Shirley worked several years as a Licensed Practical Nurse, helping with home care and hospice families. She enjoyed Elvis, crafts, gardening, bingo, being involved in politics and she could regularly be found at the Cuba City Council meetings. Shirley was spicy, gritty and a very patriotic lady. She always stood up for what she believed in. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Mathilda Ambler; husband, Ronald J. Bandy; and three brothers, Kenny, Harry and Roy Ambler. Jerry Ann Cain Jerry Ann Cain of Sullivan, Missouri was born on her family's farm located near Sullivan, Missouri on January 2, 1939 to Albert W. and Viola N. (Delashmett) Politte and passed away on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at the age of 79 years. She grew up and attended school in Sullivan, Missouri and was in the graduating class of 1956. Jerry married Leo Cain on June 16, 1956. Jerry worked at the Midwest Shoe Factory for many years and eventually went on to work in the Sullivan Elementary School cafeteria alongside her daughter, Roxann. Jerry retired from the school in 2002. She was a very devoted member of New Testament Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri. She taught Sunday school for over 20 years and worked in the kitchen there and was a caregiver to all. Jerry also loved doing yard work, puzzles, crossword puzzles, reading and going on walks with Leo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Cain; her parents, Albert W. and Viola Politte; and one grandson, Christopher Hood. Richard loved the outdoors. He loved to hunt and especially enjoyed fishing. He was a quite person and like the simple things of life. Agnes Louise Cook Agnes Louise Cook of Cuba, Missouri was born Monday, May 31, 1937 at Leasburg, Missouri to Samuel and Noda Pyatt Walls and passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the age of 80 years. Agnes graduated from Southeast Missouri State College (SEMO). After graduation she moved to St. Louis, Missouri and began her teaching career. In 1978 Agnes moved to Cuba, Missouri and went to work for Cuba Elementary School as a kindergarten teacher. Twenty-one years later, 1999, Agnes turned in her chalk and erasers and retired. Agnes loved being a teacher and every year she would sew letter people and give to her students for Christmas. Agnes kept a diary and each year she would list the high school graduates that were her students, when they were in kindergarten. As years passed, Agnes was happy that her students remembered her, because she always remembered them. Agnes received the "Lifetime Teachers Certificate." Agnes was an avid reader, enjoyed working in her flower gardens, sewing and she wrote daily in her diary. The book "Me My Dolls My Books and Me" was written and published by Agnes from her 1938 to 2002 diaries. She then went on to write and publish "Soldiers Correspondence" from letters her brother sent home daily from the war. The last book she wrote and published was "Bible Study." Agnes loved animals, especially her cat "Billy" and her dog "Sally." She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Noda Walls; and three brothers, Jim, Jerry and Dave Walls. Ralph Lenwood Davis Ralph Lenwood Davis of St. James, Missouri was born in High Gate, Missouri on May 24, 1927 to Charles Edmond and Mary Christina (Satterfield) Davis and passed away January 20, 2018 at the age of 90 years. He married Midge Greene on May 7, 1949. Ralph served in the United States Navy for four years and spent two years on Guam during WWII. Upon his return he went to work for the FFA, traveling through 17 states building radar towers. During this time Ralph and Midge welcomed a son, Mark Lenwood Davis. When Mark was old enough to start school, the Davis' returned home and settled in St. James, Missouri where Ralph spent many years running his own construction company. Several St. James landmarks were built by Ralph including the First Baptist Church, James & Gahr Mortuary, and Pizza Hut, and many local homes. Ralph was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in St. James, Missouri where he served as a Deacon for more than 60 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 65 years and an active volunteer at the Missouri Veterans Home for many years. He also served faithfully on the board of the Sheltered Workshop. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Davis; seven brothers; two sisters; and two half-sisters. She spent many hours watching TV, especially "The Price is Right," "Wheel of Fortune" and wrestling. When her favorite shows were on, she didn't want you to talk to her. Her favorite places to go out to eat at were Long John Silvers and the "Big Bull." She enjoyed coloring with her nieces, reading Dick and Jane books, making potholders on her little loom and taking naps. Ruth was a member of the Cuba Free Will Baptist Church and always treasured the time she spent there. She never went anywhere without her purse. Loretta spent her life taking care of her home and family. She loved going to church, singing, sewing and in her younger years, she spent many hours roller skating. Loretta believed in keeping an immaculate house. She was always cleaning, regardless of where she was. In her spare time, she enjoyed yard sales, garage sales and shopping. After Loretta's health began to decline, she moved to Cuba Manor and there she loved helping the other residents. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Lula McGuire; two sisters, Sonya Collier and Wanda; and one brother, Johnny Fred McGuire. She was a lifelong member of the area and a 1981 graduate of the Belle School System. Kelley had been employed at the Missouri Department of Revenue for 29 years. She retired on October 1, 2015. Kelley was a giver and put others needs ahead of her own. She was always available for anyone that needed help. Kelley's hobbies included doing floral arrangements, quilting, making crafts, watching scary movies and collecting Indian memorabilia. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed social networking. In January of 1974 Alice married Steve Beakley in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union four children were born. She later married her long time companion, Robert "Bobby" Heflin, in Cherryville, Missouri on June 3, 1989 and a daughter was adopted. Alice accepted the Lord September 15, 1996 and attended the Light House Tabernacle Church in Viburnum, Missouri. She helped in the nursery and also helped organize a puppet ministry. She cleaned the church as well. Alice's hobbies were to sew and crochet, which she enjoyed doing with her sister Pamelia. She liked to cook and was very good at it. She enjoyed fishing and singing. Virginia Jeanette Miller Virginia Jeanette Miller of Bourbon, Missouri was born on December 6, 1929 to Edward C. and Amelia (Somerfield) Herman in Kirkwood, Missouri and passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the age of 88 years. She grew up and graduated from St. Peter's Catholic School in Kirkwood, Missouri. On September 6, 1952 Virginia married Jean A. Miller after his return from service in the Korean War. They resided in Kirkwood, Missouri until June of 1969 when they settled into Bourbon, Missouri. Virginia enjoyed being a housewife and attending ceramic classes. She was a bit of an artist; she could draw pictures with intricate detail, she embroidered flowers that were so rich in texture, created intricate ceramic roses and detailed stained-glass lamps. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jean Miller; parents, Edward and Amelia Herman; and brother, Edward Herman. She is survived by four children, John Miller of Bourbon, Missouri, Joe Miller (fianceˇ, Pat) of Bourbon, Missouri, Kathryn "Kay" Ryerson of Bourbon, Missouri and Christine (Mike) Miller of Rolla, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Kathy Ryerson of Bourbon, Missouri, Raymond (Mandy) Ryerson of Bourbon, Missouri, Rita Ryerson of Arnold, Missouri, Molly (Timothy) Kelley of Springfield, Missouri, Benjamin Miller of Rolla, Missouri, John Miller of Maryville, Illinois, James (Sara) Miller of Union, Missouri and Rebecca (Joshua) Teague of Sophia, North Carolina; seven great grand- children and one on the way; one sister, Edna (Peter) Gaffney of Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and friends. "Vernon" Moehlmann Jerome V. "Vernon" Moehlmann, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Moehlmann. He is survived by siblings, Russell Moehlmann, Lawrence (Judy) Moehlmann, Dorothy Manger, Alice Moehlmann, Peggy Wright, Roy Moehlmann, Marvin Moehlmann and Gloria Dillard; sister-in-law, Lois Moehlmann; other relatives and friends. Mottin Bob E. Mottin of Ellisville, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, was born to Clarence and Mabel (Foelsch) Mottin on Saturday, July 12, 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the age of 93 years. Bob married Rita Virginia Wilt on June 15, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He earned the Victory Medal, American Area Ribbon, Asiatic- Pacific (3 stars) and the Philippine Liberation (2 stars). Bob was a retiree of Ford Motor Company after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a longtime parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of Indian Hills Men's Club. Bob would spend hours woodworking in his shop and shared his works of art with others. He enjoyed living at Indian Hills and bowling with his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mabel Mottin; wife of 57 years, Rita Virginia (Wilt) Mottin; infant son, Donald Mottin; one brother, Glenn Mottin; and one sister, Jane Rotondo. He is survived by two children, Robert Leo and wife Barbara Mottin of Chesterfield, Missouri and Susan Kay and husband Raymond Wicks of St. Louis, Missouri; two grandchildren, Julie Christine and husband William Hannah of aVirginia Beach, Virginia and Brian and wife Maureen Mottin of Ellisville, Missouri; four great grand- children, Victoria, Claire, Andrew and Jacob; one nephew, Kenneth Rotondo of Saratoga Springs, New York; other relatives and friends. Shirley Diane Mercer Simpson Shirley Diane Mercer Simpson (nee Walton) of Sullivan, Missouri was born in Athens, Texas on Thursday, September 3, 1970 to Gladys Walton and passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the age of 47 years, 4 months and 10 days. Shirley had attended 1st Southern Baptist Church, Leasburg, Missouri. She enjoyed coloring, also being outdoors, camping and collecting river rocks. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Walton; brother, Austin Loden; and sister, Christy Cheryl Loden. Vaughn Ray Sisson Vaughn Ray Sisson of St. James, Missouri was born on October 20, 1961 to Ed and Joan Vaughn Sisson in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on December 28, 2017 at the age of 56 years, 2 months and 9 days of age. He was united in marriage to Sharon Sisson on October 25, 1997 in Cuba, Missouri. He worked for the Lucent Technology as an installer. Swaim was born August 12, 1937 in Manhattan, Kansas and passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at the age of 80 years. Darrell grew up in Rolla, Missouri and graduated from Rolla High School in 1956. Darrell loved life. He married Audrey Williams on June 7, 1959. They enjoyed 58 years together. After nine years in the Army they made their home in Phelps County. He was a butcher in St. James, Missouri and then his remaining working years was at UMR in Rolla, Missouri. Retirement found him and Audrey spending winters in Florida and summers in Missouri. He was a member of High Gate Baptist Church. He loved church and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. He is survived by his wife Audrey; one sister; other relatives and friends. Darrell wanted his body donated to science, so there were no services. Vaughan of Salem, Missouri was born September 22, 1948 in Beulah, Missouri to Vernon and Dorothy (Vaughan) Howell and passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the age of 69 years. She was a mother to many children and felt that all people were family not only by blood but by love. She was very active in the Salem Fraternal Order of the Eagles Women's Auxiliary Club where she served as past and present President. She worked raising money for many charities and local families. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, hunting and fishing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Dorothy; and sister, Barbara Cohea. Carla Jean Wilkinson Carla Jean (Worley) Wilkinson was born November 24, 1964 at Bonne Terre, Missouri to Charles and Judith (Marler) Worley and passed away January 11, 2018 at the age of 53 years. On June 20, 1998 Carla married David Lee Wilkinson. Carla attended the Gladden Baptist Church. She was a leader in the local 4-H, was involved with the American Quarter Horse Association and the American Kennel Club. Carla loved working with pottery, making ceramics, gardening and growing flowers. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; and brother-in-law, Gary Wilkinson.
