Reinhold George Albert, Jr.
Reinhold George Albert, Jr. was born Sunday, December 6, 1925, at
St. Louis, Missouri, a son of the late Reinhold George Albert, Sr. and
Eemilie (Koebele) Albert. He entered eternal rest Sunday, January 11, 2004,
at the Missouri Baptist Medical Center, Sullivan, Missouri, at the age of 78
years, 1 month and 5 days.
R.G. served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He
went into the service at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, June 10, 1944 and
was honorably discharged June 12, 1946 at the Separation Center, Fort
Leavenworth, Kansas. He served with the 75th Combat Infantry Division in
the Rhineland, Central Europe, and was awarded the Combat Victory and Good
Conduct Medals and Ribbon.
On April 29, 1961, at Steelville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to
Fern Housewright, daughter of the late Eva (Holland) and Jona Housewright.
One son and two daughters were born to this union. They have enjoyed over
42 years together, making their home near Steelville.
In addition to his parents, mother-in-law and father-in-law, he was
preceded in death by two brothers, George Albert and wife Sophia, Art
Albert and wife Virginia and three sisters, Dorothy and husband Don
Gravatt, Elizabeth and husband Julius Diefenbach, Mae Pipkins and husband
Jack; brothers-in-law Bill Frey, Albert Sparks, Arthur Lee Housewright,
Clifford Housewright, James Prentice and sister-in-law Mary Ann Hughes.
Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted wife Fern
Albert of the home in Steelville, Missouri; their son and two daughters,
Junette Tool of Rolla, Missouri, Scott Albert and wife Renee of Pacific,
Missouri, Annette and husband Brian Fowler of Wentzville, Missouri.
One brother Bob Albert and wife Joann of St. Peters, Missouri; five
sisters Mary Sparks of St. Peters, Missouri, Carol Dace and husband Cy of
Sullivan, Missouri, Shirley Williams and husband Henry of Cuba, Missouri,
Joan Slade and husband Harold of Davisville, Missouri and Mildred Frey of
St. Louis, Missouri. Six grandchildren, Kristina, Jimmy, Taylor, Emilie,
Josh and Graham; one great grandson Evan; nieces, nephews, cousins, other
relatives and many friends.
Reinhold George Albert, Jr. laid in state 3-8 p.m. Monday, January 12,
2004 at the Britton Bros. Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Funeral
services were held 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2004 in the Britton Chapel
with Rev. Harold Slade and Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Musical
selections were provided by Rev. Beers and a granddaughter Emilie Toole.
Committal prayers and interment were in Meramec Hill Memorial Gardens,
Cuba, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were Rick Branson, Marty Cook, Larry
Hughes, Jeff Housewright, Joe Housewright, Roger Housewright, Mick Slade and
Larry Williams. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Jerry Albert, Bill
Gibson, Urban Kuenz, Jim McDole, Ronnie Squires, Bill Waller and Jim Woods.
Full military honors were provided graveside by the Eastern Area Military
Honors program. Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral
Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Patricia A. Boske
Patricia A. Boske nee Kavanagh of Cuba, Missouri was born on February 11, 1921
in Badaxe, Michigan to the union of John and Mary Elizabeth Clements
Kavanagh and passed away on January 13, 2004 in St. Louis, Missouri at the
age of 71 years 11 months and 2 days.
On April 30, 1955 Patricia was united in marriage to Donald Boske at
Badaxe, Michigan. One son, Donald Boske, Jr. and four daughters, Mary
Beth, Jean Marie, Barbara Ann and Joan K., were born to this union. They
were blessed with almost 49 years together.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her loving
husband Donald Boske of the home in Cuba, Missouri; one son, Donald
Fredrick Boske, Jr.; four daughters, Mary Beth Moss and husband Larry,
Jean Marie Bernsen and husband Joe, Barbara Ann Tierney and Joan K. Thomas
and husband Mark; brother Martin Kavanagh; sisters Helen Kladzyk and Jean
Mario; former son-in-law David Tierney; seven grandchildren; one great
grandchild; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Patricia was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, grandmother, great
grandmother, aunt, good friend to all who knew her and will be sadly
missed.
Patricia A. Boske was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba,
Missouri where private family services were held on Friday, January 16,
2004 at 11 a.m. with Father James Finder officiating. All arrangements
were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
John Burleson, Jr.
