Donald Blackwell
Donald Blackwell of St. James, Missouri was born on October 9, 1951, to
Leonard and Viola Lennox Blackwell and passed away on Thursday,
January 15, 2009 at the age 57 years, 3 months and 6 days of age.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by one brother, Jim Blackwell and wife Margaret of
Springfield, Missouri; nephews, Todd and wife Jill, Blake Blackwell and
Marc Blackwell.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2009, at the Jones
Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at the
Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Jess Rinehart and
Steve Helterbrand officiating.
Burial in the family plot in the Oak Grove Cemetery in rural St. James,
Missouri.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in
St. James, Missouri.
Lora J. Collins
Lora Jean Collins of Steelville, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born
to the union of Loyd Eugene and Sharon (Webster) Mahurin on February 27, 1973
in Rolla, Missouri and passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in Steelville,
Missouri at the age of 35 years, 10 months and 18 days.
Lora was a student at Columbia College in Rolla where she was obtaining a
Bachelors of Administration Degree in Business Management and Accounting.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Leasburg, Missouri.
She enjoyed children, animals, crocheting, reading, cooking, playing a game
of cards and Yahtzee. But what she enjoyed most was spending time with her
family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lawrence and Eula Mahurin,
George Webster; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her husband, James W. Collins of Steelville, Missouri;
two sons, Devon Politte of Bourbon, Missouri and C.J. Collins of Steelville,
Missouri; her parents of Cuba, Missouri; two sisters, Karen and husband Bill
Parkins of Cuba, Missouri and Jessie Mahurin of Cuba, Missouri; grandmother,
Betty Webster of St. James, Missouri; one nephew, James Mendoza of Cuba,
Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. at Britton Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was Sunday, January 18, 2009 at 4 p.m. at the Britton Funeral
Home with Pastor Donald Vaughn, officiating.

Jimmie Davis
Jimmie Davis was born Sunday, April 10, 1921 in Beaver Dam, Kentucky and
passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 at the Gibbs Care Center in Steelville,
Missouri at the age of 87 years, 8 months, and 29 days.
Jimmie served in the United States Army during WWII.
He married Rebecca Ann Goodman on October 18, 1963 in East St. Louis,
Illinois.
He was a plumber by trade and a member of Plumbers Local #35 in St. Louis,
Missouri, before retiring in 1974. He was a member of VFW Post #696
in Owensboro, Kentucky. He enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing, and
working crossword puzzles.
Jimmie and Rebecca made their home together in St. Louis, Missouri, where
they managed a trailer park from 1960 to 1974. They bought property in
Cherryville, Missouri in 1972 and moved there in 1974 after retiring. They
then moved to Owensboro, Kentucky in 1988 to be near family until his
siblings passed away. He and Rebecca moved back to Steelville, Missouri to
be closer to their foster grandchildren, and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers and sisters, and two
step children.
He is survived by his wife of Steelville, Missouri; foster grandchildren
Lisa and Jim Davis of Steelville, Missouri; foster great grandchildren,
Crystal and Tommy Cox, Jason and Jessica Bryant, and Rusty and Kayla Davis,
all of Steelville, Missouri and Carl and Jamie Davis of Cherryville,
Missouri; foster great great grandchildren and friends.
Visitation was Monday, January 12, 2009 from 11 a.m. until funeral service
at 1 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with
Rev. Delmar B. Hutson officiating.
Music selections were “Amazing Grace” and “The Old Rugged Cross” sang by
Paul Hutson.
Pallbearers were Rusty and Carl Davis, Jason Bryant, and Tommy Cox.
Burial in the Steelville Cemetery Steelville, Missouri.

