Bornschein and Lisa (Bruno) Stroup and passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the age of 28 years. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Robert Bornschein and Betty Aguillard; step grandfather, Joseph Aguillard and a sister, Shellie Carson. She is survived by two daughters, Alizaya Doyle and Italy Doyle of Rolla, Missouri; her father, Robert J. Bornschein of Salem, Missouri; her mother, Lisa Stroup and husband James of Steelville, Missouri; her brother, Timothy Mansfield of Rolla, Missouri; the children’s father, Bob Doyle of Rolla, Missouri; her maternal grandparents, Gene and Sharon Babcock of Rolla, Missouri. A visitation was held prior to the service beginning at noon until 2 p.m. A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri. Naomi Campbell Naomi Campbell of St. James, Missouri was born on August 28, 1927 in Washington County, Missouri on Bailey Branch to Reverend Norman and Laura Ellen (Thomas) Turnbough Roberts and passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 18 days. While young Naomi and her brothers, Carl and Luke enjoyed their summers playing in the hills and rivers around her family’s homestead in Czar, Missouri. Naomi grew up with her mother and two brothers in Cuba, Missouri. She always loved the rivers, fishing, dancing and laughing with her friends. Although she went on to do many jobs, she was especially proud of being a “railroader” during and after WWII. She traveled as a Station-Agent Operator working at various stations along the Frisco line. In 1947 Naomi married Robert Lionel Campbell at the Cuba Methodist Church and to this union three daughters were born. Naomi and Bob lived many years in St. Louis and Mexico, Missouri. In 1980 they moved to Steelville, Missouri where they purchased the Rainbow Motel. Upon retiring they moved to St. James and in later years she made her home there with her daughter, Laura and her family. Naomi was a member of the St. James United Methodist Church where she loved quilting. She was also a member of the Crawford County Historical Society and volunteered as a tour guide at their museum for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Laura Turnbough Roberts; husband, Robert Lionel Campbell of 51 years on March 4, 1998; three brothers, Carl, Luke and Norie Turnbough; and one sister, Dolly Turnbough. She is survived by three daughters, Tamara Lynn Campbell of Rocheport, Missouri, Rene’ Lee Bushan and husband Lawrence William of Rolla, Missouri and Laura Leone Bond and husband David Len Bond of St. James, Missouri; four grandchildren; Lawrence William Lance Bushan Jr.; Amanda Mae Bushan, Dylan Patrick Bond and Maia Elizabeth Bond. Visitation was on Thursday, January 17, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri. Virginia Cora Johnson Virginia Cora Johnson of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Rolla, Missouri and California was born October 14, 1915 to the union of George Francis and Ada May Potts and passed away Monday, January 14, 2012 at Cuba Manor at the age of 97 years. She was born by midwife on her family’s farmhouse outside Spencerville, Oklahoma. She had three sisters, Anna Louise, Mamie Lucile and Lou and one brother, George Francis II. Virginia went to high school in Fort Towson, Okalahoma, and then went to Commercial College in Fort Smith, Arkansas for business education. While in college, she worked in a family’s house helping with household chores to pay for her room and board. Her first marriage was to Oliver O. Southard. They met at church in Apple, Oklahoma and married in Hugo, Oklahoma on April 6, 1937. He went to California. She moved to California because of the Great Depression and dust bowl. Virginia managed Southard’s Grocery for 16 years in El Sobrante, California while Oliver was a pipe fitter at Keiser Shipyard in Richmond, California. Virginia also worked at Keiser for a short time in the payroll department. After Oliver’s death, Virginia moved to Bakersfield, California. She later met Perry F. Johnson. They were married in Las Vegas on June 26, 1959 and were married for 45 years. After they retired, Perry became the leader of a band, which played for the Great London Circus, a traveling circus out of California as well as for the Carson Barnes Circus out of Hugo, Oklahoma. He played the saxophone and clarinet. Virginia also worked for the circus selling tickets, novelties and reserving box seats as a cashier. They traveled through all 48 states in the six years with the circuses. It was a dream of Virginia to play music, so she learned to play the piano at 72 years of age. She volunteered at the Crown Jewel Veterans Home in California playing in the band, dancing with veterans and putting on the talent shows. She had to memorize music when her eyes started to fail her and she could no longer read music. She memorized 35 different songs. She is survived by one son Don; two grandchildren, Bradley Jay Southard of St. James, Missouri and Kim Suzanne Harmon of Alaska; three great grand- children; other relatives and friends. Johnie Lee Light Johnie Lee Light of St. James, Missouri was born on March 6, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri to James and Alice Light and passed away on January 17, 2013. He was united in marriage to Linda Parsons on September 15, 1980. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alice Light and a sister, Marie Light Vandgrifft. Ronald “Ron” Wayne Matchell Ronald “Ron” Wayne Matchell of Davisville, Missouri was born on Sunday, June 13, 1954 to Clark and Helen Fisher Matchell and passed away in Columbia, Missouri on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the age of 58 years, 7 months and 2 days. Ron served his country honorably in the United States Navy completing two tours of Vietnam. After his discharge, he was employed at Cuba Echo Supply Manufacturing then worked several years for Crawford County Law Enforcement as a road deputy, later as a dispatcher then jailor. He also spent a few years driving for JB Hunt Trucking Co. and Purcell Tire Co. in Potosi, Missouri. He even at one time had his own business, R&K lawn and garden. Ron recently was employed at MEPCO in Cuba, Missouri. He married Karen M. Jauss on October 26, 1991. He previously was a board member of the Steelville Telephone Exchange and also the Meramec Music Theatre. His hobbies were riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, hunting and fishing. Ron was a regular customer at the round table at Spare Rib Cafe in Steelville. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, Clark and Helen Matchell; and sister, Sharon Thieret. He is survived by his wife, Karen M. Matchell of Davisville, Missouri; daughter Jennifer (Gabe) Parrett of Steelville, Missouri; stepdaughters, Alicia (Kenny) Stricklin of Rolla, Missouri and Apryl (Shannon) Welch of Camdenton, Missouri; brother-in-law, Terry (Robin) Keller of Owensville, Missouri; grandchildren Hayleigh Parrett, Lena Stricklin, Evan, Ryan, Olivia, and Owen Welch; other relatives and friends. Margaret Mary Rieken Margaret Mary Rieken was born in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota on June 27, 1923 to Matthias and Mary Caroline (Heembrock) Riewer and passed away January 15, 2013 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mexico, Missouri at the age of 89 years. Margaret was raised on a dairy farm in Minnesota. After her stint as a Quality Assurance Inspector on the B-24 and B-25 bombers in Kansas City, Missouri, she decided to join the Navy. It was during her time as a Navy Nurse in the Bethesda Navel Hospital that she nursed her future husband Vernon Edward Rieken back to health after he had returned from a tour of duty in the Philippines where he had been held as a prisoner of war. Vernon and Margaret were blessed with nine children. She enjoyed cross-country skiing, bowling and baseball, and was a big fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. She also loved to read, embroider, and play dominos. Margaret was a devout Catholic and attended Mass as often as she could. She is survived by her children, Judith Galterio and husband Vincent of Colorado, Daniel Rieken of Columbia, Missouri, Steven Rieken of St. James, Missouri, Rosemary Augustine and husband Cary of New Bloomfield, Missouri, Kevin Rieken of St. James, Missouri, Katherine Horrigan of Florida, Gregory Rieken and wife Yong Joo of St. Louis, Missouri and Michael Rieken of New Bloomfield, Missouri; sister, Ann Jacobi and husband Richard of Belton, Texas; brother, Charles Riewer of Mountain Home, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. William “Bill” Leo Turnbough William “Bill” Leo Turnbough of Steelville, Missouri was born May 13, 1933 in Dillard, Missouri to Thurber and Lillie Sellers Turnbough and passed away Monday, January 14, 2013 in his home at the age of 79 years. On October 31, 1953 in St. Louis, he was united in marriage to Kaye Eileen Lindsey and to this union five children were born. Bill worked for several years in St. Louis, Missouri at Hussman Refrigeration and later retiring from the Crawford County Road District #2. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Cherryville, Missouri and was a deacon and drove the church bus. He worked as a 4-H leader for 16 years. He enjoyed his horses, winning championships in barrel racing and other activities and shod horses throughout the countryside.  In the last several years, he enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thurber and Lillie Turnbough; one son, William “Bill” Turnbough, Jr.; two brothers, Willard and Jake Turnbough; one sister, Wilma Todd and husband Riley; and one grand- daughter, Bobbie Sue. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Kaye Turnbough of Steelville, Missouri; two sons, John and Don Turnbough of Steelville, Missouri; two daughters, Sandy Orr and husband Mike of Cherryville, Missouri and Susan Bogert and husband Charles of Cedar Hill, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Katie, Billy, JoAnna, Kristen, Brandy, Jake, Jessie and Alan; three great grandchildren, Liam, Eydie and Lucy; one sister, Zelma Callahan and husband Vondel of Davisville, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Rosalene Turnbough of Davisville, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Floyd Franklin Turner Floyd Franklin Turner of Owensville, Missouri was born in Viburnum on November 6, 1936 to Edgar and Ida (Chandler) Turner and passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville, Missouri at the age of 76 years, 1 months and 30 days. On March 3, 1962 at St. John’s Lutheran Church at Charlotte he was united in marriage to Helen Wehrend. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Turner. Erma Gladine Whalen Erma Gladine Whalen was born in Steelville, Missouri on October 24, 1922 to Addie Mae Halbert and Guy F. Whalen and passed away on Thursday, January 17, 2013. Erma joined the Steelville First Baptist Church at a very young age. She was very dedicated to her church and her Baptist faith throughout her life. She attended grade school and high school in Steelville, Missouri. She graduated from high school in the spring of 1940. She worked as a secretary for Raymond Rogers Insurance Company and then a clerk at the First National Bank in Steelville, Missouri. She always wanted to go to college, so in January of 1951, she went to Hannibal, Missouri and enrolled in Hannibal-LaGrange College. After graduating from college, she worked as a secretary to the college until she accepted a secretarial position at a large Baptist church in Murray, Kentucky. Hannibal-LaGrange contacted her and asked if she would like to return as manager of the bookstore. She accepted the position and worked there until she decided to go back to Steelville and live with her mother who was growing older and needed care. After her mother passed away Erma moved to St. James, Missouri and lived there until she began to have problems herself as she was developing Alzheimer’s disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, Addie and Guy Whalen; and one sister, Henrietta Irene Whalen. She is survived by her two brothers, Pat Whalen and wife Norma of Sullivan, Missouri and Harry F. Whalen and wife Hilda of Bella Vista, Arkansas; two nieces, Judith Ann Copeland and husband Larry and Dawn Michelle Milheiser and husband Dan; three nephews Patrick L. Whalen, Michael Whalen and wife Marsha and Jerry Whalen and wife Vivian; other relatives and friends. Dorothy was united in marriage to William G. Zaritz on January 29, 1934 in Waterloo, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her husband, William G.