John Burleson, Jr., of Ballwin, Missouri was born on October 31, 1931 in
St. Louis, Missouri to the union of John Burleson, Sr. and Myrtle Marie
Stagner Burleson and passed away on January 10, 2004 at the age of 72
years, 2 months and 9 days.
John was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Melvin and
Donald Burleson. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are
his two brothers James Burleson and wife Joan and Gary Burleson and wife
Marge, one sister Irma Sprinkle; one sister-in-law Rita Burleson; nieces;
nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. John was a loving son, brother,
uncle, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
Funeral services for John Burleson, Jr. were held on Monday, January 12,
2004 at 2 p.m. at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Bob
Coleman officiating. Interment was in the Enloe-Hodge Cemetery, Cuba,
Missouri. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home
of Cuba, Missouri.
Amos Ray Busbey
Amos Ray Busbey of Yellville, Arkansas was born on June 12, 1942 at West
Fork, Missouri to the union of Amos Busbey and Lida Mayo Ferguson Busbey
and passed away on January 15, 2004 at the Baxter Regional Medical Center
of Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 61 years 7 months and 3 days.
Ray was preceded in death by his father Amos Busbey, one daughter Tanya
Busbey and two sisters Carolyn Sue and Irene Busbey.
On September 7, 1996, he was united in marriage to Connie Theresa
Thibodeaux. He served in the Marines and was a Vietnam Veteran.
Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving wife
Connie Theresa Busbey of the home; his mother, Mayo Busbey of Springfield,
Missouri; daughters Terry Mangum and husband Harold of Panama City,
Florida and Kayla Hilton and husband Don of Yellville, Arkansas.
Stepsons Dean Peterson and wife Mary of New Orleans, Louisiana and Damian
Peterson of Pompano Beach, Florida; stepdaughters Christine Scott and
husband Michael of New Orleans, Louisiana; sisters Joyce Seabaugh and
husband Garry of Springfield, Missouri.
One grandson Harold Mangum, Jr.; eight stepgrandchildren Brandon, Jarryd,
Destiny and Chassidy Scott and Jerzi, Aryana, Dale Jr., and Tyler
Peterson; two nieces Angela Wright and Danielle Deves; four great nephews
Corey, Skylar and Haleigh Wright and Nicholas Deves; other relatives and
friends.
Ray was a devoted husband, loving son, father, stepfather, grandfather,
brother, uncle, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed.
Memorial services for Amos Ray Busbey were held on Saturday, January 17,
2004 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. All arrangments under
the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Herman L. "Pete Gruver
Herman Lee "Pete" Gruver of Cuba, Mo. was born in Fanning, Mo. on
Wednesday, May 19, 1937 to Herman Gruver and Bessie Ellen Pyatt Gruver. He
passed away in his home on Friday, January 9, 2004 at the age of 66 years,
7 months and 21 days.
Pete was united in marriage to Sue Ann Bales on May 4, 1968 in Cuba, Mo.
and to this union four children were born. He lived most of his life in the
Cuba area and was employed at McGinnis Wood Products before retirement. His
hobbies were wood cutting, talking about old times with everyone, doing yard
work and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herman and Bessie Pyatt Gruver;
his son Brian Murray; brother-in-law Granville Rahl, John Copeland, and
Earl Fortner.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife of the home Sue Gruver;
children Steve Gregory of Wisconsin, Sheila West and husband Kelly, Anita
Clausen and husband Tom all of Bourbon, Mo., Saveda Bollinger and Amy
Gruver of Cuba, Mo.; brothers James Gruver and wife Verna, Jack and Sharon
Gruver, all of Cuba, Mo.; sisters Louise LaSay and husband Bill of Spring
Bluff, Mo., Arlene Rahl and Shirley Gruver, all of DeSoto, Mo., Nelly
Studdard and husband Harold of Pea Ridge, Mo., Betty Hoskins and husband
Leroy of Cuba, Mo.; sister-in-law Shirley Callahan of Cuba, Mo.; 16
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Hutson
Funeral Home, Cuba, Mo. with Chaplain Windle Starns officiating. Burial
was in Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. All arrangements under the direction of
Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Mo.
Florence Geneva Kitchen
Florence Geneva Kitchen nee Land of Cuba, Missouri was born on
September 5, 1904 in Leasburg, Missouri to the union of Simon Peter Land
and Henrietta Adeline Avery Land and passed away on January 10, 2004 at Cuba,
Missouri at the age of 99 years, 4 months and 5 days.