Arnold Louie Dunn
Arnold Louie Dunn, of Steelville, Missouri was born September 21, 1921 to
Marion Jackson Dunn and Alice (Kent) Dunn in Oates, Missouri. He passed away
on Monday, January 12, 2009 in Steelville, Missouri at the age of 87 years.
On June 1, 1974, he was married to Edith Rosella (Dicus) Hardin in Oates,
Missouri.
Arnold worked on the freight docks in St. Louis and as a laborer at
Grammers Fruit Packers in Murphysboro, Illinois before retiring.
He enjoyed traveling and especially to Colorado when his health permitted.
He was a member of the Coffee Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two step sons, Gene Dicus and Danny
Hardin; step son-in-law, Earl Hanks, Jr.; one brother, Orville Dunn; one
sister, Ola Mable Ross and husband William and one sister-in-law, Goldie Dunn.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years; his children, Rita Ricketts of
Steelville, Missouri, Darryl Dunn and wife Nadine of Texas, Lavonna Gay Bell
and husband Lyle and Bradley Dunn and wife Janice, all of Nebraska, Berta
Sue Wheelock and husband James and Pam Ellis and husband John, all of
Colorado and Kenny Dunn and wife Janice of Illinois; step children, Joyce
Hanks and Jeanette Wisdom and husband Ron of Steelville, Missouri, Jerry
Hardin of Cuba, Missouri, Joe Hardin and wife Barb of Union, Missouri,
Sandra Zulpo and husband Earnie of St. James, Missouri and Dennis Hardin
and wife Bonnie of Joplin, Missouri; one step daughter-in-law, Geraldine
Dicus of Steelville, Missouri; one sister, Wanda Pearl Outlan and friend
Richard Dunson of Carbondale, Illinois; three brothers; Kenneth Elwood Dunn
and David Earl Dunn and wife Elizabeth, all of Steelville, Missouri and
Bobby Olin Dunn and wife Jennifer of Potosi, Missouri; one sister-in-law,
Nora Fay Dunn of Arcadia, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, several great
grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren, 32 step great grandchildren; other

Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2009 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Beers
officiating. Special music of “In the Garden” and “Go Rest High” were sung
by Rev. Jerry Beers.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Steelville Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Jason Davis, Richard White, Allen Brown, Joseph Hardin,
Eugene Dicus and Jonathan Dunn.

Lester Norman Findorff, Jr.
Lester Norman Findorff, Jr. of Crane, Missouri formerly of the Chicago,
Illinois area, was born Wednesday, January 29, 1947 at Evergreen Park,
Illinois to the union of Lester N. Findorff, Sr. and Lorena (nee Powers)
Findorff and passed away Monday, January 12 at Crane, Missouri at the age
of 61 years, 11 months and 14 days.
Lester served in the United States Army from August 31, 1964 until
August 28, 1967. During this time he spent two years nine months and 11 days
in Italy. He received the Mechanic Badge, National Defense Service Medal and
the Sharpshooter (Rifle) Medal. He served in the United States Army Reserves
until the 30th of August 1970.
He started working as a mechanic before entering the service and continued
after the service. He drove a tow truck and was a repo man for several years
before becoming a truck driver. During his spare time he enjoyed fishing,
riding his Harley and was a member of the DC Eagles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his children, Angie and husband Shawn McCarter of
Springfield, Missouri, Lester and wife Rebecca Findorff of Billings, Missouri
and Amanda Findorff of Springfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Hailee,
Jaiden and Logan Findorff, Aralynn Dillard and Doniven Bacus; two sisters,
Patricia Mantey and Irene Wegner, both of Florida; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was held Saturday, January 17, 2009 from 1-3 p.m. at Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service with military honors was held at 3 p.m. on Saturday,
January 17, 2009 at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.

Melvin L. Garrison
Melvin L. Garrison of Washington, Illinois was born on June 5, 1922 in Huzzah,
Missouri to Alfred “Pappy” and Nettie Harper Garrison and passed away Friday,
January 9, 2009 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Illinois at the age of 86 years.
He married June M. Lee on September 15, 1946 in Potosi, Missouri. She preceded
him in death.
Melvin was a US Army veteran serving during World War II.
He worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 35 years.
Melvin had also served as Cub Master for Pack 205 in Sunnyland for many years.
He was a “Jack of All Trades,” and a master of all, using his Caterpillar D-2
tractor to help build the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in East Peoria
where he was a member.
He is survived by a daughter, Helen Garrison of Washington, Illinois; two sons,
Jerry W. Garrison of Ashland, Montana and Terry L. Garrison of Sheridan,
Wyoming; four sisters, Mildred (Paul) Pennock of East Peoria, Illinois, Delma
Garrison and Norma (Calvin) Fowler, both of Bourbon, Missouri and Bettie
(Randy) Deverger of Bowling Green, Missouri; five grandchildren, Laura (Thad)
Powell of Washington, Illinois, Robyn (Tim West) McMaster of Belleville,
Illinois, Sandra (Brice) Beyer of Ashland, Montana, Gregory Garrison of Peoria,
Illinois and James (Misty) Garrison of Sheridan, Wyoming; eight great
grandchildren, Geoffery, Anna, Sarah, Wesley, Evelyn, Edward, Thomas, and
Katie; other relatives and friends.
Services were at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Glad Tidings Assembly
of God in East Peoria, Illinois with Rev. A. E. Cope, Rev. Thaddeus Powell,
and Rev. Fred Doughty officiating. Deiters Funeral Home in Washington, Illinois
was in charge of the arrangements.
Additional services were at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2009 at the First
Assembly of God Church in Bourbon, Missouri with Rev. J. Allie Baker and
Rev. Thaddeus Powell officiating. Visitation was from 2-3:30 p.m. on Sunday at
the church.
Burial at Bourbon Cemetery in Bourbon, Missouri, with military rites.

