Anderson Helms. He passed away in his home on Sunday,
January 9, 2005 at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 27 days.
Harold married Marcella Marie Fowler on August 11, 1943
in Potosi, Missouri and to this union six children were born. He
later married Linda L. Brown on March 1, 1974 in Steelville,
Missouri and to union five children were born.
Harold worked as a general contractor in construction
most of his working career. He was a member of Elayer Pentecostal
Church where he enjoyed singing and playing many different
instruments. His other hobbies were fishing, camping, bird watching
and especially traveling out west.
He was preceded in death by his parents; oldest son
Delmar Helms; brothers Vernon Helms and John Helms; father-in-law
John "Edw" Brown; sisters-in-law Mabel Callahan and Edna Brown;
son-in-law Tom Glore; and daughter-in-law Barbara Ann Helms.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Linda
of the home; children Barbara (Ray) Francouer of Licking, Mo.,
Phillip (Debbie) Helms, and Janet Glore, all of Steelville, Mo.,
Loretta (Bill) Marrill of Salem, Mo., Patricia (Leonard) Martin of
Cherryville, Mo., Roger (Michelle) Brown, Anessa (Timothy) LaRue,
Karalee Ledbetter, Rachel Helms, Harold Helms, II, and Kyle Helms,
all of Steelville, Mo.; sisters Bonnie (Arthur) Hines of Waterloo,
Illinois, and Goldie Lucille Calahan of Cuba, Mo.; mother-in-law
Nellie Brown of Cherryville, Mo.; sisters-in-law Mary (Dewight)
Martin, Leatha Setzer; brothers-in-law Edward "Eddie" Brown, Harry
Brown, Harrison "Allen" (Patricia) Brown, Jenny Helms, all of
Cherryville, Mo. and Don Jackson of Cardova, Tennessee; 21
grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins,
and friends.
Visitation was Thursday, January 13, 2005 from 5-9 at
Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Funeral Services were Friday,
January 14, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.
with Rev. A. Roberdes officiating. Burial in Steelville Cemetery,
Steelville, Mo. All arrangements under the direction of Hutson
Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo.
Valencia Charmaign Medley
Valencia (Val) Charmaign Medley of Cuba, Missouri was
born on May 2, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Herbert
Adelbert Medley and Kathryn Vonnella Scroggins Medley and passed
away suddenly on January 5, 2005 at the age of 49 years 8 months and
3 days.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Dr. Joseph
Scroggins, a chiropractor for many years in Cuba, Missouri.
Val owned and operated Groomingdales in Cuba, Missouri
(a dog grooming business) for many years. She was a member of the
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Rolla, Missouri.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life
are her loving mother and step-father, Kathryn and Robert Tiemeyer;
brother Herbert Adelbert Medley II and wife Beverly; other relatives
and many friends.
Val was a loving daughter, sister, good friend to all
who knew her and will be sadly missed.
Memorial services will be held January 29, 2005 at 2
p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 693 Forum
Drive, Rolla, Missouri.

Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Mildred Louise Ransom
Mildred Louise Ransom nee Dicus was born Tuesday, April 24, 1923,
a daughter of the late Calvin Samuel Dicus and Etta Isolene (Cassidy)
Dicus.
She departed this life Saturday, January 8, 2005, at the
Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Sullivan, Missouri, at the age of
81 years, 8 months and 14 days. On December 31, 1945, Mildred was
united in marriage to Virgil Elmer Ransom. They enjoyed over 47
years together before his death, July 15, 1993.
In addition to her parents and Virgil, she was preceded
in death by one son, Roger Caron; four brothers, Fred Dicus and wife
Hazel, Waymon Dicus and wife Dellie, Thomas H. Dicus and Samuel J.
Dicus; two sisters, Irma Dicus and Ruth Harmon; brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law, Conn Young, Dewey and Vivian Ransom, Clyde and
Hallie Ransom, Jack and Lillie Ransom, Elsie and Darrell Harmon,
Celia and William Walls, Cecil Hedrick, Mabel Ransom and Eurina
Ransom and one grandson, Johnny Cleo Chandler.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her
devoted children, Bonnie DeClue and special friend Sonny Haffer,
Janet and husband Cleo Chandler, Sidney Ransom and wife Cecelia, all
of Steelville, Missouri, Ron Caron and wife Glenda of Cuba,
Missouri, Wilbur Ransom, Larry Harmon and wife Misty, Johnnie
Ransom, Emery Ransom and wife Gloria, Dean Harmon, Paul Harmon and
wife Sue and Janis Cox, all of Steelville, Missouri; two sisters,
Pansy Young and Edith Dunn and husband Arnold of Steelville,
Missouri; brother-in-laws and sisters-in-law, Roy Harmon of
Cherryville, Missouri, Vetta and Eldon Dunlap, Fern Hedrick and
Herbert Ransom of Steelville, Missouri; 23 grandchildren; 36 great
grandchildren, three great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews,
cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Mildred Louise Ransom lay in state 3-8 p.m. Monday,
January 10, 2005, at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 11,
2005, in the Britton Chapel, with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.
Danny Gruver sang, In The Garden and Where We'll Never Grow Old,
with accompanist Deloris Bell.
Committal prayers and interment was in Steelville
Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were Chad
Caron, Rick Chandler, David DeClue, Joe DeClue, D. J. Harmon and
Tony Ransom.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Britton
Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Jesse Frank Rodriguez
Jesse Frank Rodriguez of Cuba, Missouri was born on
December 24, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Placido
Rodriguez and Frances Kosacik Rodriguez and passed away on January
27, 2005 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 75 years 13 days.
On September 21, 1987 he was united in marriage to Fern
L. Bardl in Steelville, Missouri. They were happily married until
Fern preceded him in death on September 6, 2003.
Jesse was also preceded in death by his parents and one
brother Sidro Rodriguez.
On November 28, 1952 he enlisted in the United States
Marine Corp and was honorably discharged on January 26, 1954. He was
a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life
are his daughter Susan Rankin and husband Michael; son Jesse F.
Rodriguez, Jr.; stepson Sean Smith; two brothers Richard Rodriguez
and wife Geraldine and Joe Rodriguez and wife Elvie; two sisters
Gloria Bader and husband David and Delores Plunkett and husband
Edward; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nieces;
nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Jesse was a devoted husband, loving father, step-father,
brother, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
Jesse Frank Rodriguez was in state at the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri where funeral services were held on
Monday, January 10, 2005 at 11 a.m. with Bob Coleman officiating.
Interment was in the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
All arrangements under the direction of the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