On September 4, 1921 Geneva was united in marriage to Waldo Kitchen at
Leasburg, Missouri. Two sons, Lawrence and Elbert, and one daughter,
Bernice, were born to this union. They were happily married until Waldo
preceded her in death on November 10, 1972.
Geneva was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Jim,
Walter, Elpha and Martin Land and three sisters, Lella Corwin, Daphna
Nixon and Hazel Kramer.
Geneva and Waldo were long-time residents of Crawford County. She was a
member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Bourbon, Missouri.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her two sons,
Lawrence Kitchen and wife Ruthene and Elbert Kitchen and wife Sandra; one
daughter Bernice Eads; eight grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren;
two great great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many
friends.
Geneva was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, grandmother, great
grandmother, great great grandmother, good friend to all who knew her and
will be sadly missed.
Florence Geneva Kitchen was in state at the Britton Funeral Home in Cuba,
Missouri where funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at
1 p.m. with Rev. Harry Pryor officiating. Interment was in the Lickcreek
Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
Those who served as pallbearers were Kenneth, Ronald, Keith, and Burke
Kitchen, Roger, Darrell, and Steve Eads, and Ladonna Cain. All arrangements
were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo.
Nancy "Joella" Nixon
Nancy "Joella" Nixon was born Sunday, December 7, 1919 in Longmont,
Colorado to the late Seth Burdette Martin and Mary Rice Martin and
departed this life Wednesday, January 14, 2004 in Steelville, Mo. at the
age of 84 years, 1 month and 7 days.
Joella graduated from Orton-Rice Business College in Columbia, Mo. and
worked as a legal secretary for Orrsapp and Woods law firm for several
years. She married Charles Ellis in 1948 and they made their home together
until his death in 1958.
Joella later married William "Morgan" Nixon in 1969 and they made their
home together in Steelville until his death in 1991. She remained in her
home until she fell a few days ago and decided to stay with Jim and Leona
Jones and their family.
Joella accepted the Lord many years ago and was a member of the Pleasant
Hill Church west of Steelville, Mo. She enjoyed her cats, reading,
writing, collecting antiques, and visiting with friends. Joella was
preceded in death by her parents, husbands Charles Ellis, and Morgan
Nixon.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her special friends Jim and
Leona Jones of Steelville, Mo. and Karen and Gene Crawford of Union
Springs, Alabama; her step-children from her first marriage, Darrell Ellis
of Ashland, Mo., Dolly Olsan and husband James of Columbia, Mo., Phoebe
Begemann and husband Robert of Columbia, Mo., Hallie Bass Calviro of
Columbia, Mo. Her step-granddaughters Saumerna Sapp and husband Kenneth of
Ashland, Mo., Glenda Scanlan and husband Dr. Charles Scanlan of College
Station, Texas, Linda McKenzie and husband Ray of Hallsville, Mo.; other
relatives and friends all who will sadly miss and fondly remember Nancy
"Joella" Nixon.
Visitation was held Saturday, January 17, 2004 from 10 a.m. till time of
service at 11 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo. Funeral
Service was held Saturday, January 17, 2004 at the Hutson Funeral Chapel in
Steelville, Mo. with Rev. Delmar B. Hutson and Rev. Don Wissman officiating.
Paul Hutson sang "Beyond the Sunset" and "I Won't Have to Cross Jordon Alone"
accompanied by Dorothy Hutson on the piano. Pallbearers were Earl Ware, Bobbie
Jones, Paul Fulliam, Steve Hammonds, Curtis Hayes and Danny Ogle. Burial was in
the Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, Mo. All arrangements under the direction
of the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo.
Harry Leroy "Sam" Putnam
Harry Leroy "Sam" Putnam of Cuba, Missouri was born on Thursday,
August 28, 1969 in St. Louis, Missouri to Truman Leroy Putnam and Linda
Darlene Stroupe Putnam. He passed away in his home on Saturday,
January 10, 2004 at the age of 34 years, 4 months and 13 days along with his
two sons Samuel Richard Joseph and Matthew Christopher Putnam.
"Sam" was married to Debra Kay Boyer on June 6, 1992 in St. Louis,
Missouri and to this union three sons were born. At a young age, "Sam"
made a profession of faith to Jesus Christ and was baptized at First
Baptist Church, Steelville, Missouri.