William “Bill” Elmer Henry, Jr.
William “Bill” Henry of Rolla, Missouri, was born in Springfield on
January 19, 1925, to William E. Henry, Sr. and Mamie P. (Moran) Henry of
Cuba, Missouri and passed away January 10, 2009, in Columbia, Missouri, at
the age of 83 after a short battle with cancer.
Bill served in the U.S. Army Paratroopers 11th Airborne Infantry Division
during World War II, 1943-1946. His tour of duty included Japan, Luzon and
the Philippines. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Good Conduct medals.
He owned and operated Independent Body Shop for 35 years, retiring in 1990.
He was an active member of the Rolla Community, having served two terms as
a councilman, and was a member of the Rolla Kiwanis Club for over 20 years.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and James Henry.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Madeline (Gilliam) Henry; six
children, Gary Henry, Seymour, Missouri, Don (Susan) Henry, Vichy, Missouri,
John (Bonnie) Henry, Rogers, Arkansas, Larry (Judy) Henry, Camdenton,
Missouri, Linda (Ron) Schweiss, Rolla, Missouri, Pat (Pam) Henry, Jefferson
City, Missouri; 14 grandchildren, Shannon (Patrick) Broyles, Marshfield,
Missouri, Jeff (Julie) Henry, Sparta, Missouri, Nikki (Matt) Cepicky,
Eureka, Missouri, Jason (Larissa) Henry, St. Louis, Missouri, Jeremy
(Linsey) Henry, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Jordan Henry, Vichy, Missouri,
Ashley and Sean Henry, Rogers, Arkansas, Bryce (Laura) Henry, Camdenton,
Missouri, Josh Henry, Rolla, Missouri, Cameron (Alyssa) Schweiss, Austin,
Texas, Caleb Schweiss, Rolla, Missouri, Paige Henry, Jefferson City, Missouri,

He is also survived by five siblings, Irene Ackerman, Sullivan, Missouri,
Kathy Thompson, Sun City, Arizona, Robert Henry, Sun City, Arizona, Alene
McFarren, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Paulene Wagner, Monument, Colorado.
A memorial service was conducted by Pastor Dave Scudder at the Macedonia
Baptist Church, Rolla, Missouri on Saturday, January 17, 2009, at 1 p.m.
Ralph A. Holleuffer
Ralph A. Holleuffer was born in Canada on September 22, 1919 and passed
away on Friday, January 16, 2009.
Ralph was a retired superintendent for an insulation company, served in the
Army during World War II and was a member of Twin Rivers Worship Center in
St. Louis, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Betty M. Holleuffer (nee Cunningham); sons,
Larry Ousley of Pacific, Missouri, Mark (Jennifer) Ousley of Grandview,
Texas, Luke Ousley of St. Louis, Missouri; daughter, Tina (Johnny) Haynes
of St. Clair, Missouri; grandchildren; great grandchildren; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was held at Twin Rivers Worship Center in St. Louis, Missouri
on Sunday, January 18, 2009 from 4-6 p.m.
Interment was Monday, January 19, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Jefferson Barracks
National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Kutis Funeral Home, St. Louis,
Missouri.
Mary “Jackie” Howell
Mary “Jackie” Howell, nee Garrison, of Steelville, Missouri was born on
Monday, October 7, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to Edward Garrison and
Fayetta M. Way Garrison. She passed on Monday, January 12, 2009 at the age
of 73 years, 3 months, and 5 days.
Jackie married Donald E. Howell, Sr. on December 18, 1954 in Wellston,
Missouri and to this union four sons were born.
She previously worked as a customer service rep with an insurance company in
Kansas City, Missouri. Several years ago, she was a member of the St. Joseph
Guild in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Most recently was a member of St. Michael’s
Catholic Church in Steelville, Missouri. She enjoyed spending time on the
computer, but most of all being with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Eddie and Ronald Garrison;
sister, Anita Gregory; sister-in-law, Patricia Howell and brother-in-law,
Daniel Howell.
She is survived by her husband of Steelville, Missouri; sons, Donald E.
(Jackie) Howell, Jr. of O’Fallon, Missouri, Steven M. Howell of St. Charles,
Missouri, Brian K. Howell of Blue Springs, Missouri and Christopher E. Howell
of Raleigh, North Carolina; brother, Terry (Cleta) Garrison of Steelville,
Missouri; brothers-in-law, Tom (Audrey) Gregory of Lebanon, Missouri, Robert
S. Howell of Hendersonville, Tennessee; sisters-in-law, Lynda Garrison of
Arnold, Missouri, Katherine (Charles) Bratkowski of Kirkwood, Missouri and

