MO Local Obituaries for the Week of January 23, 2019 Helen Ann Clonts Helen Ann Clonts of Sullivan, Missouri was born on October 5, 1927 in Bourbon, Missouri to William and Luella (Bryan) Roosmann and passed away on Sunday January 13, 2019 at the age of 91 years. As a young lady, Helen worked on her family's dairy farm in Bourbon, Missouri and then later at Paramount Cap Factory, also in Bourbon, Missouri. She married Charles E. Clonts Sr. on Christmas Eve December 24, 1947. Charles and Helen celebrated 59 years of marriage before his death in 2006. Helen loved to spend time with family and travel both home and abroad. She also loved music, dancing, making family photo albums, playing cards and going to Tunica, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Sr.; daughter, Debra Clonts Eye; her parents, William Roosmann and Luella (Bryan) Doyle; grandson, John Charles Eye; one brother, Bill Roosmann; and three sisters, Wilma Smale, Maxine Key and Dorothy Long. She is survived by three children, Linda Klouzek and husband Dean of Linn, Missouri, Teresa Clonts and Barb Brinkmeyer of Eureka, Missouri and Charles E. Clonts Jr. and wife Linda of Sullivan, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Joe Eye and wife TeAnn of Sullivan, Missouri, Perry Klouzek and wife Naomi of Linn, Missouri, Jim Klouzek and wife Tammy of Linn, Missouri, Lacy Klouzek Williams and husband Ian of St. Clair, Missouri, Nick Klouzek and wife Brandy of Linn, Missouri, Abbie Clonts of Sullivan Missouri, Mollie Fancher and husband Brian of Cuba, Missouri and Charles "Chad" Clonts III of Sullivan, Missouri; two step grandchildren, Kristin Clonts and husband Corey of Sullivan, Missouri and Briana Perry and husband Brad of Sullivan, Missouri; one brother, George Roosmann and wife Bonnie of Farmington, Missouri; 20 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan, Missouri with Father Paul E. Telken officiating. Burial followed in the I.O.O.F. James Patrick Copenhagen James Patrick Copenhagen of Rolla, Missouri was born January 8, 1939 in Alton, Missouri to Thurman and Darlene (Hickinbotham) Copenhagen and passed away Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the age of 80 years. On December 14, 1957 he married Carolyn Watson. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Copenhagen of Rolla, Missouri; one son, Kevin Patrick Copenhagen; one daughter, Kimberly Dawn Cox and husband Jay; one sister, Carol Sue Dale; three grandchildren, Emily Ann Kocurek and husband Rick, Kate Elizabeth Hightower and husband Jake and Michael Patrick Burleson; other relatives and friends. Jimmie "Jim" Dale Green Jimmie "Jim" Dale Green of Davisville, Missouri was born May 18, 1941 in Davisville, Missouri to John Edward Green and Mabel Fannie Brown Green and passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the age of 77 years, 7 months and 29 days. Jim served our country honorably in the US Army. He was employed at a Tom Boy grocery warehouse for 18 years and later became self-employed in construction working with his brother, Joe Green. Jim took great care in running his farm keeping it immaculate. He loved taking care of his chickens and all of his farm animals. Jim always enjoyed stopping by to visit his family. He was a faithful member of the Center Ridge Pentecostal Church. The church could always count on Jim being the first one to arrive at the church service. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mabel Green; brothers, infant Charles Green, John (Shirley) Green, Kenny (Doris) Green; infant sister, Linda Louise Green; sister-in-law, Mary Green; and brothers-in-law, Glen Martin, Paul Smith and Leroy Tidwell. He is survived by brothers, Curt Green of St. Charles, Missouri, Harold (Linda) Green of Cherryville, Missouri and Joe (Glenda) Green of Davisville, Missouri; sisters, Marie Martin, Oma Smith and Barbara (Fred) Mertz, all of Cherryville, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Harrison Brown officiating and Mike Abbott reading the obituary. Special music of "Beulah Land," Medley of Heaven songs and "Go Rest High" was sung and played by Bob and Carol Coleman. Committal service and interment with full military honors by the US Army were held at the Martin-Trask Cemetery, Cherryville, Missouri. Janice Irene (Hesemann) Spurgeon Janice Irene (Hesemann) Spurgeon of Raymore, Missouri, formerly of St. James, Missouri, was born on May 31, 1941 to Chester and Helen Ruth (Landwehr) Hesemann in Owensville, Missouri and passed away on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the age of 77 years. She was raised on the family farm north of Owensville, Missouri. Janice married Doyle Spurgeon on September 20, 1958 at the United Methodist Church in Owensville, Missouri. They raised their family in Chamois and later moving to St. James, Missouri. She and Doyle shared many interests but particularly enjoyed fishing and summer evening motorcycle rides. She was a member of First Church of God in St. James. She retired from her work as an administrative assistant at the University of Missouri Rolla (UMR) in the electrical Engineering Dept. She took great pride in her work and made several lifelong friends. Retirement gave her more time to pursue her love of quilting, resulting in many beautiful quilts and new friendships with others who shared her passion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Helen Hesemann; husband, Doyle Spurgeon; sister, Avonell Hesemann; and grandson, Dean Spurgeon. She is survived by her daughter, Anita (Spurgeon) Sandwell and husband Don of Springfield, Missouri; sons, David Spurgeon and wife Deborah (Luetjen) of Mt. Sterling, Missouri, Earl Spurgeon and wife Susan Walker of Peculiar, Missouri and Brian Spurgeon of Raymore, Missouri; brothers, Nolan Hesemann and Clyde Hesemann and wife Lynn (Ritterbusch), all of Owensville, Missouri; grandchildren, Jessica (Sandwell) Denkler and husband Brandon of Lohman, Missouri, Adam Sandwell and wife Amy (Mongler) of Peculiar, Missouri, Roy Spurgeon of Belton, Missouri and Nicole Spurgeon of Columbia, Missouri; great grandchildren, Makenna and Paige Denkler and Nan and Alfred Sandwell; other relatives and friends.