"Sam" was recently employed at Schnucks in St. Louis, Missouri. His
hobbies were hunting, fishing and buying and trading cars. He was an avid
fan of the St. Charles River Otters Hockey team. He most of all enjoyed
spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents Harry and Maude
Stroupe and Margaret Heflin; uncles Fred Stroupe, Joseph Stroupe and
Richard Holmes.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Debra and son Jacob
Robert Putnam of the home; mother Linda Helfin and husband Richard Heflin
of Cuba, Missouri; mother-in-law and father-in-law Michael J. and Dorothy
Boyer of St. Peters, Missouri. Brothers William Helfin and companion Carrie
Coleman, Waylon Heflin and companion Kerri McDaniels, all of Cuba, Missouri;
brother-in-law and sister-in-law Michael R. Boyer, William Boyer and Renee
Boyer, all of St. Louis, Missouri; nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives
and many friends.

Matthew Christopher Putnam
Matthew Christopher Putnam of Cuba, Missouri was born on Tuesday,
September 28, 1993 in Rolla, Missouri to Harry Leroy "Sam" Putnam and
Debra Kay Boyer Putnam. He passed away in his home on Saturday,
January 10, 2004 at the age of 10 years, 3 months and 13 days along with his
dad "Sam" and brother Samuel Richard Joseph Putnam.
Matthew was a third grade student at Cuba Elementary and was in Mrs.
Rardin's class. He loved to watch wrestling and the Hulk series. He also
liked to play with action toys and Pokemon.
Matthew was preceded in death by his great grandparents Harry and Maude
Stroupe, Michael L. Boyer and Rose T. Rulo Boyer; great grandfather Robert
S. Baker and great grandmother Margaret Heflin.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his mother Debra and brother
Jacob Robert Putnam of the home; grandparents Linda and Richard Helfin of
Cuba, Missouri, Michael J. and Dorothy Boyer of St. Peters, Missouri;
great grandmother Birdie Baker of St. Peters, Missouri; uncles, aunts,

Samuel Richard Joseph Putnam
Samuel Richard Joseph Putnam of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday,
November 18, 1992 in St. Louis, Missouri to Harry Leroy "Sam" Putnam and
Debra Kay Boyer Putnam. He passed away in his home on Saturday, January
10, 2004 at the age of 11 years, 1 month and 23 days along with his dad
"Sam" and brother Matthew Christopher Putnam.
Samuel was a fourth grade student at Cuba Elementary and was in Ms.
Connealy's class. He loved Art and especially liked to draw. He also
collected baseball cards and had over 5,000.
Samuel was preceded in death by his great grandparents Harry and Maude
Stroupe, Michael L. Boyer and Rose T. Rulo Boyer; great grandfather Robert
S. Baker and great grandmother Margaret Heflin.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his mother Debra and brother
Jacob Robert Putnam of the home; grandparents Linda and Richard Helfin of
Cuba, Missouri, Michael J. and Dorothy Boyer of St. Peters, Missouri;
great grandmother Birdie Moody Baker of St. Peters, Missouri; uncles,

Bobby Gene Sellers
Bobby Gene Sellers was born Monday, September 24, 1928, in Jackson County,
Arkansas, a son of the late Ernest Sellers and Ada (Billingsley) Sellers.
He entered eternal life Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at St. John's Mercy
Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 75 years, 3 months and 18
days.
On April 8, 1950, at New Port, Arkansas, Bobby was united in marriage to
Loudean Edens. One son and three daughters were born to this union. They
have enjoyed over 53 years together.
Among those who remain to mourn his passing are his devoted wife Loudean
Sellers (nee Edens) of Hazelwood, Missouri; three daughters and one son,
Paula Sellers-Klass of Augusta, Missouri, Terry Sellers and wife Donna,
Christal and husband Edward Politte, Kelly and husband James Counts, all
of Hazelwood, Missouri. Nine grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Charles Edens
of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Jim Edens of Bradford, Arkansas; nieces,
nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by one brother,
Hershel Elwood (Porky) Sellers.
Bobby Gene Sellers laid in state 3-8 p.m. Thursday, January 15, 2004,
Alexander Funeral Home, St. Ann, Missouri and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday,
January 16, 2004, at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri. Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Friday, January 16, 2004, in
the Britton Chapel. The eulogy was given by a daughter, Christal Politte,
and the service conducted by Jesse Hogan. Musical selections were provided by
Johnny Setzer. Committal prayers and interment were in Sellers Cemetery,
Dillard, Missouri. Serving as pallbearers were Tanner Barnett, Keith Edens,
Kim Edens, Homer Sargent Jason Sellers, Tim Sellers and John Setzer.
Local arrangements were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri.