officiating. Burial at Steelville Cemetery.

Rose Marie Klouzek
Rose Marie Klouzek nee Kamler of Cuba, Missouri was born on Friday,
April 30, 1926 to Joseph Kamler and Ida Enloe Kamler. She passed away at
Cuba Manor on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the age of 82 years, 8 months,
and 14 days.
Marie married Willard James Klouzek on May 20, 1946 in Cuba, Missouri and
to this union five sons were born.
She was a loving mother and devoted homemaker. She loved to cook, clean,
and read. She was a member of the Cuba Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Lucas Klouzek;
sisters-in-law, Reba, Barbara and Lillian Kamler; and brother-in-law, Doris
Spurgeon.
She is survived by her children, Ronnie (Mary) Klouzek of Russelville,
Arkansas, Dean (Linda) Klouzek of Linn, Missouri, Dana (Laura Lee) Klouzek
of Rolla, Missouri, Greg Klouzek and Russell (Brenda) Klouzek, all of Cuba,
Missouri; brothers, Melvin (Noma) Kamler, and John (Grace) Kamler, all of
Cuba, Missouri and Curtis (Dee) Kamler of Joplin, Missouri; sisters,
Georgetta (Frank) Shasserre and Frances (Hugh) McNary, all of Cuba, MO;

Karen Ann Knight
Karen Ann Knight of Newburg, Missouri was born Friday, September 16, 1960
in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Larry and Mary (nee Parrott) Buettner
and passed away Sunday, January 18, 2009 at Newburg, Missouri at the age of
48 years, 4 months and 2 days.
Karen was an excellent homemaker and cook. She enjoyed antiques and always
had a “Heart of Gold.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, David Knight; grandparents; other
relatives and friends.
She is survived by her parents of Cuba, Missouri; two daughters, April Knight
of Steelville, Missouri and Dawn Hayes of St. Louis, Missouri; granddaughters;
two sisters, Linda Faye and husband Allen Pitts of Cook Station, Missouri and
Rebecca Buettner of Cuba, Missouri; one brother, Larry and wife Darla Buettner
of Steelville, Missouri; special friend, Ed Warren of Newburg, Missouri; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, January 19, 2009 from 4-7 p.m. at Britton Funeral
Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Britton Funeral
Home of Cuba, Missouri. Special music for the service “We Will Ride” and
“In the Arms of an Angel.”
Interment in Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Stanley Ness
Stanley Ness of Freistatt, Missouri was born June 15, 1942 in Sullivan,
Missouri to Wayne and Mary Schoonover Ness and passed away December 24, 2008
in Monett, Missouri at the age of 66 years.
He married Joyce Doss on June 3, 1970.
He was a retired postal worker and a Navy veteran. He was a member of the
American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Ness.
He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Erin Ness of San Antonio, Texas;
mother, Mary Ness of Cook Station, Missouri; two brothers, Dewey Ness and
Larry Ness, both of Cook Station, Missouri; and two sisters, Frances Malone
of Salem, Missouri; and Ruth Asher of St. James, Missouri.
Funeral service was December 27, 2008 at Buchanan Funeral Home Chapel,
Monett, Missouri with Wilbur Claude officiating.
Interment was in the Monett I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
